concertsand yes, it was, but the last one in Asheville was last nightnow this thread can be used for other Smashing Pumpkins itemsbecause that would be more efficient than making a new one

last night's show was good. he had another new song that he wrote yesterday morning that was pretty cool. he said he woke up cranky and didn't feel like writing, and this song just came to him.it seemed like the show was gonna be a lot shorter than all the others, but after the last encore dragged out it did end up being around the 3 hour mark. hopefully they'll get that one up on archive.org soon. it's good to see they finally got the others.[Edited on July 6, 2007 at 7:38 PM. for all of the other die-hards that made it to the final show .... how freaking awesome was the "Oui Henri" tease before silverfuck. totally made my week.
7/6/2007 10:10:13 PM
Yeah, I can't wait to hear the boot of that. If I had been there, I think my head would have exploded.
7/6/2007 10:12:27 PM
it was a very brief tease, but cool nonetheless

the 7/5 concert was awesome. im still in disbelief that i finally saw SP live. tons of great pics. ...if you heard someone losing their voice screaming SOMAAA it was me
7/7/2007 5:04:50 PM
^just like 20 other million aholes who were yelling that as well
7/7/2007 5:16:47 PM
No one yelled "Rhinoceros"?
7/7/2007 5:17:33 PM
No one yelled "Spiteface"? Although on a more serious note, someone asked Billy about "Soma" after one of the shows, and he said that he doesn't really want to play it anymore.[Edited on July 7, 2007 at 5:31 PM. Reason : .]

^^^go to hell^^i heard at least one person yelling it out^

James and Billy have been known to fight, and Billy for sometimes behaving petulantly on stage, especially when overzealous fans scream over and over for the same song title. He's then likely to mock them and refuse to play the song they are begging for, insisting that the Pumpkins "Don't take requests. We are not a bar band."--Nevertheless, I was the asshole screaming geek usa all night long.

i hate that kind of stuff tho. sure you wrote great music to get where you are, but also people listened to you to get where you are. of course it is more them making great music, but the shows we play, sure its fun for us but its like 90% for the fans and what they want. if people want us to play a certain song we usually play it :/

i can't imagine how boring it gets to play the same songs over and over so i don't blame thembut on the 30th show i could really tell billy was getting into "fuck you" and it was awesomei guess he really felt like playing it
7/7/2007 7:52:51 PM
well they cant use that excuse right now for stuff like landslide, geek usa etc

7/7/2007 9:25:24 PM
It'll be on Bravo in a little bit. NBC is just showing whatever, though.
7/7/2007 9:26:28 PM
probably just part of it later on...they just showed a split second of them in the teaser for nbc before saying the police were on next
7/7/2007 9:27:16 PM
seriously thoughi'm out of it today
7/7/2007 9:29:14 PM
They should be up really soon on Bravo. Can't wait to see this again. Between Billy fucking up his voice, Ginger and Lisa being turned up too loud, and Jeff blowing the Today intro, it was a pretty classic borderline disastrous Pumpkins TV appearance.

http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/record_review/44083-zeitgeist4.9 out of 10 from Pitchfork. That might be too generous... I listened to it once and have no desire to repeat. I'm a long-time Smashing Pumpkins fan since Siamese Dream. I worshipped them through Adore. But, this album is just awful. I think for once pitchfork got it right when they said that Billy forgot that the pumpkins were awesome because they were versatile and had multiple sound palettes besides just churning hard rock consisting of layers of guitar noise over layers of guitar noise. Zeitgeist lacks melody and anything even remotely resembling the fragile, beautiful work of songs such as To Shiela, Mayonnaise, 33, and By Starlite

while the album is no siamese dream, i like it. i didnt like it as much right away, but the more i listen to it, its not bad. definitely better than a 4.9 at least imo
7/9/2007 5:17:41 PM
All the songs he's written in Asheville would make a pretty solid album, so maybe there's hope for the future.
7/9/2007 5:31:44 PM
I like Zeitgeist, but the three "bonus tracks" and the Asheville songs are better than two-thirds of the songs on the album.[Edited on July 9, 2007 at 5:43 PM. Reason : don't forget Letterman tonight]
7/9/2007 5:42:46 PM
^ good call. I'm listening to Stellar right now, and I'm liking it much better than anything on the album
