Sell shoes? No NCAA infractions. Government goes after the school.
Academic fraud, illegal benefits, agents working as staff? 9 major NCAA infractions. Government goes after the terrible, terrible people that would dare get any of their students into trouble.

lol at that picture of Red.

Someone should make a flowchart with the many faces of these on-going UNC scandals showing all the inter-connections and blatant LOI. From Man Tits Austin to Butch to Thorpe to Nyrango (sp?) to Wiley to Black Santa, etc.

Wah wah. Folks are suggesting UNC athletics should change. But they bring people together, so whatever they do should be fine, because it helps people socialize.

LOL, that whole article is a farce, but the bolded part brings the lulz

Quote :
"Smith and Margolis may want a campus where all of their classes are filled with the brightest and the best. If so, teach at Middlebury or Amherst. No, not Duke and Stanford (or the Ivy League), because those school admit exceptions and tutor the hell out of them to stay eligible. All Division I schools do.

But it’s not like the so-called big-time athletic schools are overrun with quasi-qualifiers. Carolina has more than 700 scholarship athletes and the vast majority are bright, talented and hard-working students who shine in so many different ways. A handful of football players and a few rogue coaches nearly brought the entire program down, and because of them has come the Athletic Reform Group?"

^^ The thing that stuck out to me most was this:

Quote :
"Duenta Williams, who was here just three years ago, owns a Zaxby’s franchise with three stores."

Where did a 25 year-old get the kind of cash needed to open 1 Zaxby's, much less 3 of them?

Per http://www.franchise.org/Zaxbys_Franchising_Inc_franchise.aspx:

Quote :
"The initial franchise fee due to Zaxby’s Franchising, Inc. is currently $35,000 per restaurant. Zaxby’s licensees also pay an on-going royalty rate of 6%. The initial investment to open a Zaxby’s restaurant, exclusive of real estate costs, is $230,500 - $511,400. "

I seriously doubt he had the credit history needed to get a bank loan for all of that...nor does it seem like he would've made all of that money between now and when he tried to turn pro in 2011. I say tried because I can't find anything to show that he ever signed with an NFL team, much less was drafted.

^ Good for him if he pulled that off in a legit fashion, but I have a very hard time believing that he is running three restaraunts on his own, all funded with his own cash/loans. Maybe his family has money.

But why would people (agents) throw money at a player who is not going to make them any money?

[Edited on October 16, 2013 at 4:19 PM. Reason : ^likely. As long as it happened after he graduated, those benefits aren't improper]

"unquestioned starting quarterback" ... "because of the season-ending injury of"

they'll spin anything over there, won't they?

ironically, i thought williams looked better anyway, at least against us.

Williams was their best option at QB IMO. Renner was more accurate and all, but Williams opened up the playbook for Fedora. Oh well hope he suffers an season ending injury too.

^I hope WRAL does a full WRAL Investigates story now that UNC has sent this. Because the Tarholes got out the knives when State did this with Leak, yet I'm sure its nothing but a good thing for UNC to do this and them being "pro-active" even though these guys have all been fucking indicted already.

These poor college athletes. Had to wait 5 days to play a ps4. While I'm sure every normal college student had one on the release date and have already leveled up their accounts.

^Some stores had extra PS4s or extra preorders kinda last minute. It's possible that someone could have gone to a store and they had an extra, but supposedly this was incredibly rare.
