BTBAM is 11/10 live. and telescreens is great too. i'd definitely give it a shot for only $13.

3/20/2009 10:46:58 AM
i mean, they play the brewery when they play in raleigh if thats what you mean.^^ and yea it was a long time coming. a few of the guys in the band didnt like their own style at all really and theyve had a ton of turnover the last few years.[Edited on March 20, 2009 at 11:15 AM. Reason : ]

3/23/2009 12:26:51 AM
the "good shows only occur in raleigh on sunday nights when I am heading back to SC" rule strikes again
3/23/2009 12:35:19 AM
i am lucking out the week i am home in april...the appleseed cast/new found glory shows in nc...i will actually be seeing nfg in san fran next weekend too
3/23/2009 12:39:03 AM

3/23/2009 12:46:02 AM
you checked out the new nfg album? pretty good stuff*loves nfg*
3/23/2009 12:47:55 AM
I have heard some of it at my friend's place (he has really been digging it) but I havent gotten around to picking it up yet. Sticks and Stones and S/T were so freaking catchy. I have catalyst and didnt listen to it much; never got around to picking up the one before this. They are fun live though...Ive thought about going to that charlotte show.edit: holy jeebus shai hulud is playing with them? I really should go to this[Edited on March 23, 2009 at 12:56 AM. Reason : ]

yea, verse was on the bill too but they broke up...so unbelievably mad about it
3/23/2009 1:01:18 AM
+ Kreator is playing at Volume 11- It's $25.I'd love to see Kreator, but I don't know about this one. Exodus is playing too. Never really liked or disliked them and don't really care if I see them.
3/23/2009 1:18:40 AM
I agree with called on his statements honestly I hope none of my fave bands do that. I don't think they do unless they play the tracks when live too which is possible and even shittier. Atleast people expect tallentless pop stars to do this. Actual bands doing it is pretty shitty.
3/23/2009 6:09:42 AM
cant get into the hard rock metal bands....godsmack is about is hard as i can stand...
3/23/2009 6:28:27 AM
^^ nah only 1 or 2 from the triangle area here are ones that I know did that and not ones I think you listen to. The thing that aggravates me now is that you wonder how far it will go. If more bands start doing this to try and sound better and get big record deals (exactly why these bands did this really), I wonder how many more bands are going to want to play along to keep themselves in the game. And most kids listening to it are oblivious too which makes it worse.[Edited on March 23, 2009 at 8:21 AM. I stand by the fact that a band isn't any good unless they are good live
3/23/2009 12:46:46 PM
im pretty much right there with you, especially these days. The main band I give an exception to is deftones. Chino is not good live, but their albums are great. Plus he used to be a lot better (especially before he shredded his vocal chords the first time).
3/23/2009 1:44:21 PM
ex. saosin (with cove)
3/23/2009 1:47:49 PM
^did you ever see Norma Jean when Brad was doing vocals? He was the one who filled in for I guess close to 2 years after josh scogin left (Brad never recorded tho). Awesome stage presence. Worst. Live. Vocalist. Ever.[Edited on March 23, 2009 at 1:52 PM. Reason : ]
3/23/2009 1:52:12 PM
oh yea, they came to the brewery with him, i was not there but i did see videos, brutally bad
3/23/2009 3:43:08 PM
Hahah until this latest album I've never liked Norma jeans vocals ..... But they still rock my face off.
3/23/2009 4:17:22 PM
aha i never listened to lutikriss, but i remember when norma jean first formed, people thought josh's vocals were the greatest thing since sliced bread[Edited on March 23, 2009 at 4:52 PM. Reason : ]

3/23/2009 7:06:23 PM
I should be getting the new Failed Séance tracks tonight (finally). They sound rougher than the other recordings, but the songs are much MUCH more bad ass.
3/24/2009 5:12:41 PM
you get those jams?
3/25/2009 8:22:54 AM
oh and as I stated previously in the music 2009 thread, Im loving the new isis.

man I never get tired of watching this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-lxwlgyhhAits from 2005 so this actually isnt that long ago, but if you never saw Dillinger live before they mellowed out a little bit at their shows you missed out! last time I saw them they still had a lot better stage presence than most bands but it wasnt the spectacle it used to be. [Edited on March 25, 2009 at 9:56 PM. Reason : ]
3/25/2009 9:55:03 PM
^ so wait what are they so upset about?
3/25/2009 10:03:07 PM
i was always fond of this dillinger performancehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJjSE-y5o-k
3/25/2009 10:42:29 PM
haha yes that one is awesome too. and what makes that more awesome is that that same festival and same stage is host to brad from norma jean's worst taped performance ever probably haha. he totally destroys (in a bad way) one of norma jean's best songs ever "memphis will be laid to waste"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eOT6STvRfg&feature=relatedmakes you wonder if they ever even listened to him scream when they asked him to fill in lol.on another note, aaron weiss' guest vocals on that song on the record are the best part of that song imo [Edited on March 25, 2009 at 10:51 PM. 3/30/2009 9:40:07 PM
i was excited to see shai hulud at the brewery a few months ago, but they didn't really impress me live that much. i was dissapointed. maybe that was a result of my high expectations though.

I havent had that many metal/hardcore releases that I have really loved so far this year and there arent a ton that I am that excited about coming out later this year. :/ Isis is solid so I've been happy with that, and a few others I guess but it seems like a pretty slow year. TONS of bands out there, just not much that is really resonating with me.
