^^ or they could be tethering their data connection.
3/11/2015 6:15:18 PM
True but I usually just do a hotspot.
3/11/2015 6:24:43 PM
This is a stupid question, but does an iPhone/iTunes still work if it's not on a call/data plan ie WiFi only? My wife is shitcanning her plan, but if it can still work as a micro tablet, I'd get a insurance replacement before she does.
5/7/2015 8:18:36 PM
Yes everything still works including wifi. Basically a nice ipod touch.
5/7/2015 8:35:49 PM
I'm selling my iPhone and getting a Galaxy S6 if Apple doesn't fix my #($*&%# wifi before I manage to make it to store in the next couple of weeks.
5/14/2015 6:25:11 PM
Nobody is talking about this here today?http://gizmodo.com/a-simple-text-can-crash-messages-on-any-iphone-its-sent-1707128470

Just loaded iOS 9 to my iPhone 6. It's booting for the first time now... let's see how this goes.
9/16/2015 2:34:01 PM
I updated, weird they switched the swipe to kill apps function to the left side now instead of the right. Also, it puts contacts pics beside their message in texts.anyone know how to link facebook to contacts for pics?
9/16/2015 6:58:24 PM
So is skip while shuffling just not a thing anymore? The IOS 8 update with Apple Music killed the functionality, and even with the new update it doesn't seem like they are fixing it.Basically what used to happen is if you tagged a song as "skip while shuffling" in iTunes, when you put it on your phone it would also skip it when shuffling all your music. This was great if you had things such as a comedy CD loaded that you would never want to hear just a random track here and there.
9/21/2015 8:52:01 AM
The checkbox is still there under the Options tab in the get info window, for whatever that's worth.
9/21/2015 11:18:19 AM
Yep, it's still there but the music app on the phone doesn't recognize it. I believe it works in iTunes, but it no longer works on the phone.
9/21/2015 1:17:01 PM
I can't even find the artist tab on the music app in the phone.I hate the new music app.
9/21/2015 2:00:18 PM
Figure it out before my wedding! lol
9/21/2015 3:57:36 PM
Oh no worries, I don't use the iPhone when I DJ, that's like the backup to the backup to the backup.
9/22/2015 1:56:31 AM
And the backup to that is my Bose bluetooth speaker I am bringing to play music and the actual ceremony lol. I will have you a song list by this weekend at the latest by the way.
9/22/2015 9:14:36 AM
Ehh, I've got a backup speaker/PA system as well. You've hired a professional, don't worry lol.
9/23/2015 12:15:50 AM
I gave my mom one job and thats to pick a song for mother son dance and she gives me 4 songs so this is why I still havent gotten a list together I cant get anyone to settle on specific songs haha.
9/23/2015 8:20:13 AM
my mom picked "my wish" by rascal flatts for ours, if that helps any.
9/23/2015 9:36:44 AM
^ mine also. It was a good choice.Apparently most of the phones to be delivered friday were flown in on UPS flights this AM.. People over on the apple forums are about to lose it
9/23/2015 6:41:12 PM
there was a mention of stronger glass - has anyone seen a review / video of it holding up to better drop tests or anything like that?
9/24/2015 2:57:20 PM

9/25/2015 9:55:52 PM
Bob probably cancelled the order
9/25/2015 10:14:40 PM
So I've been able to bypass PIN using that Siri on lockscreen exploit and not only access contacts and photos but use voice commands to send messages to the phone's contacts, call them and facetime as well. 9.0, 9.01 and 9.1 public beta 2. Wtf Apple?
9/26/2015 12:58:33 AM
By photos you mean of the contacts I assume because I can't get it to show any photo otherwise.and what good does that do? Why would that be a scenario people should be weary of?
9/29/2015 4:06:00 AM
If you go to a contact and hit add photo then choose photo you get access to gallery. Idk of a scenario, but to assume my phone is secure if it's ever lost or stolen is a reasonable thing to ask. I guess I can't complain if I'm not using alphanumeric password for lockscreen anyway.
9/29/2015 10:17:31 AM
can't be true right? http://action.sumofus.org/a/iphone-headphone-jack/?sub=fbhttp://www.cnet.com/news/would-it-be-a-mistake-for-apple-to-remove-the-headphone-jack-on-the-iphone-7/
1/5/2016 3:48:59 PM
been rumored for awhile now. they want to run everything through the lightning port.
1/5/2016 3:53:55 PM
or bluetooth. They make more money that way.
1/5/2016 6:39:49 PM
I wouldn't be a fan as I prefer wired headphones and wired into my car stereo as it sounds better than Bluetooth. I don't see why they need to make the thing thinner than it is now seems like all that is likely to do is increase problems with bending or breaking
1/5/2016 7:27:43 PM
don't worry they'll sell a $40 adapter for old headphones
1/5/2016 8:05:27 PM
^+1
1/5/2016 9:28:57 PM
new Google keyboard (Gboard) is awesome
5/13/2016 11:53:10 AM
For phones, i prefer Microsoft's keyboard. They have the only competent 1-handed keyboard on the market... i'm surprised no one has targeted this use case more.
5/13/2016 2:39:58 PM
have you looked at what I'm talking about? It has automatic Google search built right into the keyboard, so you say like, "Let's go to El Rodeo" a button will pop up saying, "Search El Rodeo?", which, when clicked on, brings up directions, etc which you can then send as another text. So no need to go out to maps, etc any more
5/13/2016 2:51:44 PM
How is SwiftKey not a competent one handed keyboard?
5/13/2016 4:36:16 PM
+1 for gboard
5/13/2016 6:58:39 PM
^^ unless i missed it, they don't have a 1-hand mode. I'm referring to the feature MS has (and 1 other keyboard I know of-- can't think of the name right now but just deleted it) where the smush the keys to 1 side of the phone so you can reach them with your thumb. And swiftkey's swiping is a little "weird" to me, haven't really tried to figure out why. I never could take to swiftkey.
5/14/2016 11:45:51 AM
Maybe you have small hands. I've never had a problem using my thumb to cover the entire keyboard.
5/14/2016 11:48:27 AM
moron = donald trump exposed
5/16/2016 8:36:35 AM
5/16/2016 12:45:24 PM
the lighting port is the worst thing to happen to the iphone. It has awful cable retention at 1.5 years old and may be the main reason i stop drinking the apple koolaid.i have lightning cables with burnt pins all around my house and now they want to use it for headphones.
6/14/2016 7:54:29 AM
I thought they switched to usb-c?
6/14/2016 10:30:52 AM
I don't have an issue with the lightning cables and burnt pins. haven't had a single one fail (all mine are either apple or amazon branded. none of those shitty gas station ones)but fuck apple if they replace the headphone jack with a lightning connector. if they do, that may be the thing that makes me move away from apple.
6/14/2016 12:29:17 PM
Why not just go wireless? Sure people will bitch and moan for a while, but they'll get used to it.The got used to no floppy. They got used to no cdrom.
6/14/2016 11:26:36 PM
Wireless charging or headphones? I assume you mean charging. The only reason my HP Touchpad even stays powered on is because I have a Touchstone (wireless charging stand) since the USB connect inside the device ended up getting really finicky after years of plugging and unplugging. One of those situations where the USB cable would charge it, if it was propped up on something that made it push a certain direction, you know that bullshit you do until you give up on it. Only option was a touchstone because wireless charging didn't rely on the USB port, so it's smart and I think many manufacturers are going for it. I know one of the differences in the "A grade" androids and their same manufacturers "B grade" devices is often wireless charging, so it's getting more mainstream. But stuff like that seems like a pain in the ass for a car charger situation. And I don't ever foresee ANY electronic device coming without a single way to plug in a charging cable, unless batteries become ridiculously cheap. That's not something you just get used to. In addition to being reliable, it's a failsafe. And I'd imagine (maybe I'm wrong) that wired charging is a more efficient use of electricity.]
