Here is my latest Fallout 2 build, it is working quite well actually. I just wanted to try something weird, and its kinda weird. The only down side is not have a lot of luck is that your random encounters usually are you put right in the middle of 10 giant Radscorpions LOL. But with the high sequence its not that big of a deal. I choice some perks like Scout and Outdoorsman to make up for it.[Edited on January 19, 2009 at 3:41 PM. Reason : /]

This coming week - The new Fallout 3 DLC!!!!/caption obvious
1/23/2009 8:41:03 PM
^^ i pulled out my a3-21 plasma rifle and shot that guy up, as well as the rest of rivet city (and then tenpenny tower, megaton, underworld, and then put the FEV virus in the purifier)
1/23/2009 10:45:21 PM
Shooting up people is boring and easy. Test your will to be good and help others. You'll get more out of the game.
1/23/2009 10:47:39 PM
I thought playing as neutral was the most fun/challenging. Of course, sometimes when you do something really good you have to go steal a bunch of shit or kill someone. It's funny how much you can get away with and still be neutral.
1/24/2009 8:00:54 AM
^^ did that the first play-through of the game, was trying something different the 2nd time around.
1/24/2009 2:43:56 PM
Any of you guys playing as a goody-goody get a 10,000cap bounty placed on your head? I was approached by 3 Talon Merc's right outside Vault 112 who told me they had to kill me and when I killed them I found the bounty note on one of their bodies
1/24/2009 3:28:06 PM
^ yeah, get used to that. it won't be the last time you run into bounty hunters
1/24/2009 4:52:45 PM
^^If you play good you get a talon mercs trying to claim a bounty on your head... they're a random spawn in certain locations, as are the Enclave after you "meet" them. If you're evil, you still get the Enclave, but instead of talon mercs trying to claim the bounty, you get Regulators (cowboys)... who are in some cases even more well-armed than the Talons, especially early game.
1/24/2009 8:50:20 PM
They are better armed than the talons, but their armor sucks.Talons are wearing combat armor, Regulators just get dusters with like 3 armor points.

Finally beat this last night for the first time, ~60 hours.I thought it was a fantastic game. By the end, I was a little tired of super mutant after super mutant, and also a little tired of the same tunnels over and over, but overall, it was fantastic.I was a little disappointed at the ending, and even though I was a huge fan, I doubt I will be going for the DLC. I need a break from Fallout, and will probably dive into some L4D for a nice change of pace.9/10 in my book.
1/26/2009 8:03:15 AM
Anybody got the new content yet?
1/27/2009 10:51:03 AM
dude, i just found 3 dog or whatever his name is at the radio station. I doubt i'll be done with this game in next 2 years or so.And whats funny is not that its too hard, its just too easy.....and too big for that matter. I can spend a whole session doing things not even quest related and then just hit f9 and do it all over again. I'm not really a priority gamer.
1/27/2009 11:03:27 AM
But did you get the DLC? I finish the game in two weeks doing about 80% of the game, and yea I put in about 5 hours a day on it.

Something tells me the DLC is exclusive to Xbox Live, and something also tell me that the PC version of F3 is a Games for Windows branded games, which means he has access to the DLC.http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/Live/Pages/f3operationanchorage.aspxI have both 360 and PC versions [Edited on January 27, 2009 at 1:54 PM. I downloaded the DLC this afternoon. Bout to try that shit out.[Edited on January 27, 2009 at 9:19 PM. Reason : pip]

Not worth $10. I paid $60 for about 80+ hours of game (and didn't even do 100% of the game), then only get 3 hours for $10. Its rather good and interesting, and a bit too linear. Its worth 400 points maybe, but relative to what you got for $60, this is a tease. Not saying don't get it, but don't think its going to be great, lengthy, and vastly different. However the you do get a bad ass gun and some bad ass armor out of the deal.[Edited on January 27, 2009 at 9:34 PM. Reason : /]
1/27/2009 9:21:13 PM
I will not be getting it, but what bothers me is you need to be sure to always have a save right before the simulation, because it is a one time deal. You are unable to go back through the simulation once you complete it.
1/28/2009 8:28:33 AM
What other quest can you redo without reverting to an earlier save?
1/28/2009 8:48:13 AM
worth the $10 for me because i love this game and these quests are a refreshing change in sceneryi've only done the first 2 quests in the dlc but i've enjoyed it so farsneaking up the cliffs all stealthy like was a lot of funeven though it makes no difference if you go undected or run through blowing shit upthose dragoons are pretty badass

I just remembered that I still have Fallout 3 installed. Was thinking about continuing where I left off but whats the point. If a game doesn't even kill you or pose any challenge whatsoever then isn't it a just movie you have to manually crank. Wow what a let down this turned out to be.[Edited on March 1, 2009 at 4:38 PM. it was fun, but i didnt play it much. id be tempted to play on a harder difficulty, but i already played a sniper and i have a feeling thats the easiest way to do well on hard.

just so i'm clear, the hip thing is to hate on this game now?
3/1/2009 9:16:21 PM
its the fallout of Fallout 3sorry I had to
3/1/2009 9:22:44 PM
i was kinda waiting for an "epic point of the game". the part towards the end with the big robot was really cool, but i was still very disappointed by the game as a whole.

After going back playing the OG versions, I can say I can see why its a let down to a lot of people, but I really don't think its fair to compare them since the form factor of each game is much different. The only thing that one could say that a real letdown in comparison to the first two games is the ending. The ending of Fallout 3 is utter shit compared the first two games.
3/4/2009 4:40:11 PM
there was no ending, just an end
3/4/2009 4:47:09 PM
I was up in DC on Monday and Tuesday, riding the metro's red line (Dupont Circle and Farragut), and now I want to play Fallout again.
3/4/2009 8:02:27 PM
^ run into any feral ghouls?man, i hate the fact that us ps3 owners got screwed over the DLC so maybe the ending sucks, but the rest of the game was fun as hell to play and i'd love to be able to go back afterwards

I just stopped playing this game sometime in the middle of the fallIts not a game you can just hop back intoIt'll probably be something I'll get re-acclimated with sometime this summer when I start to tire of The Show and NCAA has yet to come out
3/24/2009 9:59:51 AM
I have the PC version for sale for $15.

It is not posted on http://xbox.com yet for an add-on to F3. Dang, I wanted to go ahead and add it to my download queue so when I get home all I have to do is power-up the 360 and chill and wait.

started playing the Anchorage quest. It's kinda fun being able not to worry about ammo or health and just shooting away. Is the PIT quest a stand alone or does it just add a quest like Anchorage?
3/24/2009 3:13:40 PM
I started playing this last week as I wanted to try out the DLC. I'm also using a lot of mod files, and wondered what mods others are using...here's my mod list:Accurate Assault Rifles 1.2Ultimate Perk Packs - Pack 1 - Pack 2 - Quest Perks - Beverage Perks - Experience Perks - Original PerksMaxLevel100Mart's Mutant Mod - Tougher TradersModBetterBigGunsNightvisionGoggles(powered)Owned!PowerArmorTrainingPowerArmorTraining_LindenPowerArmorTraining)MedicArmorradio_fixRepair RethoughtBy far the best mod in the list is Repair Rethought. It gets rid of the stupid "you can only repair with the exact same thing" and instead lets you use, for example, tin cans to repair some metal weapons and baseball bats to repair wood weapons
3/24/2009 3:32:52 PM
I got into mods for oblivion but they were more performance and visual mods. I'm not a big fan of modifying the gaming experience to advance quicker. My neighbor uses the mod that makes you go really fast. I think that takes away from the game.
3/24/2009 4:28:43 PM
none of those mods have anything to do with advancing the speed of the game (unless you take some of the new perks that give you an XP bonus in certain situations)[Edited on March 24, 2009 at 5:07 PM. Reason : .]
3/24/2009 5:06:19 PM
True, but doesn't repairing your gun with anything kind of make it easier to play?
