Wadhead1. No this is actually at a small store up in Concord. Though if he has it in stock I would have to believe Brawley's does as well.

^^I'll have to stop by next weekend when I'm in Raleigh.

Picked up a case (12) of this today for 60 bucks- helluva deal, and they sell out pretty quickly. They market it as their own beer, but it is made by unibroue, and costs 5 bucks a 750ml bottle. Really good stuff that changes every year. I discovered it last year and bought 1, and then went back and bought the last 8 they had (still actually have one left). It is durricious and I highly suggest it (got a B+ on Beer advocate)ps: my case is the 2010 - that is a pic of last years. They just started selling this years batches, and the check out guy said it is selling faster than it ever has (he bought his case early, and said he had already sold 5 cases and plenty of singles today already)[Edited on December 10, 2010 at 5:12 PM. Restricted was less than thrilled with Silent Night. I think this was due more to the price tag than the beer itself. I should have my hands on some soon and will report back.

I am waiting on my New Belgium Globes to come in before trying the trippel. I don't have a good glass for it currently and want to make sure I put it in the right type of glass.

^damn you, I tried regular BCS for the first time a few months ago and it was amazing...I ended up wishing I had bought a 4 pack instead of a single.Currently having a Pyramid Juggernaut Red, it's not bad especially since I got a 12 pack for $6 on sale

^ not sure it's really a huge departure from the standard bourbon county, if that makes you feel betterthe espresso adds something, but it seems mostly absorbed by what's already a monster stoutlove BCS though, and extra points for beating out most of the unattainable hyped stuff out there

^^ Where did you get that Pliny the Elder? Is that hard to find?
12/27/2010 12:21:22 PM
It's hard to find in bottles, although I've had better luck than most, it's certainly not as rare as some of the seasonals like The Abyss. I follow some twitter feeds of stores I know to get it in stock occasionally, and go the day they announce it. My local store sometimes puts a couple bottles on the shelf without announcing it and since I visit frequently I pick it up almost every time I see it. It is released in batches, so typically if you know one store got some, chances are other stores got some that week as well, but it does sell out in 1-2 days. Most stores in CO have no idea when they are going to get it. There's one store that get's a couple cases at a time, typically once every 2-4 weeks. Other stores get 1-2 cases every other month or so it seems. The only problem, is that Pliny isn't an age-able beer, it's a DIPA, it's best kept cold and drank within a month or so of bottling. So when you find it you typically have to drink it right away. Also most stores have a 1-2 bottle limit. Even though it's only $5/bottle.If you ever come to Denver, you're most likely shot at tasting it is actually at a good taphouse. Falling Rock carries it occasionally, I just saw it at Uptown Brothers on tap, and a couple other places I've heard have had it.[Edited on December 27, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Reason : ;]
