Two weeks ago the ESPNFC app had Watford 3rd in the Premier League (which contained 27 teams).

Defoe off to Toronto in January. There goes Spurs' hopes for the Europa League.

Oh, and also AVB will be gone by the end of the year, so there's that

Is there seriously not a better RB in England than Kyle Walker. I don't care if he scored, he is all pace and nothing else... And when did Valencia turn beast again?

A draw would be my best case in this game. I can see 3-2 United though..

Yeah, England doesn't have good RBs... Smalling and Jones are better, but they're really CBs who fill in when needed.

Fuck me, what a hit from Sandro. Of course Cleverly nowhere to be found on closing him down.

Gotta love the christmas period. United has forced themselves into a corner and can't afford to drop any points over this period if they are legitimate title challengers. The next 7 games are winnable for United but the inconsistency probably means there will be dropped points (Most likely today against Everton).

Arsenal and Chelsea in a two way race I think after this month.

I am done with Moyes. He is way out of his league. This man has ruined a title winning team. What an absolute disaster from the United executives and Sir Alex. Moyes has no bottle and is completely out his depth.

Yep, we suck without RvP and Carrick. Fellaini was a rock in midfield, like literally a rock. Dude shows no urgency

Gone from maybe Moyes is finally finding his groove to an absolute colossal fuck up in 3 matches. How Arsenal lost to this horrible excuse for a manager is beyond me. Even Tottenham had enough bottle to come back today.

Which is pretty incredible.

I don't see the big deal with Suarez. Even Arshavin scored 4 in a game once.

^ agree.

watching MOTD, didn't look like United were too bad. Really unlucky not to get a few goals tonight, at least that's how it seemed from the highlights.

also it's too bad for Hazard that Suarez stole all the attention today because he balled the hell out

^ Well yes United had the chances but it was an open match with both teams having patches of control. For me its very simple. United can't create anything through the middle. Our midfield is bypassed way too easily. Moyes had a whole summer to make this situation much easier for himself and together with the United backroom he squandered that chance. Its pretty clear Fellaini wasn't first choice and he was only signed once United were desperate and needed someone. Well I have always believed signing someone for the sake of signing someone is worse than not signing anyone. Felliani falls into that category. This United team is slow on the counter (United's bread and butter last three years) and weak in defense with an aging Vidic and Rio. Moyes has put himself in this situation and that is why I blame him.

In the end I believe Moyes is a good manager, not a top manager but good enough to win your team an odd trophy or two given the right resources and time. I just don't think Moyes is the right fit for United. He is too timid and in modern football timidity hasn't gotten a team anywhere.

I like how Sir Alex Ferguson said, in his farewell speech, "Be patient with the new manager. It may take some time for the club to gel under him" (or words to that effect)

and now, halfway through his first season, those words are totally being ignored and everybody is out for Moyes' blood

lol and it's not like Moyes has brought in a bunch of new players and implemented some crazy new 3 at the back formation.

He's basically just doing the same thing, except this year his players are older and not as good and his world class striker has been hurt.

Sir Alex left the cupboard bare. Time for Moyes to spend some money in Jan and make a run for the CL places.

Arguably their two most important players are hurt right now and three of their first choice back four are aging.

Still should make CL spot though. Next six fixtures are comparatively easy..

Jeffery the United fan base would be patient if the football on the pitch warranted it. The fact is United's football has been dire because the midfield is just not good enough. When Southampton and West Brom can walk all over your midfield it isn't going to make for great viewing. Moyes is too defensive. He also is very uninspiring in every press conference. Moyes is basically trying to lower the expectations and that was always going to be a problem with the United fans. I bet the majority of the fans in the stands yesterday weren't calling for Moyes' head or booing even. I also believe if Moyes is willing to change his tactics, which I believe he will eventually from the defensive show (there have been signs when United have Jones, Carrick, and RVP starting) but as I said he doesn't have time. If he doesn't finish in the top 4 how are United going to hold on to Rooney and RVP? It just won't happen. If Moyes and United don't make 1 or two decent signings in January and offload some of the dead weight in the squad, Moyes will run out of time.
