legit talent a few years in a row will give us a legit shot at being back on the acc map. i am really excited about how we are recruiting. even in last years class i do not remember us having this many quality kids considering us.

rpurvis_44 Rodney PurvisI'm not leaning to any 3 of my top schools. Duke, Nc State & Missouri are all on the same level with me..
6/18/2011 8:59:47 PM
missouri? didn't they just hire a new coach?oops.
6/18/2011 9:13:12 PM
^frank haith...but their new assistant is the assistant he committed to at Louisville
6/18/2011 9:52:31 PM
i guess he could conceivably go to Missouribut i can't help but think it is truly between State and Dukefuck Duke etc.
6/19/2011 3:22:32 AM
^^ over your head, i see.
6/19/2011 8:51:31 AM
Duke has so many guards. He would immediately start if he went to State.
6/20/2011 11:59:00 AM
^That's generally the case when great teams are competing with poor ones for the same recruits, but it doesn't seem to change things.
6/20/2011 12:03:04 PM
hypothetical, and way too early, but if Purvis joined, would Zo continue to start at point with lewis backing him up, and purvis start at the 2? and graham split time at the 2/3[Edited on June 20, 2011 at 12:20 PM. Reason : ]
6/20/2011 12:04:47 PM
I don't see any reason for Zo not to start unless Lewis is definitively better than he is. Zo will be our next leader, in my opinion.
6/20/2011 12:06:38 PM
^oh, i wasn't questioning if zo will start, i think that's a given. just wondering if it will be at the 1.
6/20/2011 12:12:24 PM
He will start at the 1 unless it becomes apparent someone else is better suited for it. Gottfried has pretty much already said that.
6/20/2011 12:36:11 PM
(bascially, i'm asking: if purvis comes in 2012, will zo start at the 1 and purvis at the 2? hypothetically, of course)
6/20/2011 12:43:22 PM
Yeah...unless Lewis is just a better PG (which is doubtful in Lewis' freshman year), then I would assume Zo would continue starting at PG. Purvis probably at the 2. Lewis backing Zo up would also allow Zo to move to the 2 at times. [Edited on June 20, 2011 at 12:51 PM. Reason : ]
6/20/2011 12:49:14 PM
Don't forget 5* Torian Graham. But unless he comes in and immediately outshines Purvis or Wood, i think he'll be backing them up at the 2 and the 3. What'll happen if we have Zo, Purvis, Reinhardt, Graham, Lewis, and Raymond on the same roster?
6/20/2011 1:28:06 PM
When will we start hearing things about these recruits committing? Anybody know the deadline?
6/20/2011 1:42:06 PM
Purvis said Feb. 14
6/20/2011 1:46:07 PM
^^^if that's the case, go ahead and assume Raymond never sees the court
6/20/2011 2:19:45 PM
6/20/2011 2:23:57 PM
^^How are you going to say that before he ever plays a game? He may be the next Jack McClinton. But yeah, if it came to that, he'd probably transfer. As nice as that would be though, I'd rather have a big guy in 2012 as opposed to 4 guards. But it's all hypothetical.
6/20/2011 2:31:08 PM
Pants will be shat.
6/20/2011 4:03:33 PM
looks like gottifried go to 3 guards if we land all these guys. i would not see a problem with the height and length of these guards coming in.
6/20/2011 4:46:34 PM

So we're following the fathers of recruits now...Thats it for me, folks. I officially retire from these threads. Wake me up in October.
6/20/2011 9:05:05 PM
Honestly, it deserved to be reposted for this page.
6/20/2011 9:06:49 PM
^^ retweeted by other sources will do the trick. I'm happy for any news, quotes, rumors, etc.. during this incredible sports season called summer.
6/20/2011 9:55:50 PM
I didn't even realize it had been posted already. My b. Late to the party.

our staff is doing one helluva job right now. im just amazed. Moxley and Lutz were such HUGE hires. what a staff
6/21/2011 9:30:13 AM
I liked what I heard recently - someone said we got a 2-for-1 deal for coaches with Gottfried and LutzIt makes me sad already to think that Lutz might be gone by next summer
6/21/2011 9:41:41 AM
why would he leave?
6/21/2011 9:46:16 AM
I think MORRI is threatening coach Lutz
6/21/2011 9:53:45 AM
^^I'm guessing it's because he's got a decent track record as a HC and may be looking to get another HC job eventually. That may not be what MORRI was referring to though...
6/21/2011 10:03:34 AM
it is
6/21/2011 10:05:44 AM
Lutz signed a two year contract and said he was committed to finishing it out (although he wants to be a head coach again). He also has 2 more years of Charlotte paying him as long as he doesn't take another head coaching position. Look for him to leave after 2 years.
6/21/2011 10:07:48 AM
6/21/2011 10:52:57 AM
^LOL at Paul Hewitt's contract...that never gets old.
6/21/2011 10:57:40 AM
i almost wish we would have hired him and paid him like a thousand bucks.almost.but then i remember how shitty of a coach he is.

6/21/2011 12:27:26 PM
wow, that's awesome
6/21/2011 2:02:23 PM
It's not that surprising though. Why wouldn't people believe his tweets if he had worked so long to make himself seem like a trustworthy source?
6/21/2011 2:20:42 PM
i think its more the "what an awesome source" if you tweet/post positive info and "that guy is such a POS, who ever heard of him?" if you tweet/post negative info.that's the biggest kick i get out of IC, they do EXACTLY that and they even do it to trusted recruiting services/people.The Savon Huggins thing was the funniest recruitment following ive ever seen over there.
6/21/2011 3:15:57 PM
6/21/2011 3:17:41 PM
It's not really that funny. He did a ton of legwork and basically acted as an aggregate of information. I guess the joke was supposed to be on his 500? followers that might of thought he was a legitimate source.Regardless, it just shows how hungry the public is for information on recruits. It's analogous to tabloids readers and their fascination with celebrities. Those publications get big bucks to get the exclusive interview or score the premier picture. Sometimes they get away with making stuff up, too.Reality or not, it's the drama that everyone craves. It's nice to have an elite player commit to your school but if you hadn't been following his every move for the last 2 years, it wouldn't mean as much.

that link was hilarious, he trolled the shit out of all types of fans and sportswriters
6/21/2011 6:44:50 PM
i think it says a lot about the state of journalism these days. a lot of these guys don't really check their sources, just throw out whatever info they see. it's just different nowadays because news moves at such a fast rate that no one is ever called out for using a garbage source or being completely wrong.
