Boom! Hit a woosh and dropped 2lbs overnight to the lowest I've been in 2 years: 166lbs. About 4-5 more to go over the next 5 weeks

Anyone going to see Marky Mark's new movie? Will you be dressing appropriately for the theater to show off how fit you are?
4/24/2013 12:36:38 PM
I feel like Marky Mark has always had this chip on his shoulder about being taken seriously as an actor and not the meathead/Calvin Klein model/Funky Bunch guy...but it's kind of hard when you look like a ball of muscle.Obviously that was important for this role...but you would think he would slim it down a little in order to get looked at for more serious gigs.Just to get the argument restarted...I think his level of muscle in this movie would not be found attractive by an overwhelmingly majority of women.
4/24/2013 12:48:07 PM
He's not even that big. Cut down to 8-10% and he'd look even better.Yes, there are many, maybe even an "overwhelming majority" of women that wouldn't be into that physique. Who cares? There are plenty of smoking hot women that are.
4/24/2013 3:41:50 PM
I just want to take my finger and touch that vein on his back
4/24/2013 3:46:12 PM
Holy fuck that is big. Way tooo big.
4/24/2013 4:13:24 PM
Don't let Mark Wahlberg know, he'd be really upset that you don't approve of his physique.
4/24/2013 4:16:47 PM
Way too big for what? I'd agree it's probably too big to achieve with out AAS.
4/24/2013 4:18:12 PM
^ That I guess. Definitely juicing.Well...he's big enough for that movie role. But unless he's doing competitions, I see no point in being that big.Question...what does your body look like when you come down from that? It looks to me like he's about 40 or 50 pounds above his normal size. do you get loose skin after that? I mean...he's fucking jacked.

Out of all the pics in this thread, including Marky Mark, I most "appreciate" jbrick's pics. Especially since his diet/fitness routine sounds very balanced. We all have different goals though. Am enjoying reading all the different opinions ITT.

I feel the same way about women. The "fitness" girls at my gym only look good in workout clothes and "LuLus" but I think there is a certain grace in wearing a dress and in most cases, these girls don't look great in regular clothes.I'm not hatin'. I'm an ectomorph, it's hard with me, and the amount of work and dedication these girls put in, I do envy.
4/24/2013 4:58:23 PM
^ I'm sure they could look great in regular clothes... but don't know how to dress for their body type. That's the challenge. Gotta dress for your body and not just embrace every trend.Though, it is tricky to find a perfect pair of jeans when you have an athletic build. Also, this is hilarious: http://www.buzzfeed.com/daves4/why-going-to-the-gym-is-a-huge-waste-of-time[Edited on April 24, 2013 at 5:12 PM. I think we've established this before, but jbrick83 and I have pretty identical body types. Same height, same waist size, I'm a tad lighter but we both put muscle on the same way. Kinda weird
4/24/2013 5:20:06 PM
i'm not attracted to the super low body fat/veiny look but i definitely appreciate bigger muscles on guys. once their neck is as big as their head thats too much for me but i have yet to meet a guy who i thought was "too muscular". i have seen a few at the gym though.

Here's my progress pic. The April pic is probably almost two weeks old.
4/24/2013 9:17:51 PM
What, are you famous or something?
4/24/2013 10:16:31 PM
I don't know how tall whalberg is, but I do know he's my height (5'8) or shorter...and he was 60lbs heavier than I am for that movie
4/25/2013 12:47:34 AM
Yesterday I walk/jogged for 30minutes (2 minutes of jogging alternated with 1 minute of walking) on the green way near my gym... That's the first time I've ran for an extended distance in over a year Felt pretty good on my injured side, but I can tell I have a way to go until I can hit a <6minute mile.Woke up today, down another pound to 165 I've hit a great weight loss groove and will probably be able to ride this momentum for another easy 1-2lbs until I need to do another refeed. The refeed process is like taking a step backwards, so you can take 2 steps forward. Spiking your carbs seems to help with a bunch of pyschological and physiological mechanisms; making getting very lean more feasible.Next week, I'm going to trim the manbearfur and take some update photos that aren't glamour shots
4/25/2013 8:50:22 AM
^ Can you provide an example of a typical day of eating for you? I am trying to drop some weight to get more "cut" and I've kind of hit a wall at about 10 lbs loss (195 lbs). All through college I was between 190-210 and I'd like to get down to maybe 180. I've only been working out steadily now for maybe 6 weeks after not being able to for about a year. Sticking to a diet and not eating too many calories has proven difficult as I am hungry a LOT now.
4/25/2013 9:27:30 AM
My diet is hard to cartegorize, I do a hybrid of all the stuff I've learned through out the years...A combination of intermittent fasting, carb cycling, protein sparing modified fasts, and refeeding.Yesterday my intake was pretty low calorie and looked like:Caffeine + Yohiminbine then 30min run/walk30min later 15g of BCAA90min later 15g of BCAA3 eggs and 3 slices of bacon for brunchhour later Protein shake (30g) + protein bar (20grams)hour later protein shakeDinner: 2 pan fried chicken breasts + avacdo + walnuts + cucumber + spinach and lettuce
4/25/2013 9:59:27 AM
Damn. How did you feel on practically no carb?
4/25/2013 10:33:16 AM
"I feel the same way about women. The "fitness" girls at my gym only look good in workout clothes and "LuLus" but I think there is a certain grace in wearing a dress and in most cases, these girls don't look great in regular clothes."This could probably apply to most of them even without the muscles. I have wide shoulders and think I look funny in strapless dresses. I need to get more muscle on my arms because that would be an improvement over looking so gangly.

^ What kind of protein do you buy? I have been mainly eating eggs, greek yogurt, nuts, beef jerky, fruit (apples and oranges, some bananas), any kind of meat - chicken, lean pork, steak, etc, lots of 1% milk and soy milk, and then as many veggies as I can get for dinner - mainly green beans, sweet peas, broccoli, squash, zucchini, etc. I'll occasionally have a peanut butter sandwhich at night when I am starving. I do cheat at some meals and eat some extra carbs like brown rice. I've been at this for a few weeks now and I keep waiting for the pounds to start dropping. I guess I still am getting too many calories though. I am just hungry a lot and drinking water only suffices for so long.
4/26/2013 3:14:09 PM
^ I def need to start eating eggs. Beef Jerky is too fucking expensive. Any tips on where to get it cheap? I mean, I guess I could make it, but still. The only nuts I can bare are pistachios, but they're outrageous, especially if they're pre-shelled. AND I eat entirely too much beef and not enough chicken. As far as too many calories, I don't know what the fuck it would take for me not to get enough - Everything I look at tells me I need to be taking in AT LEAST 1800 a day (probably significantly more)...well, I'm getting ~1500 most days, and even down to 1000 other days and I haven't dropped a fucking pound over the past 3 months. No, you all don't care about that. Whatever.[Edited on April 26, 2013 at 3:28 PM. Reason : ]

I order beef jerky in bulk from ebay. Sounds weird, but it's the cheapest and best way to buy it. Some dude sells jerky made in the same factory as Jack's Links under the brand name "Dakota Trails". I buy lots of 125 ounces at 100 bucks, free shipping, which comes out to 80 cents an ounce, which is about half of what you'll pay for by ounce in any store. It's delicious, and the original flavor comes out to something like 80 calories, 15g protein, 3g carbs, .5g fat per ounce.
4/26/2013 4:08:00 PM
^^^ cut the fruit, nuts, and squash and you'll do great. Those are killers on a fat loss diet. Id drop the milk, way too much sugar there are better protein sources.^^ youre miscalculating your calorie intake. Common mistake. I don't know why you'd cut out any of those incredibly nutritious foods. I mean, an entire butternut squash is under 400 calories and it's amazingly filling, delicious, and all around good for you. Cutting out fruit I can understand, but nuts and squash have a good purpose in a cutting diet. Most people that are overweight don't need a Lyle McDonald "Rapid Fat Loss" inspired diet, they need to eat less. They aren't trying to get shredded, they need some kind of diet/lifestyle that can be sustained in the long-term. I think there is a way to be fit and healthy without forcing yourself through cycles of gluttony and extreme deprivation. If the staples of your diet are real food, instead of processed foods that light up the reward centers of your brain without even coming near a satiety response, the appetite has a tendency to self-regulate. Yes, you have to intentionally "cut" to get below 12 or 13%, but with a healthy metabolism that shouldn't be too painful. If you have a bad metabolism (from, I don't know, going on crash diets 3 or 4 times a year), then getting ripped is going to be nearly impossible.

Fruit is just incredibly counterproductive on a fat loss diet. Its simple if you are eating a ton of carbs you will burn less fat

Without the usage of steroids males have limitations of their genetic potential. As a novice you can gain around 0.5-1 lb of muscle per week. When you reach wahlbergs size its more like 4-5 lbs a year and you have to bust your ass just to maintain that muscle without losing it. So clearly hes on steroids to get those results. Most actors are
