I can't tell you how excited I am going to be trying to support jitter on an enterprise wireless network on an SSID that was not designed for VOIP... Apple doesn't even support OKC.

the whole #bendgate fiasco is gaining attention - i assume at this point apple has to at least respond in some way shape or form - whether it's showing us videos of the note 4 bending more easily next to the 6 plus or whatever else they decide

There's been plenty of 5.5" phones released over the last couple of years. None of them have bent and stayed bent.

^Note 3 bend test:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwM4ypi3at0&feature=youtu.be

Holds up pretty swell. Making a phone out of metal/aluminium never seemed like the best idea.

Black and Silver I Phone 5S ATT-400 or best offer. Not a scratch. Never even took the new charger, cord, headphones out of the case so of course that all comes with it. Will throw in additional crap I bought for it.

Also a VZW I Phone 4S WHITE cracked screen and all but works, 100 bucks unlocked. Will also give about 50 I phone 4S cords to go along with it that can't be used but by this generation now.

I listed mine on Craiglist and in minutes people were messaging willing to buy for 500-600 and do pay pal. Still seems sketchy to me they haven't even seen a picture, but everyone says pay pal is legit. Is it? I feel the way these people are talking and the numbers they are texting me from it has to be some type of scam on me?

Download the ipsw for your device manually from the links at the bottom of this page, and then hold down shift (or option on a Mac) when you hit the update button in iTunes to select the ipsw you downloaded.

PayPal is legit. That doesn't mean somebody can't send you a payment, get your phone, then dispute the payment and get their money back. Straight cash homey.

And Samsungs feel kind of cheap and flimsy compared to a Maxx. But there are always cases if you'd rather use the features of your phone than be a fashion snob.

Yyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhh...

Talking about it taking "extreme" circumstances to bend the new iPhone, when you can easily bend it using your bare hands or by simply sitting on it is a PR disaster. And then they want to show you the "testing lab"? What the fuck. Apple is not gonna be able to "gorilla grip" themselves out of this one, so they need to fucking own up to it and stop their denials that it's a problem and quit being so snobbish and demeaning. If I can bend your phone with my bare hands, then it doesn't matter how much "testing" you put it through, because clearly it was not sufficient.

^^ there's no evidence you can "easily bend it with your bare hands." The guy in the video is putting a decent amount of force to bend the phone (and theres really only 1 guy making these videos so far-- hardly representative of a widespread problem).

I think I can bend most portable electronics with my bare hands, and i'm not a strong person.

THere's a lot of people talking about the 1 or 2 videos/photos of bending iPhones, but there's not a lot of evidence it's a widespread problem.

So is the idea he/they are faking when "trying" to bend the non-iPhone6 plus devices?

Regardless I'd like to see videos of the phones being bent in people's pockets...that's a more accurate use case.

^ in the videos where he starts from a new phone, he barely is able to get them to bend.

There's one video where the phone starts of pre-bent, where he gets some more bending, but overall, the level of bending he's achieving is about what i'd expect if someone were intentionally trying to break their phone.

I will say they, the Moto-X is pretty impressively strong, and I personally would like to see more devices like the Nextels of yore that could be tossed out a window and not break, but after initially being sucked into the bending iPhones problem, only to watch a lot of videos and realize how much effort it takes to bend a new phone, and that its only this 1 guy making the videos, this seem like a fabricated issue to me.

It's like when the iPad Airs first came out, people started taking thermal images to prove the screen had uncomfortable hotspots... and then nothing ever came of this.

10 million phones+ sold, we should be seeing way more pics of actual users bending their phones in the real world-- and this simply doesn't exist at this point.

It's because there is an internal support that's attached to a weak soot on the phone, it bends at that weak spot. It's a design flaw specific to the phone

They've already sold 10 million iPhone 6 plus phones? That's the only model under fire...

Again, so you think he's not really trying to bend the other phones he tries and fails to bend?

At the end of the day I'd rather have a durable flexible plastic phone than one made out of a weak bendable metal like aluminium that bends and stays bent. I put a case on it anyway.

I'm saying he's trying, and succeeding, in bending phones, using a considerable amount of force.
He was able to bend most of the phones. The iPhone bent the most, but 1 phone had a cracked screen from the initial bend.

You're sure there are bend victims or phone-bending-videos? So far, there's more videos of people trying to bend phones and put them on youtube (and i've only seen videos made by 1 guy-- now 2), than any evidence that peoples' phones are bending in normal use.

Apple has 9 reports, the Internet has 1 person in the wild, there's no mass bending pandemic of iPhones that can be verified at this point. Will an iPhone bend? Sure, but so will most phones if you try to bend them.

Is there evidence of an iPhone bending problem at this point? Absolutely not, just the same videos being rehashed in different ways of people trying to bend phones.

And based on the videos of people bending the phones, you could avoid any possibility of bending by putting the phones face-in to your pocket, since the videos only bend the phones outwards.

This is a trumped up issue because people like to target Apple.

False.

FTFY. We're just talking about the Plus at this point.

Obviously not necessarily conclusive but a far better test than some guy bending phones with their hands.

Lol, you people...

The HTC is the bendiest of the phones. If you want a durable phone get the Samsung.

But based on the lack of actual reports of bent phones, Apple's statement they having heard reports, the apparent force required by the hacks bending phones by hands, and now consumer reports using a machine to simulate hand bending, it's starting to be pretty clear bend gate is mostly hype.

It's okay to admit you got sucked into the hype, but there's no actual evidence yet of a major bend issue with the iPhones.
