Week 5 PreviewACC Preview:11 ACC Teams play this week. Georgia Tech has the lone off week this week, which hopefully provides the team and fans an opportunity to recover from last weeks exciting final minutes in thier win against Miss. St. Wake Forest dropped 6 spots in the polls this week to #24. Florida State has taken over the #22 spot, their first week in the top 25. Miami is also in the top 25 this week as #20 and Clemson moved up 1 spot to #8.Games:Navy (2-2) at Wake (2-1)USF (2-1) at NCSU (2-2)FCS-E at BC (1-2)UNC (3-0) at Miami (3-0)UVA (2-1) at Duke (3-0)UM (3-1) at Clemson (4-0)Colorado (2-1) AT FSU (3-0)VT (2-2) at Nebraska (2-1)Off Week:GT (4-0)ACC Previews: [all games being covered by your local regional affiliates]UNC (3-0) at Miami (3-0)Miami is hosting this battle of undefeated teams this week. Both teams are playing excellent defense this year, while Miami has the slight statistical edge in the offensive department. Both teams are at full strength this week, this is easily the ACC game of the week, be sure to tune in to your Raycom station to catch this game.Navy (2-2) at Wake (2-1)Expect Wake Forest to come back home ready to run a higher powered offense. The team ranks in the bottom of the country in all offensive categories. They need to get the ship righted before next weeks home game against the high octane Clemson Tigers.USF (2-1) at NCSU (2-2)This is a key game for the 2-2 Wolfpack. This game could position the Wolfpack to make a run toward a bowl bid. They face an extremely difficult schedule late in the season with games against FSU, the surging Duke Blue Devils, Wake Forest and UNC. NC State is running a solid offense and the defense has been working very well. Total team defensive yards is 25th in the nation. USF has one starter out for the game, WR C. Mitchell, this will give Junior Quarterback Matt Grothe limited options to throw to.FCS-E at BC (1-2)Boston College is looking to get back to playing five hundred ball this season. This week they take on FCS-East at home. This should be no test for Boston College's highly ranked defense, the offense is hoping to get out of the cellar in terms of yardage and points. Boston College has to turn around their turnover differential story this year if they want to be in the middle of the ACC, -7 in this department (#118 in the nation) is not going to win many football games. YO!UVA (2-1) at Duke (3-0)Both teams are playing top 10 nationally defense this year. Duke looks to keep momentum alive as they play their first ACC test, while UVA hopes to score more points than week 3s 20-7 road win to UConn. The winner of this game will be playing a bowl game in December. The loser is going to be on the hot seatUM (3-1) at Clemson (4-0)Maryland travels to the hostile Memorial Stadium to face CJ Spiller and the fast Clemson offense. Maryland's linebacking core will be severly tested this week as Spiller hopes to improve his Heisman hopes this week. Maryland is suffering from two injuries, one to thier 3rd wide recieved Danny Oquendo, the other to backup FS Antwine Perez.Colorado (2-1) AT FSU (3-0)FSU is hoping to continue thier 3 game win streak at home as Colorado comes to town. Florida State has given up a total of 3 rushing yards in 3 games, and have an impressive turnover differential of 13. Colorado travels east after losing last week to #5 West Virginia 17-43. It doesn't look like week 5 will be better.VT (2-2) at Nebraska (2-1)Virginia Tech travels to Big 12 country to take on the 2-1 Cornhuskers. Virginia Tech wants to turn around from two early season ACC losses. Statistically the teams are matched; however Nebraska will be playing without thier star running back Marlon Lucky who is out for 8 weeks with a high ankle sprain.Selected Top 25 Action:#6 Wisconsin (3-0) at Michigan (2-1)Saturday afternoon Wisconsin and Michigan start Big 10 play. Homefield advantage could come into play in this one as Wisconsin is without either of their two centers. This could cause many communication problems in the hostile Michigan environment.#14 Tennessee (3-0)(1-0) at #17 Auburn (3-1)(1-1)Auburn is coming off an impressive 31-14 win against LSU last week. UT is also coming off a quality win against Florida 41-17. Auburn's defense will need to lead thier team to victory and stop the Tennesse offense from scoring often.

FSU takes care of business at home against Colorado 56-14. Drew Weatherford aired it out for 214 yards and 3 TDs. Smith picked up 3 TDs of his own with 83 yards on the ground. The CU offense took Bobby's defense to task in the 1st and 2nd quarters with long drives and an impressive completion percentage, but in the end Bobby got his squad together and they were able to pick the ball off 3 times, with 2 being taken to the house.Florida State takes to the road next week and heads across the state to Miami to meet in primetime.
7/23/2008 2:12:32 AM
end of first quarter here in lincoln NE.... both teams have decent drives only to fail late, Nebraska missed a 45 yard field goal on their first drive... second quarter is beginning with VT threatening inside the 35
7/23/2008 10:33:00 AM
halftime and Virginia Tech has put up a pair of field goals to lead 6-0. as expected VT defense absolutely controlling NE.
7/23/2008 10:43:46 AM
Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe says in his weekly press conference that he plans to spend a lot of time this week going back to the basics in the run game and spending time with Riley Skinner to get him back on track after his 3 interception performance against FSU.
7/23/2008 10:47:49 AM
I think the nude pics may be getting to him.
7/23/2008 10:54:10 AM
after 4 unanswered field goals (talk about a defensive battle) NE Qb throws into what seemed at the time single coverage.... but ends up being triple... pick 6 hokies up 19-0
7/23/2008 10:54:42 AM
Virginia Tech did what they do best which is completely shut down the oppositions offense and pick up points when they can. 5 field goals by the kicker (including 2 50 yarders) lead the team while the defense picked off 3 passes... at macho harris as a punt returner... he is faster than i thought. glennon was nothing spectacular but got the job done with less than 100 yards passing. the leg of Keys really carried the team.next week sees western kentucky, a relative newcomer to D-1 A football boasting a D+ overall with a lockdown C rating on their Defense the Hilltoppers are sit at 2-2 behind wins against two directional fcs teams. look for a barnburner next week!
7/23/2008 11:14:46 AM

7/23/2008 12:15:49 PM
it wasnt too bad ( although i can see it being a problem in the future against a better foe) but loosing Ore really hurt this squad
7/23/2008 12:56:34 PM

7/23/2008 12:59:00 PM

7/23/2008 2:23:55 PM

7/23/2008 2:26:25 PM

7/23/2008 2:43:03 PM
Hey wolfpack2105... I switched some things around so I should be home about 8 or 9 pm east coast time tonight if you want to play... but I am going to see Dark Knight after work tomorrow so won't be home until late... so we probably should get it in tonight.
7/23/2008 2:50:03 PM
Wake Forest comes out with in the all-black uni's, and brings a new attitude with them. Final score Wake-35, Navy-3. The ground attack still needs a lot of work before we can compete with the ACC, but Riley Skinner definitely came out with something to prove today. He went 12-16 for 105 yards and 1 touchdown. He also had 4 carries for 47 yards, with a long of 18. The defense was able to force a couple turnovers on their own side of the field. Overall, it was a good stepping stone game after the FSU embarrasment.
7/23/2008 2:51:36 PM

7/23/2008 5:15:41 PM

Morgan returns an interception for a TD to make the score 24 - 14
7/23/2008 5:37:26 PM
USF takes a late interception back to the house to close to 24-21, however, NC State managed to run out the clock to get the win.REcap later, have to run for now.
7/23/2008 5:48:50 PM

7/23/2008 6:00:26 PM
i swear, does anyone else have problems when they try to play another human player in this dynasty??? My game against Jaybee and now against NyM the fucking thing won't let us connect. It randomly let me and Jaybee but not its doin the same thing with me and NyM
7/23/2008 8:12:03 PM
Could be an issue with your U-suites connectionIf anyone has problems hooking up when they're not playing wolfpack2105, post it here so we can determine if its an isolated problem or not
7/23/2008 8:27:25 PM
Shit definitely isn't working right now... it's pretty frustrating so we are going to try again later tonight or tomorrow...sorry for the hold up, fellas..
7/23/2008 8:27:51 PM
do you have another router to try?
7/23/2008 8:30:35 PM
i mean, i've played half the league in regular games with no problems.....And then me and jaybee just randomly were allowed to play. I don't get it....weird shit
7/23/2008 8:39:41 PM
routers get pms a lot but it could also just be your connection in general. Do you know anyone at U Suites that will let you steal their connection to test it? Hell maybe EA Sports dislikes carolina enough that they made it where no one would want to use them in an online dynasty. Slave- when you're ready, let me know. I should be good from now til about 12. Internet is still laggy and pinging is slow as shit but we can try. [Edited on July 23, 2008 at 8:55 PM. Reason : ]
7/23/2008 8:48:40 PM
Just a reminder that I will be gone until Friday, and possibly Sunday this weekend, so that you all don't think that I am skipping out on you all.
7/23/2008 9:08:58 PM
^^ I'll be ready in 15 if you wanna go
7/23/2008 10:07:42 PM
sounds good
7/23/2008 10:08:18 PM
it all becomes clear now...wolfpack2105 frustrates opponents into a state of despair and pure loathing for the game and then, THEN! it magically works and he wins
7/23/2008 11:19:26 PM
oh fuck me. winning 31-21 with under 2 to go in the 4th and it fucking disconnects. on a side note- I can't make a message that says fuck ea sports cause it contains profanity. [Edited on July 23, 2008 at 11:27 PM. Reason : ]

Virginia beats Duke 34-28 in a game that wasn't as close as the final score would indicate. The Blue Devils fell behind 14-0 early and had to resort to throwing the ball the rest of the game. It was quickly determined that their default playbook has very few effective deep routes, so they had to resort to running the same 3-4 plays for most of the contest. Offensive Coordinate Slave T. Famous vows to put in some more 3 and 4 WR packages before nexts weeks contest.Virginia running back MichaelMychalMikallhoweverthefuckhespells it Simpson was the player of the game, amassing nearly 100 yards both rushing and receiving while recording a pair of scores. Quarterback Peter Lalick was quietly efficient, completing 6 of 11 passes for 161 and a TD. On defense, DE Sean Gottschalk had a pair of sacks. On the Devils side, QB Thaddeus Lewis was erratic, throwing 3 picks along with 2 TDs and 251 yards. Receivers Sheldon Bell and Eron Riley each finished up with around 100 yards a touchdown. The special teams standout was Leon Wright, who took a kickoff back 80 yards to the house. After the game, coach David Cutcliffe was not in the mood to answer questions "All I'm gonna say" he said to the reporters after the game "is that we played like a bunch of pussies out there today." Informed by one of his aides that this interview was live on the air, he responded "I don't give a shit" as he took a swig from his bottle of Aristocrat vodka.Next week Duke travels to Georgia Tech, while Virginia has a home game with Maryland.[Edited on July 23, 2008 at 11:55 PM. Maryland(tracer-saturn1118) at Clemson(dgspencer-PDaaaaaveT)-Clemson got lost on the way to the stadium and is probably down near Dolly now.North Carolina(wolfpack2105-BigCountry2117)at Miami(NyM410-Nym410)- the ea gods don't want this game to happenIn a shocking turn of events, both corso and herbstreit all 3 ACC games, picking UVA, Clemson, and Miami. and haha. good recap. my secondary got burned on countless 3rd and longs. Wish there hadn't been so much lag cause I'm sure it had a lot to do with the sacks and ints. And if I had been wearing a headset, I would have thrown it off on the kickoff return. After the game, Al Groh was seen speaking with Mikell Simpson. Someone reportedly heard Groh tell Simpson "Give me all your porn" and then put super glue on Simpson's hands and stuck them together. Simpson had butter fingers and muffed 2 punt returns in the opening minutes but luckily neither resulted in a turnover.[Edited on July 24, 2008 at 12:25 AM. Reason : ]
