7/25/2010 1:22:19 PM
another fucking great episode. This shit is getting back on track, ASAP.
7/25/2010 11:30:51 PM
"Like that face grab thing in Alien"great line
7/26/2010 3:02:44 AM
Agreed. About time it is picking up.I am intrigued by the Eric storyline, but all the homo stuff has me a bit irked. I wonder what he is plotting.Still...Tara sucks.Sam sucks.Jessica/Arlene sucks.

7/26/2010 10:12:34 AM
Great episode. I felt like each story got the time and attention it deserved before switching.Tara isn't boring/pissing me off nearly as much as the beginning of the season since she's stopped whining and started schemingLoved how Jason sounded like Andy when he was reprimanding QB1 for lewd behaviorSam's storyline is meh, but I'll deal with it Jessica/Arlene needs to be Jessica/Hoyt dammitAnything involving vampires and werewolves at this point has me completely hooked...just how I like it
7/26/2010 10:26:17 AM
It was pretty crazy when Tara beat that dude's head in with the mace... although we all know that won't kill him. I guess she doesn't know you have to stake a vampire. I was kind of curious as to what Sookie planned on doing if she rescued Bill since it was daytime. I guess she could have thrown some blankets or something over him to block the sunlight.
7/26/2010 10:59:55 AM
Yeah, I was wondering if the mace/headbashing would kill him. I thought it needed to be a stake or straight chop his head off to kill a vamp.Looked like she smashed his head pretty good though...
7/26/2010 11:11:12 AM
I hope he is dead, that entire line/character is less than interesting.
7/26/2010 11:12:15 AM
I haven't been a big fan of this season. I just don't like every episode taking place in the governor's mansion... but I never read the books. Maybe that's how the books are. I'm also not digging all of the new characters. Adding a few new characters is one thing, but they've basically doubled the cast. I miss Bon Temps [Edited on July 26, 2010 at 11:35 AM. Reason : ]
7/26/2010 11:33:58 AM
I like how Jesus was surprised Laf was a drug dealer. Really? He drives a Lotus and works as a cook.
7/26/2010 11:53:59 AM
it's an sv9 competizione which is based off the c6 corvette.tara shoulda staked him after bashing him. i'm sure he'll be back and will probably be even more into her as a result.the dog fighting subplot seems like a stupid way to utilize shifting ability.
7/26/2010 12:01:49 PM
^,^^ but the plot won't work if the characters are marginally intelligent!
7/26/2010 8:16:24 PM
why is that stupid, it seems pretty cool.
7/26/2010 8:18:17 PM
because they could turn into elephants and elephants are way cooler.
7/26/2010 9:13:44 PM
how are they going to make money by turning into elephants, join the circus?dogfighting makes sense.
7/26/2010 11:06:34 PM
it just seems like there would be other ways to make cash money as a shifter with less risk. (although i can't think of any at the moment)
7/27/2010 8:48:24 AM
You could tun into a pickpocketing chimp.
7/27/2010 8:51:25 AM
you're giving these rednecks way too much credit
7/27/2010 8:51:57 AM
7/27/2010 9:02:52 AM
well the point seems to be that the mother is making the kid fight, no?drama, people.
7/27/2010 9:29:54 AM
I doubt a rhino can break into a bank vault. But yeah, its the rednecks that are stupid.
7/27/2010 9:50:23 AM
^^ to be fair... the dad is making the kid fight, just like he made the mom fight.
7/27/2010 1:18:34 PM
so whos the new girl w/ Jason?
7/27/2010 1:31:23 PM
pretty sure the new girl is a werewolf.... hence the "you are really warm" comment, her turning around sniffing when they were in the woods ect
7/27/2010 1:34:17 PM
7/27/2010 1:39:07 PM
maybe she's a werebunny or a wereferret.
7/27/2010 1:41:18 PM
maybe she's a mummy or a frankenstein.i keep waiting for them to bring those ones out.
7/27/2010 1:51:00 PM
So much carnage! Loved it!RIP Lorena
8/1/2010 10:02:03 PM
these past couple of episodes have been much better than the rest of the season. i hope it stays that way.
8/1/2010 10:48:02 PM
Thought for the morning...how many episodes have ended in a Sookie scream? Off the top of my head I count 4: End of season 1 ep, end of "frenzy" when she sees Laffy is possessed by Maryann, end of S3.06 (i'm counting a blood curtling "nooooooo!") and S3.07*Now I'm second guessing myself from last night...was it sookie scream or magister head roll? Damn you pacifico![Edited on August 2, 2010 at 8:19 AM. Reason : Fuzzy]

Head Roll... the Sookie scream led to the magister screaming in pain[Edited on August 2, 2010 at 8:25 AM. Reason : !]

They need to do a better job explaining the hierarchy of the vampires. For instance, it was just last week that I actually knew Eric was stronger than the queen. I thought higher rank meant older meant stronger.
8/2/2010 9:00:07 AM
We discussed that last season in regard to Godric. Eric had said he was very old and could be the King of Texas if he wanted, but he was fine just being Sheriff. That right there showed age and power does not matter. Even the Queen said Eric was older and the oldest vampire in her queendom, but she could still wear his fangs as earrings. I don't even think Nan is that old, but she has a good face for TV to gain trust and her media influence alone gives her "power". Age matters to an extent, but it's more in how you play the game.
8/2/2010 9:14:21 AM
8/2/2010 9:16:59 AM
My problem isn't with the Kings and Queens, it's what the "Authority". How the fuck do they interact with the Kings and Queens? Why did they need the magister to marry them if they're abdicating the "Authority"?None of it makes any sense, but at least vampires are getting staked again. Also gratuitous faerie titties.
8/2/2010 10:23:28 AM
this season started off slow but the King is by far my favorite character now, which sucks since i realize Eric can't allow him to live for much longerbut none of you mentioned Hadley or what she said "Sookie is my...." Sister? Don't answer me if you already know but it's possible since Sookie's birth was "unofficial" that there are more family members out there. also it was a Franklin free episode (occured all day) so I imagine we will see a bludgeoned Franklin wreck some shit next episode. also, this is just a hunch but I think that what's her face baked "something" into the biscuits that persuades people. Even if Jason really liked them he wouldnt have said something like "she'll make a great grandmama one day". Hopefully Jessica sucks her dry and Hoyt and her get back together, or it could put them further apart. i just love this show now. before i liked it, it was a guilty pleasure but now i love it.

8/2/2010 12:02:04 PM
oh ok i did figure it was family somehow, but we still don't know what she told Eric (he's seen her use the fairie powers so he already knows that to some extent) that got him excitedthough if they are cousins, she should have some abilityi still think Jason's ability is dumb luck, like Longshot my favorite X-Men member. like an actual ability to change luck in his direction, it just happens.
8/2/2010 12:07:52 PM
Actually Eric hasn't seen Sookie use her light power...he's only aware of her telepathy. But whatever Hadley did whisper is new to him...and prolly new to everyone except Hadley & Sophie-Ann and probably Bill though part of me thinks the Queen might have only told him minimal info b4 he started doing family research on her.But it's possible that her cousin isn't like her. Her parents didn't have the trait or ability and neither does Jason...he having a blood type, while Sookie does not, is further evidence he's just human. Only person we know that is/was like Sookie is her grandfather.
8/2/2010 12:17:26 PM
8/2/2010 12:38:10 PM
yeah, that sounds right. I've always found it pretty clear that the "physical" power coming from age had little to do with political power.I believe they specifically addressed this with both Sophie-Ann when she first appeared (since Eric has more physical power than her) and with Godric as well. But, I could see it being really confusing if someone missed those 1 or 2 moments in as many episodes.
8/2/2010 1:19:21 PM
Russell Edgington is by far my favorite character now, but I won't mind when Eric kills him. They're playing it like Eric plans on getting him in bed, which is gay (in every sense of the term). It seems painfully obvious and not subtle in any way. I hope they surprise me.
8/2/2010 2:09:03 PM
I love Russell, he was cast well, but I'll be upset if what you and gunzz said earlier plays.
8/2/2010 4:41:53 PM
yeah, I don't really like when Eric is trying to "win him over" by flirting. And I don't have a problem with the gay relationships in the show. I just don't think it's believable considering how (realtively) effeminate eric is when flirting with him. It seems so uncharacteristic that it's just unbelievable and kind of silly - and not in a good, lighthearted way. But rather in a "there's no way in hell that guy should be buying that."^ see, i could go along with that. I can see Eric, just by being himself, seducing Talbot. I don't buy the charade he puts on for Russell and i'd be surprised if Russell is actually buying it as well.[Edited on August 2, 2010 at 4:58 PM. Reason : ^]
8/2/2010 4:45:25 PM
see i have a harder time believing that the King doesn't remember who Eric was. especially since he has made it his life's work to go around collecting trinkets from history by grand shows of power. he knows Eric well enough that he should know who Godric is and he should know that they both are of Viking descent. he clearly remembers where he got the crown from that he displays in his house or else Talbot wouldn't know. Unless of course it was Talbot that the King sent on a mission to kill the Vikings or something like that.
8/2/2010 6:03:23 PM
i brushed that off as him only briefly seeing Eric - he was with the house maid while Russell was killing his family - and that it has been a long time. I mean, i'm not sure these vampires are meant to have any better memory than anyone else. Eric was one boy who he briefly saw how many years ago? And how many crowns/trinkets had he killed for, and how many people has he met? And Eric was meant to be a fair amount younger at that point than when he was turned. I realize it was just him in a wig, but I'm pretty sure he was supposed to be in his late teens maybe, maybe early twenties in that scene. He wasn't turned for some time after that as far as we know and probably changed a good bit features wise. Plus he's all GQ now. --- if anything, I would have expected russell to do a double take at Eric's last name if it was the name used by his father. So, I'm not really thrown by him not seeming to know. At the same time, it wouldn't surprise if he did and just hasn't let on.And I'm not sure how much Talbot really knows about that crown. The flashback we saw was Eric remembering that evening, I believe. -- I may be wrong about it, but I don't recall Talbot really seeming to really know an extensive amount about it.
