may was definitely a reach, there wasnt a person in the world who thought that was a good pick

Dude I just posted right before you that Felton was the best pick at #5 and May was terrible. It has nothing to do with UNC. It is the fact that he is a worthless fat piece of shit.He wasn't even that good when healthy. Danny fucking Granger went 4 picks after May and I am pretty sure that is who we wanted at the time and we would take him in a heartbeat now.
5/22/2008 2:08:05 PM
the only positive thing that scouts said about may was his "good hands". Getting picked where he did because of so called good hands is ridiculous. I don't know of anybody, except for a few stupid carolina fans, that actually thought that was a good pick.
5/22/2008 4:20:25 PM
the Sean May @ #13 in 2005 was a bad pick then, now, and most likely in the future. No one was questioning his college credentials, it was about how he would translate into an NBA player. I read and heard a lot of people say, at the time, that Danny Granger should have been our pick. Guess what, they were right. Who knows though, May could turn out to be a halfway decent player if he can get his injuries behind him.As for the 2008 draft: What I think we need/want for the team is either a crazy athletic & skilled PF or PG, in that order. Though he's the antithesis of 'crazy athletic", I really think Kevin Love would fit well with this team. At this point in his career, Felton is a slightly above average point guard and would most likely benefit from some legitimate competition for the starting job (Knight, McInnis and Boykins DO NOT count as legitimate competition). Trading up to get Mayo or staying put and going with DJ Augistine or Eric Gordon make good sense. There's talent in this draft, unfortunately the Cats are kinda in nomansland as far as draft order.
5/22/2008 5:04:39 PM
i wouldn't say Felton is above average.Kevin Love isn't much more athletic than Sean May. He's a littler taller and may be more skilled, but I question his explosiveness. I still think we should pick him if he's available. I just think he's a slight upgrade over May, mainly because he'll be healthier
5/22/2008 6:17:45 PM
I've always been on board with Kevin Love. We need low post scoring to complement Okafor. This article sounds like he's coming around too.. I don't think the city has the patience for a Deande Jordan type player.http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft2008/insider/columns/story?columnist=ford_chad&page=DraftWatch-080516
5/26/2008 10:07:47 AM
wow, mock draft 2.0 has Brook Lopez slipping to us. That would be our best scenario we'd actually have decent size pairing him with Okafor and rotating Nazr in off the bench.I think we'd be a borderline playoff contender (37-42 wins) with Lopez as long as Morrison's return doesn't drag us down too far.
5/28/2008 9:09:40 AM
i'd much rather have love than lopez. I think lopez has bust written all over him
5/28/2008 10:26:34 PM
Little less than a week til draft day. Haven't really heard much, other than Kevin Love is pretty much refusing to work out for the Bobcats. This is similar to what Brandon Roy did a few years ago. Unlike the Roy situation though, I think Brown came out and said that he could give two shits if a player refuses to work out for the team -- if he thinks the guy can play, he'll draft him anyway.Anybody heard anything else regarding the Bobcats draft?
6/18/2008 11:58:22 AM
Fuck Love if he is going to be like that....he is far from a sure thing. He is too short to play 5 and too slow to play the 4. Plus he has conditioning issues. I think Lopez would be the better fit although he is probably more raw because he can play the 5 and Okafor can play his natural 4 position.
6/18/2008 12:00:59 PM
I remember after we did the Kobe/Vlade trade, Kobe said if the Hornets hadn't dealt him, he'd have played in Charlotte
6/18/2008 12:02:00 PM
for a few years maybeas soon as he was eligible for free agency, I'm sure he would have bolted
6/18/2008 12:03:03 PM
Remember Love has serious knee issues, just like May. All this team needs is another Sean May.Now I'm thinking about trade possibilities. Wonder if the Bobcats could get any respectable trade offer for the 9th pick? A sharp-shooting power forward would be perfect ... Antawn Jamison maybe. Then there's Rasheed Wallace, but God help us all if he actually comes here.[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 12:04 PM. Reason : ]
6/18/2008 12:03:45 PM
we ought to bring back Jeff McInnis...as SOON as we cut him last year, not only did we play .500 + ball for the rest of the season, but we really screwed ourselves out of a top-3 pick...BRING BACK MCINNIS AND VINCENT...WE MUST TAKE PSYCHO T WITH THE 1ST OVERALL PICK NEXT YEAR]

Just saw on ESPN where we traded for the Nuggets 20th pick. Gave up a future protected first round pick.http://www.nba.com/nuggets/news/nuggets_trade_20pick_062508.html[Edited on June 25, 2008 at 6:25 PM. Reason : link]

i hope we take russell westbrook with the first pick. im not sold on kevin love, but if brook lopez fell i would be pretty happy with that too. Im not sure about the second pick. After seeing hibbert in the tournament, he looked pretty robotic. maybe jj hickson with the 20th pick? thatd be awesome
6/25/2008 6:56:37 PM
i dont think westbrook will be theremaybe if he isnt picked 4th
6/25/2008 6:59:28 PM
i'd much rather have Hickson than Hibbert...a lot more upside
6/25/2008 6:59:31 PM
yea i meant if westbrook falls, which i doubt. hibbert cant run at all and with the team we have I don't know how he can fit in. Hes so damn slow. At least hickson can run, he'd probably fit in with the bobcats really well.
6/25/2008 7:06:24 PM
does jordan have the balls to take a Triangle player east of Exit 273?
6/25/2008 8:10:41 PM
What about packaging 9 and 20 and trading up for one high pick ?Maybe 9 and 20 plus Morrison to Minnesota for the 3rd pick[Edited on June 25, 2008 at 8:26 PM. Reason : of course with Jordan running things, we'll probably take Brook Lopez at 9 and his brother at 20]

JJ at 20?
6/26/2008 12:09:39 AM
No chance. He played for NC State and the Bobcats are a tarheel team, from the front office on down.
6/26/2008 3:06:13 AM
Last night a league source said that Charlotte was closing in on a deal with Memphis that would give the Bobcats the fifth pick, with their eye on Russell Westbrook or Kevin Love.http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/nba/
6/26/2008 8:28:58 AM
Couldn't they get Westbrook at 9?It might be a dream, but I'd package the no. 9 pick and Gerald Wallace and send them to Miami for Beasley.
6/26/2008 8:44:59 AM
I don't want to get rid of Wallace for somebody who has yet to show they can be a factor in the NBA...I think Beasley will be a good player but we already know what Wallace is capable of doing at the NBA level
6/26/2008 11:22:26 AM
^^No, he is a true point guard, PAC-10 Defensive POTY too. I have said earlier that Charlotte would be lucky to get either Love or Westbrook.
6/26/2008 11:24:52 AM
wasnt Westbrook a 2 guard and then played point once Farmar left? seems like everybody calls Westbrook a combo guard
6/26/2008 11:30:04 AM
Collison played the point after Farmar left, and Westbrook played 2. Then Collison got hurt early 07-08 and Westbrook played PG. Then they pretty much rotated PG depending on the play.Thing is, Collison will go 1st round next year, he played shitty in the NCAA's at times so he decided to stay this year. UCLA's #1 recruit is a PG, Gatorade POTY in 2007, and a preseason lottery pick.Meaning 5 former UCLA PG's will likely be running the point in the NBA in 2009.... B. Davis, Farmar, Westbrook, Collison, Holliday....Crazy.
6/26/2008 11:58:44 AM
If they did get Westbrook, he'd have to start out off the bench as an energy guy. I've seen him play a few times, and don't think he'll ever be a true PG in the NBA. More of a Lindsay Hunter-type player (similar defensive presence, but better athleticism and a worse shot). As far as packaging Wallace, I love the guy, but the Bobcats seem to have much better rhythm offensively with Carroll starting at the 3.
6/26/2008 12:32:36 PM
i think the whole "Bobcats are better with Wallace out of the lineup" thing is completely overblown and misleading...many people would look at the 5-game win streak we had last season with Gerald out of the lineup, and how we lost the first few games with Gerald back...allow me to clarify a few details...the 5 game win streak was against such teams as Minnesota and Atlanta...in addition to Gerald being out during the 5 game win streak, we had recently cut Jeff McInnis...that requires extra emphasis so I underlined it...its funny when your starting PG who averages 35mpg also averages 4 points and 4 assists per game and then...i wonder when the last time a starting player who had played probably 1,200 minutes in a season just got cut...but also when Gerald came back, we played teams such as Dallas and Houston (in the midst of their 20+ game win streak)...don't forget Gerald was integral in the 12 point win @ Boston over the Celtics...they simply couldnt stop the high screen and roleI like Carroll and think he was underutilized last year in Vincent's rotations...I also realize that most people like Gerald's energy but realize he has shown he has issues with injury because he plays so hard (although some of those injuries could be alleviated if he doesnt play out of position at power forward)...but I think by far the main reason we went on that 5 game win streak was that we had Felton at the PG and McInnis was not a member of the team anymore...in fact since cutting McInnis, the team actually played > .500 ball for the rest of the season...and > .500 ball in the East = playoffs
6/26/2008 12:42:13 PM
Good points, but I think the main reason we can't trade Wallace is his contract. We have him locked up at under 10 mil a year for the next 5. No star player is going to take less than that to come to a city like Charlotte...we're just not a high profile destination. We're going to have to build thru the draft and trades. I think anyone but Wallace and Richardson are tradable if the right deal comes along. And Wallace and Richardson are tradeable too, but it would have to be a "knock your socks off" kind of deal
6/26/2008 12:57:02 PM
i saw sean may a few weeks ago at a bar in charlotte.. he was with Brandon Haywood as well. I went up to him, said whats up... then told him all i reall wanted to say was "Go State".Needless to say he gave me the look of death, and didn't think it was funny in the least bit. my buddy saw his reaction from the other side of the bar, and asked me what i said to him because he looked like he wanted to kill me.this in itself = an awesome night out in charlotte
6/26/2008 1:02:12 PM
what bar by chance? the reason i ask is that if it was one of the bars that has the popcorn machines in it, i'll bet thats where he was camped out

should've bought them a round of drinks to bury the hatchetthen tricked them into picking up your tab like Seabass
6/26/2008 1:09:53 PM
I just want you all to know that you will have a lottery pick again next year, gg
6/26/2008 9:29:21 PM
Yeah well we could pick first and these guys would fuck it up with a George Zidek pick or something....This team just keeps getting harder to pull for.
6/26/2008 9:31:18 PM
what kind of bullshit pick was that, another garbage international player
6/26/2008 9:34:00 PM
could they be sandbagging to land Hansbrough with the #1 pick next year?
