25twice in one inning....awful^we've got the worst pitching staff in the history of baseball. We'll be lucky to win a playoff series (if we get there)[Edited on September 24, 2006 at 10:44 PM. Reason : ]

another blown call
9/24/2006 10:44:04 PM
Mets are gonna end up facing the Cards in the LDS it looks like... Thank god Carpenter is a righty. Doesn't matter how good he is, we'll own right handed pitchers. You could throw my 3 year old cousin out there left handed and the Mets would get shut out.
9/24/2006 10:45:53 PM
we're not getting that farthis game is bullshit
9/24/2006 10:47:05 PM
Um, that's the first round...If the Phils win the wild card and the Pads/Dodgers finish with a better record then the Cards it's STL/NYM
9/24/2006 10:48:31 PM
^we only have a 3.5 game lead in the central right now over the team that just swept us. I'm saying I think we have a chance to miss the playoffs.[Edited on September 24, 2006 at 10:51 PM. Reason : only 8th but bottom of the order coming up]
9/24/2006 10:51:13 PM

NC State fans would say Fire La Russa. We fucking suck. Im hoping the Padres/Dodgers win the WC so we don't have to play the Mets. But the way things are going, I would like to just make it.

9/24/2006 11:33:34 PM
OH WHAT THE FUCK
9/26/2006 12:10:16 AM
SON OF A FUCKING BITCH!We are only 2.5 ahead of Houston now.If we end up losing the division because of last night, I am going to personally kill Angel Hernandez.
9/26/2006 12:13:55 AM
did we fucking lose again?
9/26/2006 12:15:53 AM
6-5 to the Padres. On a good note Edmonds hit a pinch hit 3-run homer to tie it at 5. On a bad note, our 2nd best pitcher Suppan didn't last the 4th and gave up 4 runs.
9/26/2006 12:16:57 AM
figures, this blowsour magic number is 5 and we have 6 games left. we're totally fucked now that houston is on a hot streak. I would hope they cant continue winning games, but I think we're more than capable of losing a few more in a row. We've already had multiple 10 game losing streaks this year.
9/26/2006 12:25:00 AM
bout to lose again
9/26/2006 11:11:19 PM
Carpenter just lost the Cy Young to Webb. La Russa had to keep him in cause the 'pen fucking blows.[Edited on September 26, 2006 at 11:14 PM. Reason : lost]

^still think we're gonna make the playoffs?
9/26/2006 11:16:51 PM
Yeah, you will. Collapses like this just don't happen. It reminds me a bit of Chicago/Cleveland last year. I bet tomorrow you win.. Chris Young is due for a letdown for the Pads and the 'Stros have their weakest starter, Hirsch going tomorrow. If you win tommorow and the 'Stros lose it's all but over still.. that's why the season is 162 games long. Look at the Mets right now. They are playing just as badly as you guys are.. at the end of 162 the team that is better, longer will win out. The Cardinals were better, longer then the Astros and they'll be in...
9/26/2006 11:20:25 PM
God I hope you are right.I don't want to have to kill Angel Hernandez.
9/26/2006 11:23:56 PM
^^good point^good point, I'll help
9/26/2006 11:26:51 PM
What did I tell you. If the Astros end up losing tonight you guys are definitely gonna be in..Now go ahead and tell me the Mets are going to win another game again in 2006...
9/27/2006 11:21:51 PM
Pujols for MVP....write it down.Howard may have better power numbers but you just cannot vote against someone so clutch.
9/27/2006 11:23:56 PM
^^haha
9/28/2006 12:01:57 AM
The 'Stros just won 7-6 in 15 innings. When will it end?
9/28/2006 12:02:48 AM
thats not good for business
9/28/2006 12:04:06 AM

9/28/2006 9:26:09 PM
FIRE TONY!
9/28/2006 9:35:53 PM
FIRE MARQUIS!How do you lose 16 games when you have a 95 MPH heater and a good curve and the Cardinals lineup????
9/29/2006 12:44:12 AM
i haven't posted at all during the collapseperhaps this meaningless post will break the spell
9/29/2006 7:42:55 AM
^nice try, but apparently Weaver is going for us tonight....thats an automatic L unless we can put up 10 runs at least.
9/29/2006 11:19:34 AM
I hate both the cardinals and the astros. let's go cinci.
9/29/2006 11:20:33 AM
9/29/2006 12:56:17 PM
You got that right.Marquis can either give you 7-shutout innings or 7 runs in 3 innings. He needs to go this offseason, I think Duncan can't save this cat.
9/29/2006 12:59:11 PM
I'm a Reds fan. We're only mathematical, but hey, there's only 3 games left.Reds, Braves, and Brewers baby!

Your National League Central Division Champions
10/1/2006 3:41:51 PM
jesus you guys are fucking horriblechampions of the worst fucking division who would be in 3rd or worse in any other one
10/1/2006 3:57:34 PM
You are just mad that your team collapsed and didn't win their division like ours did. Of course our team wins the Central just about every year anyhow.Neither team will fare well in the postseason Im afraid.
10/2/2006 12:23:35 AM
I think the cardinals are going to the world series...i mean the national league is hurting right now so they have as good of chance as anyone...especially if carpenter can pitch two times each series
10/2/2006 12:47:04 AM
Jeez why all the hate? The Cards are far from horrible. The last 2 years, they had 100 win seasons. Sure, this was a "down" year, but over the last several years they have lost Darryl Kile to death, and Woody Williams and Matt Morris, without really replacing them with anyone notable (unless you call the superflop Mark Mulder a replacement). I think it's admirable that they still managed to win the NL Central and lead the entire way despite 2 8-game losing streaks, a 7-game losing streak, a season ending injury to their closer, a no-name relief corps, and long term injuries to Albert Pujols, David Eckstein, and Jim Edmonds. So yeah, under the circumstances, 83-78, a division title, and 1 win away from the NLCS is not bad, so maybe you should stop hating. Go Cards.
10/6/2006 12:30:41 AM
Eckstein and Edmonds have just made all the difference in the world.Jeff Weaver quietly ended the year pitching well especially on the road, this is not a surprise to me.Sup can finish it off at home now.
10/6/2006 3:17:08 AM
yeah so i think we're not gonna get to play the mets.
