Players that should make Heather's top eight:RB Jonathon Dwyer, GTRB CJ Spiller, CUQB Russell Wilson, NCSUS: Morgan Burnett, GTLB Alex Wujack (sp?), UMDRB Darrin Evans, VTDT: Marvin Austin, UNC (mostly off hype)...can't think of anyone else ... maybe Cooper from Miami?
6/23/2009 10:26:51 AM
Truthfully I think the top 3 should be 1) Dwyer (he is the reigning ACC POY so he deserves to be here based on that. hopefully RW can knock him out though)2) Wilson3) Spiller

Rutgers at 16? http://www.philsteele.com/

6/23/2009 10:57:39 AM
^^ wow, ND at #7 ???I have noticed a LOT of people placing them really high for this year, seen them on a lot of "biggest surprises", "most improved" lists etc.I just dont see it unless they have a really light schedule (havent had a chance to look it over) and the o-line has improved a TON

i think spurrier will retire in 2 years after he joins the other masses of coaches who had good careers before entering the gamecock coaching graveyard

Optimism seems to be rampant for Swinney in his 1st year. Not saying he'll flop, but with a 1st year head coach (with no previous HC experience) and a 1st-yr starter at QB? Not exactly a recipe for success.
6/23/2009 1:37:56 PM
^agreed, maybe he'll be the next Mark Richt but it's more likely that he'll be the next Carl Torbush
6/23/2009 1:43:42 PM
Sporting News ranked our Quarterback unit as #5 in the country:
6/23/2009 2:30:41 PM
That's some impressive company. Three heisman finalists (two winners), the SEC chic pick, and us. Nice.
6/23/2009 3:40:21 PM
damnit... all this is doing is getting my hopes up for the season...
6/23/2009 11:27:01 PM
I hope Clemson falls off the map with Swinney as their HC. I don't have anything against him personally, but they are a divisional rival and recruit the same region as us. I'm tired of them stealing some of our state's best players (except in cases where the prospect chose them over the Holes). Them going down only helps us out.
6/23/2009 11:32:37 PM
agreedalso, clemson fans have a retarded sense of entitlement
6/23/2009 11:45:43 PM
Maybe TOB can elevate the program enough that we see this sight someday soon.

^^ That is my favorite photo of our stadium.. i think it's about 4 years old, but it's still the best. Any chance that a larger version can be made available?

6/24/2009 9:13:12 AM
weak sauce. I googled 'dinich top 30 acc players'. I have not seen it in a while. And the link I posted was the first result. I should have paid attention to the date.
6/24/2009 9:14:00 AM
^haha safety in numbers, i posted the same link a couple posts up.it's been an awful slow morning for me
6/24/2009 9:28:46 AM
Me too. I just made up my own useless statistic based on the players on the list. Shows or prooves nothing other than I am bored. Basically I took the average ranking of the players on each team on the list (ex: (19+9)/2=14) Then subtracted that average from 30. Then multiplied that number by the total number of players to get my final made up 'strength'. Here are the results:GT - 43FSU - 42UNC - 34D - 32NCSU - 32C - 29VT - 28UM - 19BC - 7WF - 7UVA - 7UMD - 1If Wilson is #1 it is going to send our completely useless stat through the roof.
6/24/2009 9:37:09 AM
i'm going to throw this out there....you were in engineering.i dont even have to look at your profile, because i think we are probably the only kind that would go out of our way to create work. and it gives us satisfaction. (especially when coupled with sports)
6/24/2009 9:39:40 AM
hahaha, if we could post attachments i'd love to have a PreseasonRankProjections.xls up in this thread.
6/24/2009 9:43:56 AM
Rutgers sure as hell would not be #16.
6/24/2009 9:46:35 AM
and as Jaybee1200 mentioned, there's no way you put ND at #7. What have they shown anyone that deserves them to be top 10?[Edited on June 24, 2009 at 12:11 PM. Reason : f]
6/24/2009 12:10:38 PM
notre dame hasn't done anything to show they deserve to be ranked anywhere.and my attempt to take pictures of the field was unsuccessful
6/24/2009 12:16:08 PM
It's Notre Dame people. The name alone boosts them a good 30 spots in the ranking. Also, the BCS sucks. That is all.

Good call ... didn't see that originally. I'm hoping to see a few things this season aside from the new playing surface:-Fully-painted endzones -- none of this grass-with-white-letters mess.-Shubbery back along the sidelines. Don't know why this was removed a few seasons ago. Thought it looked good.-live wolves
