When do we get to retire this thread? It just doesn't feel right to even contemplate giving a shit about what these fucks think.

no way, shit's too funny.and fwiw, i'd also support a PP thread, b/c we've got some fans that are just as stupid as their's. They've just got a lot more of them (and there's the whole "scandal" thing going on too.)

it's that NC State journalism bias. that's why. deal with it.

someone needs to remind them that we went through that shit 20 years ago, based on bullshit rumours. And they didn't find jack shit
8/21/2011 5:25:52 PM
There is a great thread over there about each poster's football career. It is the most pathetic thing I've read in a long time.

Tyler probably never flopped a single time, in the sense of faking the contact and pretending it was a charge. But he sometimes anticipated the contact and began falling before he got hit or without getting hit much.

Well I mean their spring game had like 542 people and they said 15,000....So I'll say they really have 40,000 there and end up with like 400,000.

^^, ^^^, thats pretty hilarious. Dean Smith would have NEVER stood by anyone that brought any shame whatsoever to the academic reputation of UNC. The Mcadoo copy and paste incident would have chapped Dean into another galaxy. Now Marvin taking trips to South Beach, yea Dean wouldn't have cared about that. Same with the parking tickets, and selling jerseys. King Rice went Mike Tyson on his girlfriend in Carrboro and Dean picked him up personally and made sure to let the authorities know this would never see the light of day. No Problem. But to expose the university that admits students who cheat at every iopportunity with the aid of tutors, professors, department heads and the honor court, no, Dean wouldn't have stood for that for one second. And let's not forget the fact that it was the football team. That increases the odds that Dean would have been more strict should he have been AD, which he virtually was at UNC his last 20 years.

IC defending McAdoo still:
9/7/2011 9:11:25 PM
I didn't cheat. My tutor was cheating for me. How was I supposed to stop her?
9/7/2011 9:19:09 PM
is it cheating if you don't know you're cheating? if you think you're you're telling the truth, even if you're not, you're not lying (by definition)
9/7/2011 9:23:43 PM
9/7/2011 9:29:21 PM
haha, yeah, it was cheating under any scenario. plagiarism on school papers happens on a consistent basis around the country, especially in the internet-era, but it's funny to see somebody defend such a blatant case of cheating.the mcadoo case is an interesting one. who would have thought this scandal would have had so many prongs would have sprouted when stories starting breaking a little over a year ago?i don't keep up enough to know it all, but there's a few hundred parking tix on multiple cars with multiple license plates, the resignation of an agent teaching swahili classes for athletes, a cop resigning for covering-up a car wreck, the head coach being fired, students breaking and entering to steal documents, i could go on.... it'd be neat if somebody developed a comprehensive timeline of all the events.i still think the punishment will be light, but it's been a very entertaining sports story.
9/7/2011 9:46:32 PM
^it's provided for some great entertainment over the last year or more.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_North_Carolina_Tar_Heels_football_teamNot from IC, but wikipedia lists the attendance for the Rutgers game as 53k. From tv it looked to be more like 40k...or less. IIRC, they usually just count tickets sold, not actual attendance...pathetic.
