yeah, if i get a chance to contribute more significantly i'll start back up again, but right now it's just eating my desktop time up, keep up the good work

Every little bit helps. Thanks.
10/4/2005 6:09:40 AM
Congrats!
10/5/2005 8:27:44 AM
i hate that i had to quit this way back when, my laptop just ran so hot.
10/6/2005 12:56:26 AM
That's understandable. I don't recommend it for laptops because of the heat issue, although putting the laptop on a baking rack did help. It's also possible to throttle back the CPU usage. The bottom line is that I stopped running it on my laptop as well.
10/6/2005 6:33:46 AM
After a brief slide, we moved back up 2 spots to 93rd place.Fold On!

Congrats man...
11/8/2005 8:29:20 AM
KRUZNBY!!!You'll be mine by the end of the week!! I'd say you're next Neoeraser, but you just got too many instances for me to catch up...But I'm working on it!!
11/8/2005 2:08:57 PM
Come on man, I need someone to carry the torch! Seriously though, I dunno how long I can keep up like this. I no longer work there anymore. Hehehe, lets see how long it takes them to find my little drones....
11/8/2005 6:08:49 PM
Active processors(within 50 days) 60Active processors(within 7 days) 52Doesn't look like they've caught on yet!!I'll max out at around 35 or so. Unless I can hijack a lab or something..
11/8/2005 7:08:57 PM
incidentally, hijacking labs on campus remotely is pretty easy...
11/8/2005 7:35:40 PM
Is anyone monitoring their clients remotely?Say since I have 20+ clients, I want to monitor the progress on each one? say, IP, unit name and progress? you get the idea..I was looking at coolmon2... Is an interesting thought and would like to possibly pursue this.any ideas would help.thanks!
11/8/2005 8:53:29 PM
I'll enjoy 3rd for 4 more days. I see you have been posting some good numbers lately Stonerman! As for remote monitoring, I've been out of that loop for awhile. I think EMIII can do it. I know there is also a 'server' feature that can upload info to a site you designate. If you find something that works well, let us know and I could add it to the website.I probably need to edit some of the website info. I don't think the GROMACS increase in points bit applies anymore. I hope we picked up a few people from the banner ad I purchased here. It proabably cheaper and more efficient to boost team production to buy advertising than to build another box to fold.Fold On! Remember everyone's contribution helps.
11/8/2005 9:23:02 PM
I don't know about the 4 more days... I'm adding 2.9ghz machines daily now... I'll likely add another 2-3 tomorrow. I bet I'll have your spot by the weekend.. I'm researching, but since I am not wanting to use too many cpu cycles overhead (other than f@h) I am not sure I will be doing some of the suggestions for the remote monitoring. Everywhere I've checked is suggesting running other services or having the remotes up the log somewhere via ftp. I don't know if I want this overhead since I am running covert ops on most of these..

can you double up on F@H on a machine w/ a dual-core CPU?
11/30/2005 9:53:54 AM
You can run two instances just like dual CPU setups.
11/30/2005 3:52:25 PM
I run two copies on my dual-processor machines at work
11/30/2005 6:05:38 PM
Just make sure you assign different machine IDs to each instance, otherwise you will only get credit for one.
12/1/2005 7:33:12 AM
what about cores that support multiple threads
12/1/2005 7:46:11 AM
By cores do you mean F@H cores or processor cores? AFAIK F@H is not multi-threaded.
