is $20M enough for texas? i'm not convinced.
9/19/2011 12:12:33 AM
People are jizzing all over Texas the same way they did when they were kids and talked about Superman and Spider Man teaming up. Why stop at them? Why not get Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and the Chicago Bears?I want an east coast league.
9/19/2011 9:23:30 AM
lol
9/19/2011 9:25:54 AM
^^I agree with Hoops. The Bears sound like a reasonable option. We should not be hesitant to keep them on the table just because they are in Chicago. Peppers is a good basketball player too, even though he is a product of UNCheat.[Edited on September 19, 2011 at 9:31 AM. Reason : .]

Hawaii would help us get into the Pacific Islands recruiting game. let's get them. We can create our own Troy Polamoluaoloamuaalo.
9/19/2011 9:29:54 AM
He went to USC
9/19/2011 9:31:53 AM
^^then do a Hawiian warrior dance for pre-game. We could do it to the Firefly song and it will be just like Thriller. TOB might actually tap his foot a bit.[Edited on September 19, 2011 at 9:33 AM. Reason : .]

9/19/2011 9:34:58 AM
Because Samoans come from Hawaii.
9/19/2011 9:36:07 AM
No, but a lot of them go to Hawaii.Because it's the closest school w/ football. You people don't know how to extrapolate, do you?DURRRR...WHY DO PEOPLE FORM OKLAHOMAR GO TO TEXAS?
9/19/2011 9:38:38 AM
So what are the odds that the ACC Tournament will leave Greensboro for DAT NYC $$$ by the end of the decade?I'd say it's certain. You know Swofford couldn't care less about Greensboro.Add Texas and we'll probably be forced to play the tourney in Houston or Dallas once every 5 years.
9/19/2011 12:19:10 PM
Lol, Villanova applied to the ACC? Eh, why not? We let Duke play football.
9/19/2011 12:19:21 PM
Tournament will probably alternated between Charlotte and NYC from now on.Maybe Philly.Bank on it.
9/19/2011 12:23:21 PM
Villanova would be a great add market wise, they carry the entire SE PA market in basketball (unless you went to Temple).
9/19/2011 12:33:44 PM
ACC North: Boston College, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, MiamiACC South: North Carolina, N.C. State, Wake Forest, Duke, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida StateSounds good to me

9/19/2011 12:39:27 PM
Two more teams will be added north of NC. The separation of WF from the other NC teams isn't going to be necessary.
9/19/2011 12:48:41 PM
UConn and either Rutgers or Villanova.I'm hoping for Notre Dame, but I know it won't happen.
9/19/2011 12:53:09 PM
Notre Dame wont come to the ACC for football reasons alone. No way the ACC would allow ND to come for basketball only and screw up our football numbers. After all this is being driven purely by college football, basketball (and all other sports) are just along for the rideNow if Notre Dame wanted to bring all of their sports to the ACC, then that would be a HUGE coup for our conference. In the end though, I think ND will wind up in the Big 10I could see us going after Cincinnati or Rutgers[Edited on September 19, 2011 at 12:57 PM. Reason : asdf]
9/19/2011 12:55:53 PM
Not sure where I ever said anything about football only.
9/19/2011 12:59:36 PM
Don't know why anybody would want Villanova in the ACC.
9/19/2011 1:00:50 PM
Rutgers and UConn have to be it. For academic reasons. The only other BE teams that meet our standards are bball only or FCS for football currently (Nova).
9/19/2011 1:01:10 PM
doesn't villanova have an FCS team that's just about ready to jump to FBS? I thought they had a standing invite to the Big East in football. Might as well take them, they fit academically.NorthUConnPittSyracuseBCNorth CentralUVa Virginia TechMarylandVillanovaSouth CentralDukeNC StateUNCWake ForestSouthClemsonGeorgia TechFlorida StateMiami
9/19/2011 1:01:26 PM
Notre Dame wont come to the ACC because of their independent football status. The only way the ACC would allow them to join would be if they threw that away and brought all sports to the ACC (which isnt likely to happen)LOL, the south central would be the NFC West of the ACC[Edited on September 19, 2011 at 1:03 PM. 9/19/2011 1:02:46 PM
Do not want to be in a divison with all of the other NC teams.
9/19/2011 1:03:33 PM
Somehow Hoops Malone has the only post on this page that isn't just full of stupid[Edited on September 19, 2011 at 1:13 PM. Reason : The fact that he's allowed to post at all says a lot about our mods, though.]
9/19/2011 1:12:04 PM
the durham school being in the south central division works surprisingly well.
9/19/2011 1:18:20 PM
UCONN and WV. WV is the perfect add in terms of getting a team that we would love to hate.
9/19/2011 1:19:25 PM
Miami fits in my propsosed North Division 100 times more than Wake doesYou have to think about the culture of the team and the town more than just looking at a map
9/19/2011 1:23:07 PM
Adding anyone other than Texas, Penn St, or ND will be an absolute mistake. We have too many mediocre, mid-market football teams as it is. We don't need another one. Also, no need to add another Big East team. We already took the best of what they have.+1 for Navy, though it wont happen.
9/19/2011 1:23:36 PM
Adding anybody but Florida, Alabama, Ohio State, or USC would be a mistake.+1 for Army though
9/19/2011 1:27:43 PM
People typing Navy are being facetious, right?
9/19/2011 1:27:49 PM
^^^ is that a serious post?i can't get over how much this makes the big east look like a boy playing a man's game. even their logo looks stupid now.[Edited on September 19, 2011 at 1:30 PM. Reason : like they're the xfl or something.]
9/19/2011 1:29:02 PM
Navy attracts a larger audience than any other school in the ACC. While their football is boring, their ratings boost would be huge for our next TV contract, which is the point of the expansion.Adding UCONN, Rutgers, or Villanova would just make us weaker in football.
9/19/2011 1:34:11 PM
derp
9/19/2011 1:34:52 PM
Can you show me some ratings from Navy games last year? I can't find any CBS College Sports station ratings for some reason..

9/19/2011 1:49:17 PM
god no, please no navy. we already have enough shitty, boring football teams to watch.

Naval Academy gains nothing joining the ACC.Staying Independent in football is their best bet.
9/19/2011 2:01:22 PM
God, Rivals sucks.
9/19/2011 2:01:40 PM
I do agree about this all happening really fast. Syracuse leaving the Big East for the ACC is a pretty big deal to me, Syracuse basketball is the benchmark of the Big East in my mind and having the Big East tourney in MSG makes that conference tournament the best. Maybe I'm too nostalgic, but its gonna be hard for me to think of Syracuse as an ACC school.and this is coming from a total outsider with no stake in the Big East, I wonder how their students are taking it.
9/19/2011 2:19:59 PM
9/19/2011 2:45:41 PM
i say go for johns hopkins...i mean, the acc is a lacrosse conference, right?
9/19/2011 2:58:12 PM
GeorgetownYou get a great basketball team and a football team that plays here:
9/19/2011 3:07:58 PM
wow...that's smaller than a high school and probably middle schools in texas[Edited on September 19, 2011 at 3:11 PM. Reason : asdf]
9/19/2011 3:10:51 PM
But it looks like they are expanding, so there is a lot of potential there. And apparently, that is all we are looking for.
