i've been a bit "meh" about the last few weeks, but tonight was great

"i can both see and hear you"

chang has a nice background moment in the "not a courtroom" scene where he was just standing there slouched and slack-jawed. maybe i enjoyed it b/c he was silent?

"and with just a few keystroke, the picture has western lighting!"

definitely enjoyed the episode...much better than the last couple of weeks. i lol'd at professor kane using a tape dispenser as a gavel.

it did bug me that they kept calling it a yam...it's a sweet potato. lol.

The phone call at the end was from Law and Order Season 6, episode 134, "Aftershock". The eye candy assistant that the District Attorney is sleeping with dies in a car crash. While initially opposed to the idea of adding hot women to the show just for cheap ratings, Dick Wolf has since said that his biggest regret was killing off the character Claire Kincaid. Jill Hennessey, the actress, thought she would be returning the next season in a wheelchair, and only found out she was fired/dead when she saw the episode on TV.

It is assumed that, from that point onward, the character of Jack McCoy no longer "works late into the night" with the long parade of unrealistically hot lawyers that are brought in to file his papers and call him a cruel, unfeeling chauvinist monster each season.

Law and Order basically parodies itself. With the exception of Aftershock, they made the same episode each week for 20 years.

Including all the franchise shows, there are 977 episodes of Law & Order. How have you never seen one? (Not being critical, just strange to me.)

i thought the same thing when he and I were talking about the episode on fb...especially with some of the day long marathons they'll show. not even a few minutes worth of an episode? ever? even if you're not a fan or legal drama shows he surely would've stumbled past one that might have grabbed his attention for a few minutes while channel surfing. *shrug* apparently not.

I don't really channel surf though, I either watch dvr, espn, comedy central, adult swim or netflix. I never sit there and scroll through channels and cop/lawyer/doctor shows really dont appeal to me (outside of eagleheart and childrens hospital). I tried watching awake and grimm but the whole cop show aspect did nothing for me and I didnt make it very far. I've never seen an episode of csi as well or nypd blue or ER, I was forced to watch an episode of greys anatomy once and hated it. thats about it

just realized there is one RARE instance of channel surfing, if scrubs in on comedy central (I hate scrubs so much) and espn is boring and I dont feel like sitting through a movie every once in awhile I'll surf from channel 1250 to 1270 and find something in the history/military/science/national geographic area to watch.

^^^I haven't seen one either. Pretty easy to avoid: cop, lawyer, doctor drama starting on TV? Changes channel as a reflex.

^The same, but I've never been forced to watch Grey's Anatomy. All those shows have been the same for decades and they are all boring/terrible. Of course they could be good, I wouldn't know.

Part of me wants to say those nipples are shopped, because if it's real I'm ashamed of myself for never seeing it before. Holy hell.

L&O has been a series for 20 yrs though...long before dvr. I mean you were what 13 when the first episode aired. It's like if I told you i'd never seen the Simpsons...you would prolly be as equally curious and surprised that I hadn't seen at least one or a few minutes of one. That's all. Like vb, not critical, just surprised.

I don't think that pic is shopped as much as it just had its brightness adjusted.

Also, I don't believe anyone who says they haven't seen any bit of L&O ever. It's basically impossible.

^ it's like saying "i've never seen the sun" and i think there are more hours of law and order on TV in a day then actual hours of sun light in a day.

oh no, I gotcha. I would be curious if you had said that about the simpsons, just explaining how it would happen. Also, I rarely watched TV until I got dvr. At the avent ferry house we only watched tv on sunday nights, we called it the "TV night". Now I feel like I watch too much TV :-/. Anyways its permeated culture enough to where I know the theme song and I know the "bum bum" noises the show always makes. And I'm pretty sure that skinny faced old man in glasses is from that show, but I've just never seen it outside of references/parodies in other shows or commercials

NBC is moving it to Fridays at 8:30 after Whitney, and Dan Harmon may not be back as showrunner.

Anybody look at the schedule for Thursday yet?

8:00-8:30: Community - Digital Estate Planning <New>
8:30-9:00: 30 Rock - What Will Happen to the Gang Next Year <New> <Season Finale>
9:00-9:30: Community - The First Chang Dynasty <New>
9:30-10:00 Community - Introduction to Finality <New> <Season Finale>

WTF? I don't mind that they are burning them all of one night, that is fine with me. But why the hell would you break up a 3 episode block of Community with 30 Rock slam in the middle?? Either run 30 Rock at 8 or 9:30. Shit its not like I am going to watch it live, so why should I care.

NBC has absolutely no clue how to set up a schedule. They never have.
