that never happens because individually an interception is way more important than having the offense start closer.
9/30/2009 1:31:56 PM
false
9/30/2009 1:33:25 PM
You've never seen a defensive player in your life bat down a ball instead of trying to make a pick, no matter the circumstances, with the only exception being end of half and end of game Hail Mary's
9/30/2009 1:36:41 PM
Well, the most reliable way to make sure that a ball doesn't make it into the wide receiver's hands is to catch it yourself. If you simply try to bat it down there's a risk (however small) of a receiver being able to get to the ball before it hits the ground (perhaps you accidentally tip the ball upward sending it floating). So I don't think it's just individual achievement causing this, there's also a sense of the most reliable way to end the play.
9/30/2009 1:43:41 PM
lol @ ppl arguing over whether you should bat it down or catch it

wtf are those number and wtf is Ojala
9/30/2009 1:58:21 PM
That's where Czajkowski kicked the ball off to so far this season, and Ojala is the 2nd kicker. He got a few in against Murray State.
9/30/2009 1:59:49 PM
yeh let's hope he can bring that back down on sat.
9/30/2009 2:00:16 PM
are those yards for each punt? wow[Edited on September 30, 2009 at 2:01 PM. Reason : theres no way we had that many ko vs the scrubs]
9/30/2009 2:00:18 PM
these are kick offs. none of those graphed are from Ojala
9/30/2009 2:01:31 PM
do one for return distance and missed tackles. [Edited on September 30, 2009 at 2:06 PM. Reason : ]

The number is the yardline the ball was kicked to.
9/30/2009 2:04:41 PM
^5The weather forecast is 74/sunny. That should help.
9/30/2009 2:06:25 PM
OMG how many times does it need to be said that they were trying to pooch kick AWAY from the guy that got the ball in the first quarter and returned it so far up field?TOB said this numerous times and even said that they considered kicking it out of bounds every kickoff but that pooch kicking gave us time to get downfield and tackle their 2nd return man.THEY PURPOSELY KICKED IT SHORTand if you cannot realize that, you are dumb and need to stop watching football and posting in Sports talk.
9/30/2009 2:10:38 PM
^stfu. we all know this you dumbass son of a bitch. the point is we are trying to say he has only put 4 kicks inside the 5 all year. but i'm sure you already knew that. you fucking asshat.and here are the punt stats per game by ruizdude is capable of putting up some decent numbers actually[Edited on September 30, 2009 at 2:13 PM. 9/30/2009 2:10:39 PM
^^ yeah, after a certain point but not to begin with. The stats don't really look awful but our special teams coverage letting their returner bounce off like pinball makes it look a lot worse. Need a starting field position chart for the other team.^ if the blockers in front of him keep people off of him and he doesn't try to roll right into a defender with that rugby shit. you can't really use the Pitt numbers up there in any statistical studythey were kicking short on purpose to keep it away from whatshisname, who ran them back like woah in the first quarter/halfnvm, didnt see JT3Bucky's postor any thereafter apparently[Edited on September 30, 2009 at 3:05 PM. if you can't high kick it past the 25 or 30 then you might as well kick it out of bounds.
9/30/2009 3:13:20 PM
They were trying to force a fair catch -- they didn't want to kick it any further than the 25. I still think it's a good idea if Cz can get a little more height on the ball.
9/30/2009 3:23:24 PM
if
9/30/2009 3:24:51 PM
Could be worse I guess. My Bama special teams on NCAA 10 sucks balls. My kicker gets it to the 10 or 15 and then allows a kickoff return for TD per game.

I think Tom O Mother!@#$^ing Brien knows what the hell he is doing.
9/30/2009 10:13:32 PM
but He is versatile
9/30/2009 10:15:20 PM
He should just fly the ball over to them. He does have wings. (No Redbull)

he is winning
10/2/2009 9:32:28 AM
^^They spelled Toney's name wrong. sunzabitches.
10/2/2009 9:51:23 AM
lol @ UNC's play only having 7 votes
10/2/2009 9:54:42 AM
I'd call the 4th-and-14 run a better play from that game, but whatever, the more votes for our guys the better.
10/2/2009 10:35:08 AM
^ Yea definitely, though Toney Baker made a pretty athletic move to keep himself from being down on like the 2 and got the TD
10/2/2009 10:50:30 AM
Pittsburgh is number 8 in the AP poll, 9 in the Harris, 9 in the Coaches', and number 12 in the BCS.How the hell did we beat them?
11/9/2009 8:42:59 PM
maybe because rankings are for restaurants?
11/9/2009 8:47:00 PM
1) Russel Wilson had an awesome firstsecond half2) Our defense was decent b/c nobody had figured out how to beat it senseless yet. Once Wake Forest exposed us Mike Archer didn't adjust for shit and has gotten us ass raped ever since.[Edited on November 9, 2009 at 9:03 PM. Reason : musta been the champagne]
11/9/2009 8:50:36 PM
We do have a pretty good offense, i think we could hang points on just about anyone in the country. FTW!
11/9/2009 9:56:07 PM
also, Pitt plays in the Big LEast. It's like Boise State, if you're a decent team you can appear to be great
11/9/2009 11:51:32 PM
Thank you for bumping this thread. It almost feels like we're a winning team when I read things like this.
11/10/2009 12:02:44 AM
ahhh... if only Pitt weren't about to get owned in the coming weeks
11/10/2009 12:32:41 AM
^^^Normally I would agree but come on this year's Big East>ACC.
11/10/2009 1:29:43 AM
I think Cincinatti would lay waste to any ACC team, but the rest of the big east would not be > our top teams (VT, Miami, GT. )
11/10/2009 8:33:04 AM
he may still get voted in, they'll just have an alternate lined up to play
11/10/2009 8:33:58 AM
Clemson and Pitt seem like similar teams to me.Why does my brain seem to be making this connection and thus concluding we even have a shot at winning this game.I hate myself for setting me up like this for mega fail on saturday. I need to make sure the food stays warm somehow so that during halftime i can just leave and eat again. ha. It's gonna get nasty!!!11[Edited on November 10, 2009 at 11:24 AM. Reason : g]
11/10/2009 11:22:57 AM
CJ Spiller >>>>>>> Pitt's backsThe level of vulnerability of our secondary has been exposed since the Pitt game.
11/10/2009 11:36:36 AM
CJ Spiller is definitely better, but the Dion Lewis from Pitt is certainly no slouch. He's going to be a great one by the time he leaves.I think the biggest differences are that Pitt has a better QB and Clemson has more speed on defense.
