If those guys watched the video, didn't they noticed the experiment was suppose to last 540 some days? It has been several years since they started it apparently, so wouldn't they have thought the threat was over by now?

so here's the deal with Lokken:Lokken likes being right and telling people what's going onthen I came along and stole his thunder by telling people they're crazy and wrongbut i did it in a more extravagant way by "bitching at people and complaining about the show"Lokken believes the show is pure genius and I think it's half genius and half crap, depending on the way you look at and how it affects peopleI personally enjoy the show. Until I watch and see how devoted/obsessed/crazy some of you people get.Lokken enjoys the show and doesn't care how people watch it, until I step in.And the best part is people dont' even take their own advice that they give to me. Because apparently I'm supposed to just ignore everything I don't like, but at the same time those same people don't ignore meso because we're all stubborn assholes, we battle back and forth trying to be more right than each otherand it's really retardedbut here are two things that have yet to be explained:"The Others" vs "The Back Half of the Plane"Lokken thinks The Others captured the back half of the planeI think the back half of the plane are being mistaken for The OthersJin and EnglishLokken thinks Jin can speak EnglishI think it's just a flashback of some sorts where we interpret what he's saying as English(that's a huge thing to put in the previews for next week, it was most likely put in so more people will watch, but joke's on them because he won't be really speaking english. this show loves misdirection)

oh yeah thats what i was wondering, if the other stations are on the same island, or different islands nearby, or like the 4 corners of the earth.
10/6/2005 11:51:09 AM
^^ I agree, the clip of Jin speaking english is too big of a giveaway for it to reveal that he knew english all along

Jin was "missing" for a while after the boat ran exploded. Maybe he's working for the others? He looked to have been on the new island for a while. Maybe the koreans aren't really who they say they are.
10/6/2005 12:52:08 PM
wtfnow they're on a new island???
10/6/2005 12:53:48 PM
The -new- island?

The koreans were apparently on the plane's manifest. That's how they caught Ethan.

The island Sawyer, Jin, and Michael washed up on is the same island buddybackpedal?I still said that I think Jin can speak english. And I still say it cant be that big of a surprise. I find it odd you didnt suspect it or even expect it a little.I was actually trying to consent that your argument has merit and that its possible he doesnt. I just dont agree with it.[Edited on October 6, 2005 at 1:27 PM. Reason : ^to joepeschi][Edited on October 6, 2005 at 1:30 PM. Reason : *]

the zoology station has a different symbol than the swan station. we saw that symbol on the shark last episode. it is my thought then that the zoology station is on the island. also the polar bear was on the island, so that adds up. i read that one of the other stations was parapsychology, which would make sense with them wanting to come get walt. of course they were a bit crazy, but they coulda gone crazy by this point. this would imply that the parapsychology station is also on the island. if 3 of the 5 or 6 are on the island, then i figure all of em are and the whole island is/was a research island.[Edited on October 6, 2005 at 2:00 PM. I want to see the Meteorology station. I bet they have some kick-ass, yet old, weather instrumentation.

10/6/2005 2:48:04 PM
you knowis there technically any proof that the island that Sawyer, Jin and Michael washed up on is the same island?

no

I'd like to see what the entrance to the bunker looks like. Jack, Kate and Desmond seemed to all go in and out of it fairly easily. If all these research stations are located on the island, you'd think there'd be more signs of some sort of infrastructure. (roads, powerlines, etc.)Also with the whole "research island gone wrong" theme...it's starting to sound a lot like Jurassic Park.

Here is what our office (specialize in research) put together - we enjoy any other feedback:ALRIGHT PEOPLE - WE NEED A CHARACTER CHECK!There are groups of people on the island we have broken into three catagories:Philos0phersWritersThieves (which have ties to the writers as well in the form of playwrights or novel characters)PHILOSOPHERS:Rousseau - Rousseau saw a fundamental divide between society and human nature. Rousseau contended that man was good by nature, a "noble savage" when in the state of nature (the state of all the "other animals", and the condition humankind was in before the creation of civilization and society), but is corrupted by society. He viewed society as artificial and held that the development of society, especially the growth of social interdependence, has been inimical to the well-being of human beings. In 1754, Rousseau returned to Geneva, where he reconverted to Calvinism and regained his official Genevan citizenship. In 1755 Rousseau completed his second major work, the Discourse on the Origin and Basis of Inequality Among Men. Beginning with this piece, Rousseau's work found him increasingly in disfavor with the French government. This brings us to Calvin - Desmonds partner in the "Skinner Box":CALVIN - John Calvin (July 10, 1509 – May 27, 1564) was a prominent Christian theologian during the Protestant Reformation and is the namesake of the system of Christian theology called Calvinism. Calvin view is that it is thought that this reflects the young male character's belief in predestination (as justification for his behavior). Which Brings us to John Locke (the philosopher and character):Locke - John Locke (August 29, 1632 – October 28, 1704) was a 17th-century English philosopher concerned primarily with society and epistemology. Locke's notions of a "government with the consent of the governed" and people's natural rights—life, liberty, and property—had an enormous influence on the development of political philosophy. His ideas, which formed the basis for the concepts used in American law and government, allowing the colonists to justify revolution, are often contrasted with his practice of investing in the English slave-trade. Locke's epistemology and philosophy of mind also had a great deal of significant influence well into the Enlightenment period. Locke exercised a profound influence on subsequent philosophy and politics. His remarks concerning liberty and the social contract later influenced the written works of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and other Founding Fathers of the United States. In particular, the Declaration of Independence drew upon many 18th century political ideas, derived from the works of Locke. See the John Locke Foundation for more...SO - Rousseau wrote the SOCIAL CONTRACT and JOHN LOCKE completes the organic nature of my thinking.....WRITERS:Walt - Walt Whitman American Poet and Philospher/HumanistKate Austen - duhhh!Hugo (Hurley) - Victor Hugo. Also, Hugo is a masculine name. It is a latinized form of the name Hugh, a German/Teutonic name meaning "Bright in Mind and Spirit".Hugo - also short for the human genome project!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THIEVES:Jack Sheppard - A carpenter's son, John Sheppard (better known in life as Jack Sheppard, even 'Gentleman Jack' or 'Jack the Lad') was born in London's Spitalfields area in 1702. Although his father died while Sheppard was young and the boy spent time in a workhouse, he entered into the same trade as his father, but he fell into bad company and began to augment his day-to-day earnings with the proceeds of a series of break-ins and thefts. His life was turned into a play.SAWYER (or James Ford) - Tom Sawyer...a boy dreamer and drifter. THIS MAKES MORE SENSE: James Ford was an American civic leader and business owner in southern Illinois at the turn of the 19th century. Despite his clean public image, he was also secretly a river pirate and the leader of a gang that would come to be known as "Ford's Ferry Gang". His gang was the river equivalent of highway robbers; they would hijack ferries and flatboats with tradable goods from local farms coming down the Ohio River. At one point, they used the "Cave-in-Rock" as their headquarters, on the Illinois side of the lower Ohio River, which is about 85 miles below Evansville, Indiana. Both characters have ties to "river running"ALSO,Claire Rutherford - is the name of two great British scientists (Nuclear Physics and Chemistry)Boone - Daniel Boone?Dr. Christian Sheppard - hmmm, interesting?

i think someone on the Lost staff has officially said the guy's name was Kelvin, not Calvin. i cant find the link though, so no sense tossing aside that part yetsomeone said closed captioning said kelvin, but there was something more official than that, i just cant find itlord kelvin though supposedly worked with electromagnetism, so that would make sense.[Edited on October 6, 2005 at 3:38 PM.
