Gottfried would take him back. He is trying to use his tough talk to save face for losing him, but I am sure that he would take him back. People are too much on Gottfrieds D right now to see that.BTW, when can we have a coach with an-easy-to-spell name?

Okay I'm trying to figure out what our 2012 class needs are and how it might look based on current prospects.SeniorsSG WoodPF HowellC/PF PainterC VandenbergJuniorsPG/SG BrownSF/PF Leslie (highly likely that he goes to the NBA after next year)SophomoresSF/PF HarrisSG RaymondFreshmenPG LewisC Mikulic (I'm keeping him listed until otherwise noted)10 Scholarship players are listed, but again Leslie will probably leave after this year giving us 4 more scholarships to use.My dream 2012 class would look like this:PG Tyler LewisSG Rodney PurvisSG Torian Graham (would need him once Purvis went one-and-done)SF TJ WarrenC Josip Mikulicand a PF to be named later
5/6/2011 8:11:15 PM
wait, but CAN he come back?
5/6/2011 10:57:55 PM
Typical of Harrow if he does actually feel that way.Sometimes in life you have to live with your choices.
5/6/2011 11:29:39 PM
harrow is gonedeal with it
5/6/2011 11:32:06 PM
If his mom is running the show, I don't want him back anyway. I had enough of overbearing athlete parents with Jack Johnson, Sr.
5/6/2011 11:32:36 PM
It would show a lack of commitment ... but thats nothing new for college students ... Forgivable in my mind. Most sensible people would allow him to come back under most circumstances (and especially when needing a PG desperately). For real though ... is there a rule that you cannot choose to commit to the school you were released from?
5/7/2011 6:28:27 PM
according to what I've been reading here: http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/TGONLINE2010.pdf ,he can come back, but I think he would have to sit out a yearI dunno, I kinda scanned over the article, someone else can read more into it[Edited on May 7, 2011 at 7:07 PM. Reason : asdf]
5/7/2011 7:04:53 PM
Tyrek Coger committed to Mizzou, not really a surprise though.
5/7/2011 11:24:40 PM
Isn't Mikulic gone? I thought he decommited and was off our radar.
5/8/2011 4:47:29 AM
^I think I read on PP that it was the new staff's decision to release himAlthough the latest article about him says that there is still mutual interest (not sure how true that is anyway).I'm sure the staff feels like they have much better options for that class.[Edited on May 8, 2011 at 11:15 AM. Is he good enough to take the starting spot from Doron Lamb (I'm guessing no)? Kentucky is in consideration for like half the top 50 players every year. That doesn't mean they get them all though. I think he'll go somewhere he will have a better chance at playing time (not saying that's us).
5/8/2011 12:21:31 PM
Has Lacey even been to our campus? I would say our chances are nil.
5/8/2011 12:35:52 PM
Haith is stealing kids from NC again.Tyrek Coger, center from Raleigh (same HS as Purvis), committed to Mizzou today.http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/102168/tyrek-coger ]

i'll predict Lacey goes to UK or Auburn

a bold prediction indeed.

Last I read he was 6'8" and 250lbs, likely to be a 4 or 5 star player by his senior year...no reason to go sour grapes on him. Plenty of time left still in his recruitment.
5/9/2011 6:08:55 PM
ESPN has him 4 star, #4 center, #49 overall for 2013 i believebut i'm not really worried about this at all. its very early in the process.
5/9/2011 6:14:06 PM
didnt Frank Haith hire Louisville's super-recruiter (I cant remember the guys name right now) to be on his staff? Seems like its paying off already, I hope Purvis doesnt follow suit
5/9/2011 6:58:49 PM
the kid's a 2013. I'm not buying any kid making that kind of decision this early. Hardly ever sticks.

Pretty interesting tweets today from CJL about Purvis and TJ Warren. Alluding to them signing with us. Also I read an article today about Warren where Tyler Lewis said he is recruiting him hard. With all this local pressure by their friends on the team it can't hurt our chances. Plus Warrens dad played for us and he grew up a wolfpack fan.[Edited on May 9, 2011 at 9:26 PM. Reason : asd]

Was his dad any good? If he was a star and tj had big shoes to fill I could see him wanting to go elsewhere to get out of his dads shadow. But if his dad was just an average player it wouldn't matter as much, especially since he was raised an ncsu fan

Ned Sendek is a sophomore pg at Carnegie Mellon.

haha Ned? Herb's an asshole for naming his son Ned
5/9/2011 10:41:46 PM
i'm 100% positive that was a joke, because herb doesn't have a son.
