Yeah, my buddy at work said he read on packpride (yeah I know that a weak connect) that Smith still was 200 pts shy on his SAT. However, he has 3 more tries to raise his score...Either way, this is good news . Welcome to the fam, Tracy...(even if you dont qualify this year, we will send you to M Academy unitl you do)[Edited on May 21, 2007 at 2:25 PM. Reason : two siXXer]

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=2678621SF Jordan Hamilton a 5* player for the 2009 class out of Los Angeles was reported by the Charlotte Observer to be making an unofficial visit to State while being in the area for the Bob Gibbons Tournament. I believe Rivals has also confirmed this. Preferably we'll get the best player(s) in the state every year (provided they fit in the system), and get some of the top players in the nation as well, which is what you'll need to get an NCAA Championship.
5/28/2007 10:59:13 PM
I bought a State hat at Hibbets sports while at Emerald Isle and talked to some dude who said that Johnny Thomas was his cousin...
5/28/2007 11:14:24 PM
^^how did the unofficial go? did we have a sign on the Beltline to welcome him?
5/28/2007 11:27:51 PM
There's a premium article on Rivals, but I'm not a premium subscriber.^^How'd that go?[Edited on May 28, 2007 at 11:42 PM. Reason : ]

Here's a blurb from Al Featherstone fromm DBR about C.J. Williams:
5/29/2007 10:30:51 AM
i feel obliged to post that pp is reporting that bartosz won't play anymore, and thus our basketball program will no longer have him on the scholarship count (reportedly he will remain on scholarship, however).i'm really starting to hate pp.
5/29/2007 10:38:19 AM
why? because it's where you get your facts? TWW always feels they're the end all be all of message boards. I've never heard anything but good information from the reliable posters on PP premium. Sure you get your misinformed and your jackasses..but tell me how that is ANY different from here. All you see on here is people talking trash about it, and then two minutes later posting info they got from there. hypocrisy lives!
5/29/2007 11:39:03 AM
PP is saying we are leading for 2010 stud C.J. Leslie, its a long way off, but by all accounts this guy is a player.
5/29/2007 12:05:51 PM
the only issues i have w/ PP is the fact that most of them are pricksbut the information is better than it is here:here is some copy / paste action about Jordan Hamilton
5/29/2007 12:24:18 PM
Nice...but
5/29/2007 12:28:32 PM
Us? Hypocrites?That's unpossible!

back to Jordan Hamilton, the bob gibbons tournament was last weekend any word on if he liked the campus, the program, Sid, anything?

Not yet. But we shouldn't measure our recruiting to Duke and UNC. Duke/UNC are at a higher level (recruiting ranking wise) than any program in the country and the ESPN hype will assure that it stays that way for the foreseeable future. The important part is what you DO with that talent you do get...It's still going to be tough to beat UNC head to head in a recruiting battle unless the kid just downright doesn't like UNC (in other words, grew up a State fan)[Edited on May 29, 2007 at 2:04 PM. 5/29/2007 2:03:13 PM
What's weird is that Syracuse guys blog talks about him really liking his visit here, and then in his little breakdown he has UNC listed and not us. You think he's screwed that up and really meant to put us, or do you think UNC is recruiting him too and he just hasn't updated and put us on his list yet?
5/29/2007 2:11:38 PM
UNC is recruiting him too...he's getting that list from Hamilton's scout.com profilewe arent on that list yet[Edited on May 29, 2007 at 2:17 PM. Reason : asdf]

^^Beerz, you're a moron. That was Al Featherstone. He's probably more knowledgable than anyone about ACC college bball save David Glenn around here. It's not like he bashed Williams, he just said he looked stiff, and rightly so (7 weeks off for injuries, etc.).[Edited on May 29, 2007 at 2:52 PM. 5/29/2007 3:37:35 PM
That's great that he has us as basically his favorite right now, and over Texas is a pretty good statement too.Hopefully we'll have a solid season and this kid will like the style of play we bring to the table.
5/29/2007 5:24:59 PM
We need this guy Terrelle Pryor. He's the #6 small forward in the country. The catch is he's also the #1 QB/overall player in the country. He could save the football and basketball programs at the same time........hopefully not like Ronald Curry did for UNC.http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=2325698http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=2071746
5/29/2007 6:19:38 PM
We have basically no shot at Pryor but I'd love to get him.
5/29/2007 6:52:46 PM
^^You need scholarships to get kids.
5/29/2007 7:28:19 PM
We will have scholarships if that Bartoz thing is the truth. Plus the likelihood that Costner or Hickson leave early.
5/29/2007 7:33:50 PM
^^If he chooses to play football...he could be on football scholly
5/29/2007 11:28:44 PM
^^^If for some reason we somehow get Pryor(not happening), Im sure there would be no problem with him being on a football scholly and not bball.
5/30/2007 8:29:10 AM
That Hamilton guy must be good, judging by who else wants him.
5/30/2007 9:03:43 AM
did ya'll see the article about cj williams in the winston newspaper?“All my friends at school, they get on me a little bit talking about how I can be a Carolina fan and go to N.C. State,” Williams said. “You can love a school anyway. I love Carolina, but N.C. State was just a better fit for me as a player and as a person. I feel strong and firm in my decision to go to N.C. State.”nullhttp://www.winston-salemjournal.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WSJ/MGArticle/WSJ_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1173351402119

^ That'll change once he gets to State and realizes that Carolina is just a bunch of fags and stuck up bitches.

hot damn, its amazing how fast we are moving on big time recruits.....thank god for SID!!!
5/30/2007 3:28:02 PM
I'm pretty sure CJ was there, along with the Leslie kid from Holly Springs that's one of our top '10 targets.
5/30/2007 5:23:36 PM
I'm pretty sure I remember seeing C.J. on the sideline seating when I was watching that game on TV. C.J. Williams throws up the Wolfpack gang sign a lot at games. I can't really get mad at a basketball playing kid from North Carolina that admits he liked Carolina growing up. I mean they are the darling school of the state, and have been one of the most dominant bball programs of all time. It would be like a hockey player drafted by the Calgary Flames, but had grown up around Edmonton. We'll quickly convert him to the light side of the force, we already have started.Glad to hear that Hamilton has us at the front and enjoyed the campus. Now lets find him on myspace/facebook and bombard him with reasons for why he should choose State over everyone else. Players can't verbal to a school until their junior season, correct?
5/30/2007 6:57:20 PM
Guys, NC State is never going to get big-time recruits after the way we ran off Herb Sendek.
5/31/2007 4:27:05 PM

^^yeah i mean i thought that too, but really he just rode the damn bench. i'm sure he's real proud of his part in that title.
6/1/2007 5:09:33 PM
And if he'd come here, maybe he would've rode the bench on a team that didn't even make the tourney.Who knows?
