£25m? That's Fellaini type money there. He's real good but not sure it appreciably makes the team better. Must be nice to plunk that cash down like it's nothing knowing at least £60-70m more is coming on a DM and CB at the very least.Honestly if Fellaini is going to continue to play centrally just sell ADM to PSG. They will pay a fuckton and he would be used correctly..[Edited on May 7, 2015 at 8:09 AM. Reason : Great young player depay is tho]

wazza31Just for clarification so we can revisit in a few months. In your world, what constitutes a "spending spree" vs. a normal transfer window?[Edited on May 7, 2015 at 8:20 AM. Reason : 31]
5/7/2015 8:20:25 AM
I know the season isnt over but any of you guys have a wish list for transfer business.I'll try and stay realistic on mine.Out: Jenkinson, Diaby (lol), Flamini, Szezscny, Welbeck (honestly this isn't happening but in a fit squad Giroud up top and a host of players outside --- though his work rate would be missed against attacking sides). If the right offer comes Cazorla only because he is wrong side of 30 and Wilshere, Ramsey and Ox all will be central. With their injury history though, that is way to huge a risk. In: Schneiderlin (need someone to compete with Coq), a CB to displace Per, a legit second striker. And my pipe dream of Marco Reus to complete the attack.[Edited on May 7, 2015 at 8:55 AM. Reason : Fixed]
5/7/2015 8:54:42 AM
All I want is one player that makes the starting XI better, preferably a forward. Who knows if that'll even happen. Anything more than that is gravy.
5/7/2015 8:57:59 AM
You should make a bid for Januzaj.. He clearly has no future with the rent boys up north.[Edited on May 7, 2015 at 9:07 AM. Reason : Incoming WALL. OF. TEXT.]
5/7/2015 9:06:59 AM
i don't rate him and don't think he'd make LFC better.
5/7/2015 9:21:41 AM
Honestly, I don't see Januzaj blossoming into a star...he doesn't work hard and he doesn't make good decisions. He's got terrific technical skills, obviously, but for me he'll be one of those bright young footballers who come to nothing special.]

We've got some lines in the waternow we wait...

Anything over 60 million pounds would be a spending spree. United often averaged around 50 million pounds under sir alex. I am not going to complain if we go on another spending spree but it needs to be the right players. This season only Shaw, Herrera, Blind, and Rojo were worth it. Angel and Falcao probably shouldn't have been signed. That said, Angel still has something to offer and can easily be a better player next year. I agree Fellaini needs to be dropped. Play Angel centrally with Depay on the left and Mata/Januzaj on the right. LVG wants to make Januzaj a striker, would be interesting to see if that would work. Januzaj has a future at United and I think it will be a good one once he gets consistent playing time. Out: Falcao, Nani, Chicha, and Evans. In: Schneiderlin or Gundogan, a CB to pair with Smalling and rotate with Jones/Rojo. RWB to pair with Valencia.Pipe Dream: Pogba.Promote Wilson, Perriera, and Januzaj. Along with McNair that is good depth and rotation hopefully. If we make the CL then we will have plenty of chances for the youth products. That would be a productive summer. I think instead of throwing money at people like Bale we would do well do maximize our academy graduates. Give them a chance to prove their worth. If it doesn't work then throw money at someone in January. On Depay:I am excited we have a pacy winger again with technical talent. Depay has tremendous potential but I am not going to speculate on how he may do. Could go either way, I just hope we are patient in the first year. [Edited on May 7, 2015 at 1:11 PM. 5/7/2015 1:41:52 PM
lol. I am worried Depay may turn into another Nani. Great when he is on form but horribly inconsistent. Lets see.

Carrick out. Fantastic. Gonna fuck it up, congrats Liverpool for the 4th spot.

A contentious pen and a Fellaini header. United to a tee this year..
5/9/2015 2:25:07 PM
That header was too easy. Men against Arsenal.
5/9/2015 3:56:54 PM
good riddance QPR
5/10/2015 9:55:53 AM
Arsenal would be 7th or 8th without Sanchez, what's your point? Lol. Champions league qualification! Goal for the season achieved. Keep on hating and whining about lucky united.
5/10/2015 1:05:30 PM
^ no.But United deserved fourth with how shit the rest of the comp has been.
5/10/2015 2:28:42 PM
This United team isn't that much better than United with Moyes. It practically is the same team because all the money they spent hasn't transformed the team. Falcao? Bust. Di Maria? Let down. Shaw? Fat. Herrera/Blind? Serviceable but hardly game changers over the course of the season. They're getting it done with De Gea, Carrick, Mata, Young, Rooney, and Fellaini. Basically what I'm saying is that Moyes > LVG
5/10/2015 3:07:22 PM
No real difference to me. If last years Liverpool is playing this season United is in Europa. The only huge difference is De Gea went from really good to close to once in a generation good. He has won them 6 or 7 games by himself. I may troll about it but one man teams are still good teams. RVP for Arsenal, Suarez for Liverpool and him for United. Obviously other players contribute but wohtout those guys those teams don't come close to what they were.(LVGs business last summer was shockimg tbh. Not a single buy was worth it. Mata and Fellaini came good but those are Moyes buys)[Edited on May 10, 2015 at 6:58 PM. Reason : DAT PHILOSOPHY DOE]
5/10/2015 6:57:18 PM
^ trollinJanuzaj will be fine. Wilson needs to go on loan. Di Maria will probably be off, which is fine because Nani (of all people) will be back and he's regained his confidence and form. Hummels and Gundogan are locks. Hopefully Clyne, too, because Valencia is goddamned awful at RB. I think he's been directly at fault for at least 6 goals this year, if not more. I think we need at least 2 RB signings this summer - either Clyne and someone else, or McNair gets groomed for that position and he's no longer played at CB.Also need at least 1 striker. The only one who's been worth a shit, and even then only in spurts this season has been Rooney. Benteke would be choice, if not for his injury record.
5/10/2015 6:59:51 PM
Lol shaw wasn't worth it? Guess he is a bust at 20. Shaw has also had impressive performances, his season has been stop/start due to injury. If United had given up on De Gea after 1 season you lot wouldn't have your 1 man team excuse. Blind has literally won us at least 3 to 4 points, not really sure where criticism for him is coming from. Herrera has been pivotal and our best signing. Rojo has also been good and certainly far from a bust. Di Maria in a "terrible" year has had the second most assists in the league. Lol. Falcao has been the only player who has fallen well and truly short. Di Maria has been disappointing but I believe will be much much better next year, unless he is sold to PSG. Either you lot are just blind or blatantly trolling when you say herrera, blind, and rojo haven't made a difference. The fact that you say this is essentially the same squad Moyes has then that just makes Moyes look that much more incompetent.[Edited on May 11, 2015 at 12:11 AM. 5/11/2015 1:23:18 AM
^^ I don't disagree about Shaw but you have to admit LVG has been a cocksucker to him. Some players don't respond at 19 well to be being called a fat slob.Herrera has been ok. Rojo and Blind have no place in a traditional United squad.
5/11/2015 8:44:19 AM
to be fair, he is a fat slob
5/11/2015 9:06:12 AM
I trust Van Gaal to know what he is doing and still too early to judge Shaw. He has talent and I have seen glimpses. If he can focus and work hard he can definitely flourish. Sure saying he wasn't fit enough may not have been the greatest thing to say but if Shaw has the right attitude he would have taken that on the chin and worked hard to impress Van Gaal. Seeing as how whenever he is fit he does start I am sure he does enough in training to do so.Blind and Rojo have no place in a traditional united squad? Lets not forget a traditional united squad included players like Nicky Butt, John O'Shea, and Wes Brown. Blind and Rojo have a place here and Blind is exactly the kind of utility player a team with depth requires.Should United make it past the CL qualifiers they will need the depth that Rojo and Blind provide. They aren't world beaters but they are solid players who put in a good shift. Both players are also only 25 so plenty of room to improve with experience.

Good year overall. Arsenal were too poor early on and city were too poor later on to really challenge Chelsea. I believe the PL is poised nicely for next year if Arsenal can continue their good form and add more quality, especially in defence. If Arsenal can lure someone like Hummels to the emriates they may get to celebrate a title. Right now for me its a toss up between Arsenal and Chelsea for the title. City will likely spend big and United at a minimum must challenge for the title next year. I would be happy with Finishing 2nd or 3rd with a title challenge until March. Hopefully a capital one cup or FA Cup as well. That would show progress. Pool could go either way and if they sign some valuable players may regain some confidence and form. For me there are question marks for pool at the spine of the team. Are Skrtl and Sakho good enough to win a title? Who will be the CDM, Can? Most importantly where is their 25 goal striker? Big questions for pool but if Rodgers can address that they can be back. With the increased revenue I also expect the smaller teams to open their cheque books and I feel there will be some very good upsets next year as well. This year felt like a transition year for the premier league. The balance of power has certainly shifted back to London from the north now. I think we may be in for an exciting one next year, at least I hope the title race, top 4 race, and relegation battles go down to the last day next season.

Meant to say starting XI fwiw, not squad^^ want no part of Hummel's. He is a good distributer but really isn't a top class out and out defender..[Edited on May 11, 2015 at 10:16 AM. Reason : x]

Interesting dynamic for 6th/7th with Southampton and Spurs. Southampton allegedly wants Europa League, but hasn't been playing like it. Spurs was atrocious vs Stoke, so they're playing like they definitely don't want Europa, which is understandable because their one year in the Champions League they didn't play in Europa the year before. Only Swansea can catch either one of them, but they have Arsenal today and then Man City.Of course if Arsenal wins the FA Cup the 7th place team get into the Europa League to the delight of Southampton or the detriment of Spurs.
5/11/2015 10:55:33 AM
I don't know a single Spurs fan that wants Europa football. We don't have the squad depth and it's too taxing with league matches just a couple days later.
5/11/2015 12:48:28 PM
Exactly. The Europa League is good for clubs that are trying to build towards the Champions League or just finally get into European competition. It definitely drains clubs more than the CL because it requires more games to win.It doesn't help you to continually qualify for Europa because the money isn't enough to offset the taxing nature of the competition.
5/11/2015 3:20:26 PM
Lol Swansea parks a gigantic bus and converts there only chance.
5/11/2015 4:44:24 PM
5/11/2015 7:53:07 PM
I hear ya. For a lower tier club, the money will help, but it quickly loses its appeal if your in it year in and year out because it does drain clubs with minimal depth.
5/11/2015 10:24:37 PM
the Europa League kinda reminds me of Prohibition...it's an impracticable new institution that's going to last until enough people say "This fucking sucks" and get rid of it. But it's too soon to abandon it just yet, decently.

Update Transfer WishlistConfirmed:Depay - WingerIn:Gundogan - CMDarmian - RWBLaporte - CB. Hopefully not Hummels but maybe Van Gaal can get him playing well again after what he has done for Fellaini and Young. Would love OtamendiOut:ChicharitoNaniEvansCleverleyFalcaoIf De Gea leaves I can see Bale coming the other way. If Bale comes I think Di Maria is off. I also hope we are keeping tabs on Pogba. If we are going to blow 80 million plus on a player I really hope it is Pogba and not Bale.I really hope we don't sign a striker. Give Rooney the season to play up front, RVP on the bench, and give Wilson playing time. If we must sign a striker for depth then wouldn't mind someone like Ings for cheap or just keep Chicha or extend Falcao's loan. [Edited on May 14, 2015 at 1:01 PM. Reason : .]
