yeah...why waste an entire episode on 2 characters who have hardly been on the show? Definitely a "filler" episode.
3/28/2007 10:09:31 PM
did hear the "monster" noise right before all the spiders came out, so i was hopin they'd tie that in to make it a better ending...but they didnt.
3/28/2007 10:12:14 PM
packbacker: I think I saw everything you described in your last post. I was just wondering if they explained who the heck these people were and why they were looking for diamonds in the first place.
3/28/2007 10:18:34 PM
they stole them from a TV producer who they had poisoned the girl was fucking him and the guy got hired as the cook and poisoned his food
3/28/2007 10:21:38 PM
Oy. >_<
3/28/2007 10:23:20 PM
did anyone catch who the other people ben and julia were talking about in the hatch were?
3/28/2007 10:29:58 PM
^sawyer, kate, and jackand, dammit, i wish paulo and niki were actually deadi dont like their characters
3/28/2007 10:32:07 PM
well, after being buried alive, i think there is a good chance they are really dead
3/28/2007 10:48:07 PM
I kinda liked tonight's episode. Yeah, it may have been filler, but If you're a true Lost aficionado, it was the kind of filler you live for. Then again if you're all "Let's hurry up and get some answers" I can see where you would hate it. I guess tonight's episode really just put a wedge in between the crack between the two segments of viewers and split them further apart.
3/28/2007 10:54:24 PM
Does anyone know if they originally shot all of these scenes with paulo and nikki from season 1 and season 2 during the actual filming of those seasons, or did they go back and re-shoot everything to fit these two people in? It seems like a lot of work either way for a storyline that doesn't really have anything to do with the island or affect the other characters. I'm assuming they filmed it back in season 1 and season 2 and just waited to tell the story until now. Pretty pointless episode/storyline.
3/28/2007 10:56:12 PM
Yeah, I was wondering about that too. The amount of shit that was in the plane crash scene alone would have been almost impossible to replicate, much less expensive as FUCK (even for a big budget show like Lost) But She looked too "into" the scene to be Blue Screen. If she was "CGIed" in they did a hell of a job.
3/28/2007 11:07:47 PM
I thought the episode was very good. Old school return to the plane crash. Links to all sections of the show: the underwater packages, the science teacher before and after death, the monster, The Pearl, Sun's kidnapping, Desmond's premonitions, etc. And the whole story with the diamonds and spiders and betrayal and buried alive was well-written and well-integraged into the story.
3/28/2007 11:14:05 PM
FYI: the guy that played Arzt plays a gay guy in that Norm McDonald show " A Minute with Stan Hooper"The DVD of the whole series was 4 dollars at FYE.Worst 4 dollars I ever spent.
3/28/2007 11:24:29 PM
I liked this episode.
3/29/2007 12:03:32 AM
I don't understand why people can't enjoy a standalone episode without getting answers. The X-files did it all the time, you had 4 or 5 episodes a season that were part of the big conspiracy story arc, but most episodes were monster of the week stories. Here most episodes give answers but whenever there is one like this people freak out (although Sun finally found out about what Charlie and Sawyer did, we saw Ben and Juliette plotting to capture Saywer, Kate and Jack, and horray they more than likely killed of Niki and Paulo). I was satisfied with the episode.
3/29/2007 8:15:56 AM
That was cool. Still waiting for the return of Zombie Ecko!

3/29/2007 12:28:13 PM
Well next week is a Kate episode... so it won't be a "back at the beach episode" although we might not have major revelations like in The Man From Tallahassee. Anyway, looks like the previews was a cat-fight between Kate and Juliette, it was very short.
3/29/2007 12:31:53 PM
i loved this episode...freakin' awesome...i knew there was something more to those 2 than met the eye...especially in the hatch when that dude used the bathroom, now we know what he was really up to. i love this show
3/29/2007 3:15:15 PM
yeah, I'm with the crowd that actually liked the episode too
3/29/2007 3:49:56 PM
i liked the episode too, it reminded me of a lot of things i had forgotten about/hadn't thought about in some time, and i liked seeing all the old dead characters too

^ a "new" episode is still a new episode. Don't act like a snob just because you chose not to watch them.
3/29/2007 9:23:46 PM
i did watch it genius
3/29/2007 9:28:24 PM
It was far from a recap. And I don't have to defend my liking of it.
3/29/2007 11:00:26 PM
So what real life trouble did Ecko get into where they killed him off and made me ?
3/29/2007 11:15:15 PM
i dont think anyone asked you tobut it was a recap show and a tool to kill off two characters who really had no point to being introduced in the first place.
3/29/2007 11:16:26 PM
3/29/2007 11:52:17 PM
i actually disagree with thati dont mind a somewhat stand alone episodei just dont wanta stand alone episode centered on characters who are considered completely disposable by even the writerswe need a standalone episode for science guyand for dead guy from season one whatshisnamemaybe a standalone episode for the polar bear?edit: for the x-files analogy, this would be equivalent ot the x-files introducing some 3rd agent in the 3rd or 4th season and having him stick his nose around randomly for a few episodes then have an ep devoted entirely to him where mulder, scully, deep throat and all the others are mere secondary characters and then the 3rd agent dies at the endworthless episode and lazy writing[Edited on March 30, 2007 at 12:21 AM. Reason : a]
3/30/2007 12:18:31 AM
^agree. they introduce two new characters to kill them off a few episodes later. and what bearing did they have on the whole story? absolutely none. and it wasn't even an interesting filler. it was watching a hot chick prance around in tank tops, let's not kid ourselves. but then again, this show hasn't really been interesting since the first seasonand

The spiders that attacked her were the black smoke monster.
3/30/2007 5:27:05 AM
I'm just amazed they've been on this island for months, running through the jungle in almost every episode, and she is the first one to be bit by the Medusa spider.
3/30/2007 7:23:56 AM
rwoody is the epitome of my post two pages back
3/30/2007 7:43:56 AM
have they done one of their stupid dharma websites yet this season?[Edited on March 30, 2007 at 7:52 AM. Reason : and yeah, develop was the missing word]
3/30/2007 7:51:49 AM
okay... you people seem a little confused about the spiders:The Medusa spider's bite causes paralysis and slows the heartbeat to a crawl that even a doctor wouldn't notice. They weren't "killed off" because of two things. One: the spider doesnt kill! Two: Locke said "things don't stay buried on this island."The spiders that bit 'stripper bitch' were the males that 'Middle school Science teacher' said would come flocking at even the scent of the female.
