I don't actually know anyone IRL who is a Rick Santorum supporter.^^ i bet Santorum is a closet homosexual too. for good measure: http://spreadingsantorum.com/

^That says more about you than Rick Santorum.I don't know anyone in real life who was hard-core for, or even very sympathetic to, Obama's 2008 candidacy. But I recognize that is only representative of the circles I live in.
1/5/2012 3:07:49 AM
McCain got a hard question on his sponsorship of Romney and had absolutely no answer. He had called Romney in 2008 "a manager not a leader", and when asked about it on CNN he was all "Well, politics is a collision sport, but Mitt and I agree on many issues herpaderp...."
1/5/2012 7:41:19 AM
I don't know why he wouldn't just respond honestly.Back then we were opponents in a political race, so of course I'm going to go after him any way I can.[Edited on January 5, 2012 at 9:24 AM. Reason : .]

^For some reason, people prefer consistency over honesty, even when they're blatantly lying. I don't get it either.

Holy shit, I fucking hate Rick Santorum.http://youtu.be/1Gwwmm-cQxUSantorum: "They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and regulations low, that we shouldn't get involved in the bedroom or in cultural issues. That is not how traditional conservatives view the world."
1/5/2012 2:05:54 PM
wow. that is some high stupidity there, if that is how he really meant it. "real conservatives want the government to control everything." wait, what?
1/5/2012 3:09:14 PM
To be fair, "conservative" is nearing uselessness. It changes every decade, and for the past ten years, conservative has been used interchangeable with Republican. None of that changes how offensive his statement there is, though.Santorum is a joke. The media talks about how Ron Paul is unelectable, but Santorum takes unelectability to a whole new level. The guy would get thrashed in every single swing state. This is a guy that took home his stillborn child and slept with it between him and his wife.

I'll take Mitt Romney's magic pajamas over Rick Santorum's dead baby any day
1/5/2012 4:11:40 PM
I get the point they were trying to make to their family. If you're that hardline on fetus=baby then I can see wanting to hammer the message home to your children. But that's a really extreme way to do it. Creepy extreme.
1/5/2012 4:14:33 PM
I get the impression that Santorum would like to make the gov a full blown catholic theocracy
1/5/2012 4:22:21 PM
The GOP needs to rid itself of this Christianist/Theocratic cancer before the gays and drunkards are put in concentration camps. How will housewives live without Bravo?!
1/5/2012 4:22:43 PM
^^ with the added irony that they absolutely hate islamic theocracies because they are so oppressive and we must "free those people"
1/5/2012 4:27:20 PM
i can't believe it's even legal to bring a dead baby home from the hospital
1/5/2012 4:34:01 PM
well of course, they go about oppression all wrong...Women should be allowed to go to school, just not have jobs afterwardsGays shouldn't be publicly executed, just social lepersYour shouldn't be forcibly restricted in your religion, just have every public policy favor the "right" one.Wars shouldn't be fought in order to simply spread your ideals and influence.....errrr well, at least they can agree on something
1/5/2012 4:37:47 PM
Making a 6 year old cuddle with a corpse of a 20 week old fetus is child abuse in my book.
1/5/2012 4:42:57 PM
i know. what 20-week old fetus wants to cuddle with a 6-year-old? come on!so, his wife wrote a book on etiquette for children. i wonder if she includes a chapter on how to introduce yourself to a dead fetus, lol[Edited on January 5, 2012 at 5:00 PM. 1/5/2012 4:44:04 PM
Rick Santorum may be a nice guy, but the fact that he is running on social issues with the economy that we have says something. It also gives you an idea of how Iowans vote: they are values voters. So, if we take that out of the equation and negate his votes in Iowa, Ron Paul comes in second to Mitt Romney.I don't agree with anyone who says that birth control should be outlawed.
1/5/2012 5:03:00 PM
the guy honestly believes that if we "fix the family" that the economy will be fixed.
1/5/2012 5:11:18 PM
What's so extreme about it. Seems like a pretty wholesome way to say goodbye to a loved one, rather than promptly tossing the remains in a furnace.
1/5/2012 6:40:46 PM
because those are obviously the only two options when has it ever been ok to take a dead body home from the hospital?
1/5/2012 6:42:16 PM
Why isn't it ok?
1/5/2012 6:46:44 PM
I wouldn't even say it's unacceptable or "not okay", it's just fucking weird. It's your baby, do what you want as long as it's not a threat to public health, but it's still going to change my opinion of you.
1/5/2012 6:53:27 PM
So say grandma dies at the hospital, I can throw her in my car and take her around town for the rest of the day. Make sure everyone has a chance to say goodbye?
1/5/2012 6:56:47 PM
look, you wanna cart her around town, I'll look at you oddly. i mean, what do you think a hearse is doing, even if it's not for everyone else to gawk at gramms. but, when you cuddle up next to her in bed for the night? yeah... not that you are disagreeing with me
1/5/2012 7:17:09 PM

Does it matter who won? I mean by that small of a margin, they both receive the amount of delegates. No one will care about Iowa after New Hampshire.
1/6/2012 12:15:39 AM
Not really, the state convention assigns the delegates anyway. IIRC Ron Paul could end up with the most just by virtue of his supporters being devoted enough to actually know the rules for Iowa's delegate process. It's just amusing, after they make a huge fuss in the media about "winning" Iowa and potentially they've declared the wrong winner.
1/6/2012 12:34:11 AM
When does a dead 20 week old fetus start to decay? That's gotta be a health riskThis guy is just a walking, bad dead baby joke---Huntsman might be making a surge. He got endorsed by the Boston Globe or something. He any good?
1/6/2012 9:20:15 AM
^^I thought that the media had guesstimated that based on the distribution of caucus support, Paul and Gingrich would end up with no Iowa delegates, Romney would get 13, and Santorum would get 12.With that said, here's a lovely chart by the Secular Coalition of America: http://secular.org/content/2012-presidental-candidate-scorecardFull report: http://secular.org/files/2012scapresidentialcandidatescorecard.pdf

^^ Huntsman is the only Republican candidate I (as a staunch Dem) wouldn't mind in the presidency. He wouldn't be my ideal president, but neither is Obama and he's easily better than anyone else in the race. The key thing about him is that he's consistently conservative. I can begrudgingly take conservative fiscal policy as long as the "get the government out of our bedrooms" brand of social conservatism is being used.I really hope that he does decently enough in the primaries to make a name for himself for 2016. Assuming the Dems manage to put up someone sane it would be the best election since I started voting.[Edited on January 6, 2012 at 10:02 AM. Reason : .]

1/6/2012 2:04:55 PM
