+1000 Honestly, our passing game was really good outside of a couple of bad decisions by Glennon, which is going to happen when you are only starting your 4th game. We really got some bad breaks (some self inflicted) early on.

1. Not downing the first punt insdie the 2
2. a 76 yd punt downed inside our 2
3. The first Glennon pick (Was that tipped?)
4. Within Fg range and Glennon throws another pick

There's no excuse for getting destroyed up and down the field on D, but those really set us back and pretty much ended the game early.

^same thing happened in the Wake game. Our D was super soft, but I can still point to 4-5 plays in the first half that would have kept us in the game at least.

How many games will it be before people can stop this "it was only his Nth game" thing?

Glennon has a killer arm, strong and accurate, but he's a bad decision maker. THAT is what he has shown us, and he has to step up if he wants to prove otherwise.

^^^Don't forget the bone-headed play by Cato-Bishop inside the redzone. Can't remember if we were down only one or two TDs at the time...but it was third down, Cincy threw an incomplete pass and he hit the QB about 2 seconds late. Fucking retarded. If we weren't already down to the waterboys on the d-line, I would have yanked his dumbass from the game.

Our defense made some good plays...but we had to blitz on every fucking play to get any pressure. So we would make two good plays in a row, it would be 3rd and 17, and they would throw/run for 30 yards. Fucking frustrating. There was no reason we should have been blitzing on 3rd and 15+. We did it every fucking time.

^^He's about even with Wilson last year in bad decisions. Wilson made some dumb fucking throws last year.

^^ STFU. His first game in prime time in the loudest opposing stadium he has played in to date. You could also argue that if his receivers would have turned their heads around on some earlier throws we would be in better positions and not 3rd and 10+, also some sort of running attack would be nice.

The second pick was a good play by the LB. It looks like the WR is going to be open as soon as he breaks and the LB read it perfectly.

Very well said about the fan base.

I can tell you that most schools who suck Ass at both sports like we do don't even bother watching or going to the games.

If that's where someone wants to coach for $150k a year then let them.

But if they want to make a million dollars a year that means people have to care about your team and be allowed to have an opinion on if you suck monkey sac or not.

If your team sucks so fucking bad that my 62 year old mom is Texting me in the first quarter sorry state lost, going to bed then you better expect to be under some pressure.

The guy literally brings almost nothing to the table. We had an acc championship appearance gift wrapped by fsu last year and he still blew it by not utilizing basic football strategy against Clemson.

Then he panics and makes the same mistake this year against wake forest.

And don't forget he ran off the best football player in school history. He should have a one way ticket to fucking Niger, Africa by now and you stupid motherfuckers think our fan base is the problem. You probably Fuck ugly girls because the hot ones have bad personalities.

That was a bad pass. Even if the LB hadn't turned around, it would have hit him in the back of the head.

The second INT wasn't good either. Even though it was tipped at the line, Palmer was completely covered...I don't know where the fucked he was going with it.

Had the Cincy defenders turned around a couple times, he might have had a few more picks. I'm a Glennon defender, but he made some bad throws last night. He also made some good ones and had a few passes dropped. It happens.

I don't know what you expect from a guy when he gets -20 yards of rushing support and the O-line is porous all night long. But 300 yards, 2 TDs and 2 picks would be better than my expectations.

One thing we can't run, but we still play action?? the O-line gives about 2 seconds of pass protection, yet we try to through 12+ yd play passes rather than use screens and toss plays misdirection our "running game"

The fucking 0.5 yd Dive play has got to go. injuries happen, but five years in you are suppose to have even depth from your players to make up for injuries. I know we are not an SEC school, but neither is Wake or Cincy.

Negatives:

OL development (this year O'Brien switch the TE coach and OL coach this yr, doesn't appear to be working welook way worse)

D recruiting we looked very slow and not very smart

D coaching/play calling - the game plan needs to be changed good coaches find ways to work with the talent level.

RBs we have a stable or ineffective running backs years of recruiting (also tied to the OL)

Positives:
No 4 yd Punts this year.

Actually, the ESPN announcers were so damn right about the defensive play calling that it made the loss much worse. I think im going to look at the play by play on espn and see how many yards UC had on 3rd down... i don't understand how you can get TFLs on UC when they run and throw on first, and then give up 8-10-15-30 yards on 3rd down.

I also don't understand, i'm sure i'm a football coaching simpleton, but if you know you are in an all out blitz, why do you still play zone. If a team has watched film on you, they KNOW where the open areas are already and that EXACTLY what UC did last night when we blitzed...why wouldn't you play your receivers inside to take away the slant and play'em at the line instead of a 7rd cushion, its just toooo easy for any QB with an arm, and you don't even need a good OL, 3 step drops effectively neuter ANY blitz!!!!!!!

Yeah, that's the problem. Nevermind that Cinci's stadium only holds about 30,000 people and if it was full at the start it sure as hell wasn't full past halftime. Regardless, Glennon wasn't the problem.

^^ I guess Glennon should be throwing at 100% accuracy and no less than 10 yds per throw. No wonder our fan base is always the punch line to a joke. The guy had 0 rushing attack to take the pressure off of him. no offensive line at all, and still ended up with a pretty decent game.

An away game is an away game. Only the second of his career and I would say the WF game was pretty much a home game considering the amount of red in that stadium

ibt if you take away those two long throws his stats weren't that good.

Big at people trying to say Glennon played bad.

Our oline was shit, as evidenced by the 6 sacks given up and constant pressure.

What QB has a good game with his team losing 26 yards on the ground? Rivers couldn't have won that game.

Glennon needs to find away to move the ball WWRWD.

Big at people who think Glennon making normal mistakes means he's a bad QB. You ungrateful fucks were spoiled with Rivers and Wilson, and now that we have a greener quarterback going through normal QB growing pains you're all fire and brimstone. For a guy standing behind a non-existent offensive line, and next to a non-existent running game, all while staring at a defense that KNOWS our only option is to throw the ball, he's doing a damn fine job.

And what mythical coaching magic is TOB supposed to whip out of his bag of tricks to compensate for injuries? Jesus, our defense and running game is decimated, it's 2 years ago all over again. You fickle assholes were screaming "Fire TOB" after the injury plagued 2009 season, then promptly worshiped him after he tied the school's best season record last year.

You all are worse than a bunch of goldfish.

how quickly people forget that RW made his fair share of mistakes too. Some actually cost us a few games. and that was after 20+ games as a starter.

I'll agree that MG played well for what he has. I loved Russell and wish he was still here but he isn't and if we were competent at all on offense I feel like MG would be having a decent season. Some of you defend this kind of team incompetence and frankly is amazing. He is five years in and our O-line has never looked so bad. BUT HEY, we're state and we should be ok with being embarrassed on national television.

I had the feeling that the defense came to play last night. Attacking the line of scrimmage which I hadn't seen in the previous three games. Soft zone coverage is so painful to watch though on 3rd and long. Maddox looks big and physical out there, thought he did fairly well even though he did over pursue several times. I would like to see Amerson play some man coverage. People seem to ignore that the offense put the defense in bad positions early in the game that really set the tone. Regardless the defense HAS to play better.

What really bothers me is the lack of energy on offense. Yes the O-line needs to play better, but Glennon seems painfully slow at times. Coming out of the huddle, making decisions, all seems slow. Of course he is going to be sacked if he holds on to the ball 3-4 seconds, I have not seen him throw the ball away more than once or twice. If theres nothing there, throw it over someones head out of bounds even if you are in the pocket theres no intentional grounding. Glennon has a hell of an arm, but I kept thinking on several of those 3rd downs there was plenty of room to run (RW). Unless we had the o-line of Wisconsin, we need a mobile QB and the lack of mobility hurts. RW playing still loses this game, but it is closer.

Tired of coaches throwing players under the bus. If there isn't a leader on the team, then the coaches need to step up and be that leader from the sideline. NOT standing with your arms crossed. You get paid too much money to just stand there and watch it happen. Also, on offense plays seem to take a long time to come in from the sideline. That draw-sweep play makes my f-ing rage every time (the announcers were calling it out constantly also, Glennon will never take the ball! Its as if the coaches looked at what worked last year and continue to run it regardless of the fact personnel doesn't match).

I do not, for one, think that the problem was that our fanbase is down. I think the problem *may* have been that there was a team on that field that was in danger of being CRUSHED by a team of tiny dwarves. Alright? That tended to understate the hugeness of the moment.

One good defensive stand to start the game = defense came to play. Nevermind, the multiple 3 and 10+s that were given up, when we could have given the offense a chance to get us back in the game.
