David Karsten Daniels will perform Jan. 23 from NBC17's studio B on Sessions at Studio B.

He's set to go on at noon on http://music.mync.com

If you have a question for him, you can type it into the chat room during the performance and we'll get it answered between songs.

As wilso pointed out on the previous page, DKD will play at Local 506 on Jan. 24.

Our show at the Cave is this week's Indy Pick for Sunday 1/18!

Quote :
" 14 JAN 2009

Chapel Hill
Mute
The Cave—The relative newcomers of Mute stretch atmospheric shoegaze into lengthy meditations built around repeated phrases that build glacially. Swapping unyielding density for scope and space, the songs either bury you until you forget they're building or they entrance you like rain on the roof at night. Reprising a Friday night set at Sadlack's in Raleigh, the Capital City quartet takes to the subterranean Franklin Street tavern with likeminded neighbors Goodbye, Titan, whose own post-whatever brew feels more direct than Mute's. Chapel Hill folky Natasha El-Sergany opens at 9 p.m. Cover is $5. —Bryan Reed

**Note: the band Mute has recently changed its name to "The White Cascade."

Quote :
"Since Radiohead are nominated for five awards at the upcoming Grammy Awards, rumours of the band performing at the Awards Ceremony have been growing. But the band have now been confirmed to perform at the ceremony on February 8.

In a press release The Recording Academy confirmed that the band are set to play at the ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Radiohead are nominated for Album of the Year and have not performed when they were previously nominated for the big prize with ‘OK Computer’ and ‘Kid A’. Three times could be a charm and the band might be anticipating on that. Jonny Greenwood is also nominated for ‘Best Soundtrack’ for his work on ‘There Will Be Blood’. The performance next month marks the band’s first live U.S. television performance since 2000."

Have you seen her solo show before?

I've been kicking around the idea as well because I've heard her shows are so fucking fantastic and I've managed to miss The New Pornographers everytime they have been through town.

I'm thinking about her show and AC Newman's show at the Cradle to make up for missed opportunities.

Neko was so awesome when I saw her with the New Pornos. Carl just lisped his way through the show, though.

This brings up an interesting point:

I never knew Carl had a lisp until I saw them live, and then I went back and could hear it on every song.

Please tell me I'm the only one who didn't notice initially on record.

^^^ I don't know how you could have missed it.

On an unrelated note, if seeing Modest Mouse costs $35 and Isaac Brock isn't taking speed OR raping people, what's the point?
