Yeah did them?
2/3/2011 3:28:21 PM
Bottom line is that I didn't mention Sid in my post...I just talked about Crean. You brought him up and it started a discussion comparing the two...which you continued in the entirety of one your later posts.
2/3/2011 3:37:00 PM
I'm sorry that I made a post so complicated that you could not comprehend it and jumped to comparing Sid v. Crean head to head (no 41 point losses LOLOL).I'll try to make my future posts on a reading level low enough for you to absorb their intended meanings.]

Crean > Lowe[Edited on February 3, 2011 at 4:09 PM. Reason : oh yeah]
2/3/2011 4:03:21 PM
I'm not fucking comparing their situations. Not on a Sid would have done this at Indiana Crean would have done this here level.I only pointed out that some of the same people who wouldn't fucking listen when it was explained to them that Sid was put in a rough spot were more than willing to give Crean the benefit of the doubt. The point of that post, which for some reason you just can't wrap your pretty little head around, was simply that. Crean had a terrible situation, produced terrible results; Sid had a bad situation, produced bad results. There is no comparison between the two situations. I'm merely pointing out the hypocrisy of the brain-dead retards that surround me.]

If you had to rank them, in order of best coach to worst coach, who would you put first?
2/3/2011 4:23:51 PM
1)Sid Lowe2)John Wooden3)K.......10309)Crean

Sidney Lowe is a Lion amongst men

a food lion that is

I'm admittedly new to the "who will our next coach be?" stuff ... I was pulling for Lowe, so didn't really chime in on his potential replacements. I rarely even looked at this thread until now, so I'm sure all my ideas have been discussed somewhere on here. That said, why not Steve Fisher? I know he's a pretty old dude -- probably mid-60s -- but if we want to turn this program around quickly, he'd be the guy to do it I'd think. He's turned SDSU into a top 10 team for crying out loud. He also won a national title at Michigan. And if Chris Webber wasn't a moron, he'd probably have two to his name.If it were me, there's no way I'd leave a good gig in San Diego for a perenial pressure-cooker in Raleigh. But he seems crazy enough to do it.
2/3/2011 5:26:50 PM
The only old dude we might get maybe is Tubby.
2/3/2011 5:29:56 PM
Mehhh, you're probably right. Good article on coach of the year candidates (Fisher is No. 2). Some interesting options maybe? Especially these two

Young coach >>> Old geezerWe already have an old coach for football. I've had the old bull, now I want the young calf.
2/3/2011 5:47:52 PM
I'd prefer a guy with local recruiting ties over someone from the west coast
2/3/2011 5:49:03 PM
Rose has pancreatic cancer I think, and Bennett will probably never leave the west coast.
2/3/2011 5:51:10 PM
Randy Bennett looks really familiar [Edited on February 3, 2011 at 5:54 PM. Reason : a better shot]

Bullet, please educate us on Lowe's brilliant offensive sets once again
2/3/2011 5:57:43 PM
I think we should get Ruffin Mcneill
2/3/2011 6:00:09 PM
there's absolutely nothing wrong with lowe's offensive sets
2/3/2011 6:10:25 PM
How about the set where we shoot three pointers or jumpers 6 inches inside the arc with 30+ seconds left on the shot clock while everyone on our team stands there and watches. We run that one an awful lot, it seems.[Edited on February 3, 2011 at 6:13 PM. Reason : fudge]
2/3/2011 6:12:29 PM
2/3/2011 6:18:29 PM
that doesn't happen as often as you'd like us to believe. generally the sets we run, when we run them, will result in a good shot. whether we make that shot is a completely different story

I really wanted Crean back in 06 after we missed on Barnes and Cal.. i know at one time, he was a "rumored" candidate, but I am pretty sure he never was approached by Coach Fowler..I also remembered how people really wanted Chris Lowery from S Ill (i was intrigued by him).. and S Ill has been terrible since 06 so i guess it was a good thing we didn't go in that directionBut still, I would love to have Crean, and it would be a HUGE MASSIVE upgrade over what we have now.Still No. 1 on my "dream" list is Mike AndersonRealistically though, it will probably be a mid major like Chris MackI was also trying to think of all the coaches we went through last time or that were rumored on PackPride or here:BarnesCalWrightMike MontgomeryJohn BeilenChris LoweryLon KrugerSteve LavinTim Floydany others that i'm forgetting?[Edited on February 3, 2011 at 6:36 PM. Needs more time with his guys
2/3/2011 11:48:25 PM
The next coach should keep Sidney Lowe around to coach PGs, get Hodge to coach wing players, and Thurl to coach big men (despite neither of the last two guys having any coaching experience). Oh, and the next coach should be Lee Fowler.
2/4/2011 12:34:21 AM
We should immediately replace Debbie Yow with Marty Hurney
2/4/2011 12:53:16 AM
^fuck that we need george shinn. he'd move our athletics somewhere he thinks would be more profitable... like New Orleans. How many ACC schools would we have to compete with for recruits in New Orleans?
