good first game against the cards tonite. 10-1 win. Andruw seems to be finding his swing. I know a .220 average isnt good, but considering it was .198 about 3 weeks ago....its very good.
7/19/2007 10:19:21 PM
Glad we could finally score some runs to go with all the hitting we've been doing
7/19/2007 10:26:11 PM
nice to see franco come back to atlanta and get 2 RBI's in his first game....which is 1/4 of the total RBI's he had with the mets
7/19/2007 10:34:17 PM
was there tonightplaced went wild for Julio...the JU-LI-O chant sounded like the RU-FI-O chant in Hook
7/19/2007 11:01:09 PM
well now theres a decent chance barry is gonna break the record against the braves [Edited on July 19, 2007 at 11:57 PM. Reason : ]
7/19/2007 11:56:49 PM
not if we aim for his knees
7/20/2007 6:40:27 AM
it's kind of fitting. If he does it in Milwaukee, which is where Aaron began and ended his career.Atlanta, no explanation needed.I fucking hate Barry Bonds, but I'm kind of caught up in watching the record breaking homerun... it brings me back to my kid days when I was watching Sosa and McGwire go for Maris.... then I found out they were fakes too...
7/20/2007 9:30:53 AM
I honestly do not think Cox will let him break the record against the Braves out of respect for Hank. Assuming he gets to 755 against or by the time Atlanta shows up in SF, I think Cox will just have each pitcher throw low junk and hope he grounds out.
7/20/2007 2:35:50 PM
I've seen him golf some of those pitches out of the park too...
7/20/2007 2:41:56 PM
I'm talking junk in the dirt. The only players who can hit shit like that are Vlad and Soriano.
7/20/2007 3:42:01 PM
well, in a lil over 24 hours i'll be watchin Buddy Carlyle tear the Cardinals a new one
7/20/2007 5:55:02 PM
i have 3 tickets for August 3rd that i can't use...they are in section 137 row 15if you want them let me know...i want to sell them for about 15-20 each
7/20/2007 6:02:30 PM
spoiled a good effort from chuckie tonight
7/20/2007 10:27:51 PM
soriano has lost his groove
7/20/2007 11:36:05 PM
I was at the 14-6 game last night. Willie Harris is a fucking jet....lol, damn. 6-6 with 2 triples and 6 RBI's is just insane.
7/22/2007 9:54:41 PM
The first 3 hits he had last night came with a bat that had the braves championships listed on it, which was originally supposed to be used as memorabilia.
7/22/2007 9:57:57 PM
and a nice grab from willie tonight... he needs to quit getting hosed at 2nd though.^ and willie actually quit using it after he got the first 3 hits assuming he had used all the hits in that bat up... definitely not a typical action from a baseball player... not using something that keeps working[Edited on July 22, 2007 at 10:07 PM. 7/22/2007 10:05:01 PM
how you gonna groove a fastball to one of the best hitters in baseball. fucking moron
7/22/2007 10:25:21 PM
bullpen, bullpen, bullpen
7/22/2007 11:18:38 PM
nice job jerkoffs
7/22/2007 11:34:37 PM
You guys better pick it up a bit. The Mets lineup is about to be whole again for the first time since the beginning of May.. and Beltran and Delgado are heating up.
7/23/2007 2:25:42 PM
GG to the Braves and Dodgers bullpens yesterday. Instead of the Braves being only 1.5 out, they are 3.5 out and basically just blew a 10 game homestead against shitty teams.
7/23/2007 2:35:09 PM
Just scored tix to the game tonight... I think I'll go. I hear the Braves have some chick named Kelly on the team? Is she hot?
7/23/2007 4:40:30 PM
^ My dad and brother will be at the game tonight in their Braves gear. My bro lives in San Jose - I wish I could be there
7/23/2007 4:44:54 PM
whos the main announcer tonight for the game? He said it looked like an intentional walk against Bonds. haha, the count was 3-2....wtf
7/23/2007 11:00:04 PM
^ Yeah I heard that too last night. What a douche. Smoltz did not pitch around Bonds at all the enitre night. He simply threw a splitter on a 3-2 count hoping Bonds would be aggressive. Smoltz was on last night and if it weren't for Reteria's error and the one bad pitch to Sweeney, he would have thrown a shutout. The Giants lineup is pathetic. Ryan freaking Klesko is Bonds's protection [Edited on July 24, 2007 at 12:22 PM. Reason : he]
7/24/2007 12:21:36 PM
^yeah, their whole team is pathetic. Do they have a guy under the age of 32 out there???Ray Durham, Barry Bonds, Dave Roberts, Randy Wynn, Ryan Klesko......i mean damn
7/24/2007 1:20:38 PM
It's really a shame they suck balls on offense. They have awesome young pitching potential with Lincecum, Lowry, Cain and Sanchez among others. Their farm system sucks. When Kevin Frandsen is your big position prospect you know you're in trouble... They do have a ton of money though and Magowan will spend...I still think A-Rod will be a Giant next year... p.s. - The game last night sucked... except for the beer.[Edited on July 24, 2007 at 9:24 PM. Reason : also... that kelly chick had a good game. She has a pretty decent swing.]
7/24/2007 9:24:12 PM
seriously wickman, just go to hellfdefjiofjdfsiooooooooooooooohenfisouhfsrnfhiscnrcs[Edited on July 25, 2007 at 12:51 AM. Reason : v]
7/25/2007 12:49:27 AM
fuck wickman. How the fuck do you call a guy a closer, when he can't close??
7/25/2007 12:52:00 AM
hudson looks like he's fed up with this crap... and he should be
7/25/2007 12:56:02 AM
My fucking god, how does this happen? I mean really. Hudson pitches an absolute GEM and then it just gets ruined. He even got some great run support. I really hope the Braves trade for Teixera from the Rangers. He is a solid 1B, something the Braves havent had in a long time. I think thats what has kept them back from the next step. They have never had the big power hitting 1B that most championship teams have.
7/25/2007 1:02:44 AM
what kills me is how good this bullpen was supposed to be, and how good they were until the week before the all-star break continued into now. I can't remember the last game that the bullpen didnt give up a few runs
7/25/2007 1:08:16 AM
i say we move moylan to closer
7/25/2007 1:23:16 AM
7/25/2007 1:29:38 AM
Smoltz needs to man the fuck up and move back to closer. Its a lot easier to find a good starter than it is to find a great closer. And Smoltz was one of the best there has ever been. I also have a good bit of money on this game. I had a 4 way parlay going with Atlanta being the last game paying 12-1. Not going to loose a lot if Atlanta looses, but the difference in losing $100 and winning $1100 is huge given the results of this game blowing a 4 run lead in the bottom of the 9th.[Edited on July 25, 2007 at 1:32 AM. Reason : m]
7/25/2007 1:29:57 AM
im tired of watching this piss poor bullpen. Besides Moylan, everyone has been sucking ass.
7/25/2007 2:17:04 AM
well they finally pulled it out, 7-5. I also found this from the atlanta braves site in the "NL Trade Rumors" section:
7/25/2007 2:36:54 AM
That is a horrible move. I didn't want Furcal to go. Then I didn't want Betemit to go. Renteria NEEDS to stay. They need to get Teixeira, move Smoltz to closer, and acquire another starter.
7/25/2007 8:45:25 AM
7/25/2007 9:22:03 AM
They haven't had a true power hitting 1b in about 10 years. I consider that a long time. McGriff did great for a few years in the early and mid 90's. but overall, they really haven't. Sure LaRoche did good LAST year, but before that it was Julio, and a combination of older or undertalented players. And yes, it is easier to find a good starter than it is a GREAT closer. You can go out and make a trade for a good starter, because there are more than them in the league than GREAT closers.
7/25/2007 1:58:22 PM
you guys are crazy if you want smoltz back in the bullpen. the pen is probably the best asset the braves have right now. they're doing a pretty damn good job. smoltz needs to remain a starter. smoltz and hudson can get it done on a regular basis. every other starter the braves throw out there I really have no confidence in. they are all just decent.
7/25/2007 4:52:03 PM
You're pretty much insane if you want Smoltz to move back to closer. You always want to use great pitchers as starters, if they have the arm stamina to do so. Why do you think the Red Sox have toyed with the idea of moving Papelbon to a starter? All the predominant theories on baseball (Moneyball, traditional, etc...) agree that a good starter is more valuable than a great closer.
7/25/2007 5:50:48 PM
^^ how again is the bullpen a strong point for the braves?
7/25/2007 7:38:44 PM
Thats what I wanna know. And how is it INSANE for wanting Smoltz to go back to closer? He was one of the most dominant closers of his time.

7/26/2007 1:20:27 AM
^??? They've blown 6 leads i think in july.Blowing 6 leads in one month /= a good job
7/26/2007 1:23:35 AM
7/26/2007 1:24:11 AM
yeah, okay......they've had a bad stretch this month. big deal. you take the occasional bad with the mostly very good.
