More than a year is too much. I guess they are nailing him on the gambling.
8/20/2007 8:06:56 PM
no matter your team, goin to trial with 3 co'ds labeling you the head, and with america is on animal rightspretty much doa
8/20/2007 8:16:02 PM
Well, that plus the whole actually doing it thing and a lot of evidence and testimony to back it up (at least one would assume since everyone involved took a plea).Yup, there was no getting out of it. It's pretty fucking appalling to be involved in dog fighting, plus Vick is just a dumbshit who wasn't even smart enough to keep shit like this under wraps. I mean, c'mon... Attn: Rich, successful, recognizable athletes - Don't get involved with disgusting, illegal activities. Really, I mean animal abuse and torture is going to get you assraped by the public and the legal system when they think it'll serve a purpose. This would have been no different had this been Peyton Manning running this ring so I don't want to hear about how it was racially motivated (and I know you haven't, J_hova, but some dumb asses are saying it's a race thing).[Edited on August 20, 2007 at 8:22 PM. 8/20/2007 8:33:54 PM
yea, how fucked up is it you can get off easier from murder/assault than hurting an animalyou can argue the "defenseless" "we have to speak for em" shit if you want, but give me a breakI dont even get the appeal of dogfighting if you have money, like do you make that much fucking loot on the shit? When i get rich, I'm buying land and playing golf. Dogfighting, smoking weed, shooting up strip clubs, etc is ridiculous. Only reason I do dumb shit now is cause I can't afford to do some of the more lavish things in life, haha
8/20/2007 8:36:11 PM
If OJ had been in Federal Court he'd have gotten the needle by now.Personally I think the reason that the local DA didn't really go after this is because he knew they didn't have the budget to compete with Vick. Vick would have had the better attorney's and the jury pool would have been sympathetic. Same case as OJ (who c'mon, everyone knows was guilty as sin). The richer and more famous the guy the harder to convict, unless you have the feds unlimited resources to back you up.
8/20/2007 8:39:08 PM
course also this is the federal government we're talking about...not orange county or the city of los angeles or the state of california or whatever...he happened to be clearly the most famous ringleader of the 12 dog fighting rings the feds busted after surveilling them the last 6 years...the feds dont fuck around

can someone explain this? i saw the pic posted in other threads and i took me seeing it 3 times before i figured out what it was
8/20/2007 9:23:23 PM
^^ What he said. Vick could afford the best attorneys that money can buy, and the fact that he's pleaded guilty speaks volumes about his involvement.[Edited on August 20, 2007 at 9:24 PM. Reason : carrots]
8/20/2007 9:24:20 PM
just like was said before, feds don't fuck around, i dont know if any legal eagles could stand up to thatand before somebody gets on that line, i'm not defending Vick at all, but the whole hanging/drowning shit is what i'm weary of unless he flat out admits it.I've seen my friends get thrown under the bus before by other "friends", and it was no where near as big as this
8/20/2007 9:28:59 PM
^your friends been fucked with like that by the feds though?
8/20/2007 9:34:38 PM
8/20/2007 9:36:42 PM
^yeah nothing to do with dogfighting...he had a run in with a hedgehog or porcupine, not a dickhead dogfight ringleader
8/20/2007 9:42:54 PM
^^damn did the people make him fight one?
8/20/2007 10:03:57 PM
all the pitbull had to do was get a spatula, flip the porcupine, and bite its stomach

5 years???It all depends on what he plead guilty to. If he's guilty of leading and financing a underground leage of extraodinary dog fighters then 5 years would be logical. If he's guilty of just fighting some dogs and killing a few then I wouldn't put him in for 5 years. I mean, come on, men abuse their wives and beat their children and get put away for less.

max 2 years, probably more like 8-12 months

^^ that is equivalent to the senate hearings on steroids in baseball, when they should've been dealign with war funding.and yes, it all makes me sick.
8/22/2007 2:13:01 PM
they should bring back OZ on HBO with Vick as the new main character named Vicky
8/22/2007 2:26:02 PM
Panthro, that is great news. It shows just how worthless a once proud and much needed group has fallen. Soon any press release from them will carry as much water as a press release from the KKK.Both groups are clearly out of touch with reality.

Black people.....where are you at in condemning the NAACP chapter of Atlanta for being idiots? HELLO....HELLo.....hello...helanybody
8/22/2007 2:46:26 PM
THe real sad thing is that the NAACP would rather address dog fighting and micheal vick than try to address something of some worth, like I dunno, the fact that their are more blacks in prison than in college. Keep up the good fight. They remind me of that commercial for monster jobs. "Its clear that investing in lottery tickets is not a sound business strategy." LOL

8/22/2007 4:03:39 PM

^^When you might be facing up to 40years for racketeering, etc, and the US government has some good looking evidence, and 3 guys who might be lying to save their own asses, you take the fucking plea for a year or so whether you are guilty or not. Not saying Vick is totally innocent, but he was involved, and I doubt he wanted to risk that much time. Afterall, he was going to be found guilty at trail anyway. Its kind of like this...someone frames you for murder, they do a really really good job. You are looking at a life sentence if you go to trial, or 2 years if you plead guilty. Now whether I did it or not, I am gonna take that 2 years.

Defenders of Vick went from saying"You're all nailing his ass to the wall, at least let him have a fair trial before you say he's guilty!"to"You can't blame him for taking a plea, everybody knows they were gonna find him guilty anyway"
8/22/2007 4:31:58 PM
i hope a white quarterback commits a bunch of crimes and goes on trial just so all the idiots dont play the race card for once]
8/22/2007 4:33:07 PM
Stephon "Starbury" Marbury is now defending Vick.
8/22/2007 4:33:49 PM
Dog Fighting is illegal because enough people thought it was immoral. While you can argue against the masses, it's much harder against a judge.
