I never watched ASU play during the year, but I think it's commendable that they did as well as they did while their star player completely disappeared.
3/22/2009 4:34:11 PM
yeah, comparably speaking, imagine if Atsur would have been out/non-existent during State's NIT run in '06-07
3/22/2009 4:54:14 PM
Lowe is better than Sendek.
3/22/2009 5:03:01 PM
Arizona advances to the Sweet Sixteen while ASU loses in the second round, a glorious day of basketball as far as I'm concerned
3/22/2009 5:05:09 PM
hey, Utah and Cleveland State should boost the RPImaybe they'll re-seed you as a #3 for the sweet 16
3/22/2009 5:06:27 PM
^lulz, it's not Arizona's fault that WFU stunk it up, they can only play the games they're given
3/22/2009 5:08:02 PM
you're right. sometimes getting a 12 seed is better than getting the dreaded 6 or 7
3/22/2009 5:16:50 PM
Tough loss today, Pendergraph's second half absence really hurt as did the wiggers' timely 3 point shooting. But all in all a very good year, expecting good things to continue next year.
3/22/2009 10:57:32 PM
especially if Herb can land Natyazhko and/or Smith!
3/22/2009 11:08:17 PM
^^ I like how there is no mention of you predicting them getting to the Elite Eight now[Edited on March 23, 2009 at 12:30 AM. Reason : .]
3/23/2009 12:30:36 AM
I think its funny that many of you see: TreeTwista10 feel the need to come in here and post shit. But in reality if it was us in ASU's place today it would have been OMG SIDNEY LOST TO SYRACUSE AND A TOP FIVE COACH OF ALL TIME WHO'S WON IT ALL.
3/23/2009 12:55:02 AM
Yeah I thought they would get to the Elite 8, but maybe that was a stretch for the Sun Devils in their first postseason appearance with Herb. There's things that can be improved but there's also plenty of this team and Herb to be proud of. He took a sad and worthless program and made them nationally relevant.

i just get sick of all the pointless and meaningless sendek/lowe comparisonsbecause they're pointless and meaningless
3/23/2009 2:01:43 AM
You are the main one comparing them.I don't compare them. I just defend Herb. I want Lowe to succeed. What he and Lowe do are independent of each other now.
3/23/2009 2:04:31 AM
3/23/2009 2:07:34 AM
I do not compare Lowe to Herb much like I don't compare him to Gaudio, Roy, K, whatever. I compare Lowe to Lowe. My mixed feelings about Lowe have nothing to do with Herb. NOTHING.

Dude, you are putting words in my mouth again.Find one post in this thread where I compare Herb to Sidney or say any of that you just mentioned.Do you sometimes confuse me with someone else or what?
3/23/2009 2:14:41 AM
I don't know if I can find one in this thread, but you're just knowingly lying if you don't think I can find one in the Lowe Credibility Watch thread...I can find plenty of them

it is not at all surprising that coaches feel like herb sendek was doing just a peachy job here.although the fact that jim boeheim is talking about herb being a good coach is laughable when boeheim matched herb's most successful postseason 3 times in his first 4 years at syracuse.[Edited on March 23, 2009 at 5:18 PM. Oh, and armorfrsleep, did you read this part
3/23/2009 5:17:14 PM
^yeah I knew Ovies was a State grad, but he still takes shots at us on his blog...and frankly from many of the videos they post on the blog it seems like he is more of a Miami fan than a State fan (at least during football season).
3/23/2009 8:55:11 PM
There's a difference between "taking shots at us" and "calling out retards"[Edited on March 23, 2009 at 9:23 PM. Reason : and I'm pretty sure he's just from Miami, not a Miami fan]
3/23/2009 9:17:13 PM
Kyryl Natyazhko is making his official visit this weekend6'10" 240lbs, ****, #10 center in the nation, from Florida. good friends with Rihards Kuksiks and '09 commit Ruslan Pateevoffers from: FSU, Kentucky, Miami, Pitt and Xavier
3/25/2009 6:42:49 PM
This is big because I really have no faith in Boateng taking over for Pendergraph.
3/26/2009 12:18:39 AM
I watched ASU's last game and Boateng looked like he didn't know what he was doing. It's amazing how such a all-world slam dunk player out of high school has turned out so crappy.
3/26/2009 8:09:35 AM
well he's played for two coaches that don't know what the hell to do with a big manif he played at UConn or Georgetown, he might have been good
3/26/2009 9:18:56 AM
I thought Herb used Pendergraph fairly well, they ran a good amount of the offense through him. I think the untrainable Boateng is a no talent ass clown.
3/26/2009 9:40:17 AM
i've been friends with Kyryl on FB for a while and his status makes it seem that he's really excited about this recruiting trip to ASU
3/26/2009 10:04:27 AM

Darius Smith, **** from Chicago just gave his verbal to UConn.the rich get richer
3/30/2009 10:31:15 PM
I honestly had no idea UConn was even recruiting him. Must have gotten in on him after Durand Scott committed to Miami...
3/31/2009 2:09:22 AM
What was this about Herb trying to push his name for the UVA job?
4/1/2009 10:54:20 AM
ive read that he is inquiring about the UGA job as well

4/1/2009 1:43:03 PM
^it's a good thing that didn't happenWe all know Lee Fowler would prepare a 10 minute video montage to be played before the State-UVA game at the RBC. Picture it in your head."For 10 years, Hall of Fame bound coach Herb Sendek roamed the sidelines in Raleigh. Amassing a (insert numbers here) record, he carried on the great tradition of NC State basketball. Loved by his fans just as Jim Valvano, Norm Sloan, and Everret Case were before him, Herb Sendek elevated NC State basketball to heights previously unknown."
4/1/2009 2:07:01 PM
Kyryl Natyazhko, the nation's top unsigned center, enjoyed his visit last week and has narrowed it down to ASU and Xavierhe is expected to make his decision on April 11
4/3/2009 12:12:15 PM
so, the Natyazhko sweepstakes was between ASU and Xaviernow that Miller left for AU, this really helps things out for Herb getting the top unsigned center in the nation
4/6/2009 5:02:32 PM
^that's very important to all of us!
