Have any of you people been to the patent office? We have patent #43278654, 5 minute scoring drought. We own that shit. It's not changing with a new coach.

NIT or bust!!!
1/20/2011 7:19:46 PM
i'm not giving up on the season, its still early, there's still a lot of games to be played......but if we go the NIT route, we'll have another championship banner to hang beside old spice & glen wilkes. mark it.

Tomorrow is Sid's birthday. What are you guys getting him?
1/20/2011 8:05:44 PM
http://www.wralsportsfan.com/ncsu/story/8977774/Yow to review Lowe's status at season's endnothing we all didn't already know though
1/20/2011 8:35:31 PM
all coaches get a review at the end of their respective seasons
1/20/2011 8:46:03 PM
yeah, but this review will be FOR REAL
1/20/2011 8:53:35 PM
did this get posted yet?http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=6041658

^ In other news, someone other than UNC football is about to go on probation ^^^When your AD openly discusses said year end reviews, that's not very good[Edited on January 20, 2011 at 9:12 PM. Reason : ]

when's the last time a college coach in a major conference was fired mid-season based on team performance
1/20/2011 10:45:01 PM
Not a major conference school, but the only one I can think of is Benny Moss at UNC WilmingtonEdit: Wasn't Dennis Felton fired mid-season?Edit 2: Yep. Google tells me Mark Gottfried also resigned mid-season[Edited on January 20, 2011 at 11:19 PM. Reason : gooooogle]

^^ haha i sorta know benny moss personally. Hit him with a water balloon full of mayonnaise in '93 after he got out of the shower. perfect shot.Dennis Felton was a well known cheater. Pretty sure everyone wanted us to hire him too during the coaching search. GREAT idea TWW!!!!Remember when W.Ky had that guy who was going to go #1 in the draft overall? Marcus something... pretty sure he went undrafted

^^^+1 (-minus the tone you're taking with our AD)but +1 for the idea

Do I even need to point out how retarded it is to excoriate people for judging Lowe before the season is up while at the same time suggesting we keep Lowe regardless of how the remainder of the season plays out. [Edited on January 21, 2011 at 1:56 AM. Reason : .]

All I want to know is what systemic problems that Sid's teams have been plagued with (as all are) have notably improved from year to year?
1/21/2011 12:46:13 PM
that's a fresh idea
1/21/2011 12:51:13 PM
^^Rebounding, Transition offense, turnovers, dunks, etc just this year...but I thought the last 2 years we were significantly better on defense (fundamentally and how hard we played) than we were the first 2. This year we are worse at shit you would expect freshmen to be worse at...specifically Defense (we play hard but get caught out of position more...freshmen mistakes)....taking bad shots, poor decision making, etc. Also, Tracy is fat and out of shape. Still playing ok but still. He's missing layups, not dunking as easily, and slow on O and D. Not his fault he got hurt. Nor Lowe's. Still...need to evaluate at end of season. Until then, all I've been wanting is people to shut up.[Edited on January 21, 2011 at 12:56 PM. Reason : ]
1/21/2011 12:55:02 PM
there are a lot of things we're doing better this year. there are a lot of areas we can improve on.
1/21/2011 1:27:52 PM
^^I have been meaning to bring up something I noticed against Duke: Does anyone else see that Tracy is not getting very much air off his jumps AT ALL? It looked like Duke's bigs could just stand there with their arms up and swat a lot of his jump shots... Was this just me?
1/21/2011 2:27:33 PM
It's like he just had knee surgery or something
1/21/2011 2:30:00 PM
lol, that's very true. But he also claims that his knees are causing him zero pain at this point. could four weeks of taking it easy really ruin his jump like that, or do you think maybe it's psychological?
1/21/2011 2:34:41 PM
I think its the shadow of a vacant father casting doubt on his own mortality which is directly tied into his leg and ass muscles.
1/21/2011 2:40:09 PM
doesn't everyone that just had knee surgery immediately regain all their conditioning and explosiveness?
1/21/2011 2:43:35 PM
I'm legitimately not trying to be a douche bag. It seemed strange to me how poorly he jumped in that game is all. [Edited on January 21, 2011 at 2:44 PM. Reason : yeah, ok... I get it ]
1/21/2011 2:43:54 PM
he's obviously a little heavier than he should be
1/21/2011 2:45:38 PM
1/21/2011 2:48:45 PM
Those could both be true statements. I think he mentioned the zero pain thing after our last pre-acc game or something like that. So, yeah, 85%. That makes sense.also, for those who don't think Lowe makes changes at halftime:
1/21/2011 2:51:19 PM
^perhaps his knees are causing zero pain, but b/c he's a little out of shape for resting so long, he's only playing 85% as well as he was before the injury.
1/21/2011 2:52:10 PM
Yeah, I buy that.
