got it up and running... taking forever to install all my apps, but then again, I have over 400 haha
6/12/2013 12:23:20 AM
using a panoramic pic as the home screen or lock screen is pretty trippy
6/12/2013 4:14:20 PM
also, a couple of my apps have little colored dots next to their name under their icon... any idea what this is?
6/13/2013 4:48:38 PM
I'm not sure what you're talking about unless you're referring to the little dots at the bottom of the folder view that show how many pages that folder contains and which page you're currently viewing. Folders can contain multiple pages now.
6/18/2013 3:58:30 PM
^^ No idea on the dots, but have you used the panorama feature in 7? It gets all fucked up when I try to use it. Worked perfectly on 6.
6/18/2013 9:40:35 PM
Jaybee - it signifies the app was updated
6/19/2013 9:00:41 AM
^ nice, good knowledge.^^ panorama has worked fine for me on 7I have had several things crash on the first time it try to open it, but it works fine after the phone reboots and I try a second time. Especially camera. When texting, if I have multiple convos going, the contact names at the top of the screen overlap on top of each other.

Just got my 3rd iPhone 5 in 6 months. Both of the first 2 had the same issue: top button (power/sleep) stopped working. Not a huge deal because Apple replaced them for free both times, just an inconvenience to have to take it to the store. This time though, the Apple guy told me that it's probably my Otterbox case that is causing the issue. I have the Otterbox Commuter. Is there any truth to this? If so, what cases do you guys recommend?
6/19/2013 10:20:13 AM
mine has started to occasionally require an extra push of the button on top to wake the phone. I might bring it in for replacement.
6/19/2013 10:26:21 AM
^ Both of mine started out that way and just got worse over time, to the point that they didn't work at all. I read a couple articles online that said it was a known issue with the first few production runs of the iPhone 5, but the guys at the Apple store insist that isn't true. For the record, you can use the home button to wake the phone. My issue was putting it to sleep and being able to restart it when my apps got wonky.[Edited on June 19, 2013 at 10:39 AM. Reason : a]
6/19/2013 10:37:47 AM
odd... never had that problem, but then again I never use a case that covers that button
6/19/2013 11:26:06 AM
6/19/2013 11:41:30 AM
^ hmmm. I find that I only have that issue if I or the person I'm texting has a shitty signal.
6/19/2013 11:55:25 AM
It's been pretty consistent. It's happened when we're both using wifi, one wifi/one cellular, both cellular.
6/19/2013 12:04:11 PM
Sorry for the double post, but couldn't edit. Here's an example of the shitty panorama:It's done this is multiple scenarios...inside at home, outside landscapes. It's like it gets halfway through and starts giving up.
6/19/2013 12:53:16 PM
hey Eric...have you looked into the Lifeproof case?http://www.lifeproof.com/en/iphone-5/
6/19/2013 2:05:03 PM
^ yeah. the guy at the Apple store said that the Lifeproof cases have the same impact as the Otterbox cases. But I am thinking he may have just been telling me that because he wanted me to buy one of their cases.[Edited on June 19, 2013 at 3:27 PM. Reason : a]

6/19/2013 4:02:57 PM
^^I've replaced 2 iPhone 5's for spots (dust) on the camera lens, so they shouldn't give you any grief.First time I've had that problem with an iPhone (I've owned all of them), and it happened twice in the span of a few months.
6/19/2013 5:11:03 PM
One thing I can say about Apple is that their customer service is pretty fucking awesome. Sprint would have probably told me that the case caused the issue and thus voided the warranty.

iOS7 Beta update just released. Quick download/install. Took me about 3 min
6/24/2013 1:37:26 PM
do you have to be a developer to get it?
6/25/2013 9:00:21 AM
nevermind...i see you have to be a dev or pay $99. i'll just wait.
6/25/2013 9:05:20 AM
FYI if you have verizon you can now use personal hotspot without paying the fee.Just noticed this today. 4S.
6/25/2013 12:36:33 PM

my iOS7 is a LOT buggier now that the beta2 has come out... weird. Especially the fonts on the home screen. Sometimes they are white, sometime black.
6/25/2013 10:15:09 PM
It's not weird. It's to be expected from half finished software only meant for developers. I can't imagine how dumb you'd have to be to be running this on your primary means of communication.
6/25/2013 10:30:38 PM
Pretty much this ^
6/25/2013 10:33:03 PM
its not weird for the Beta2 that is supposed to address bugs in the first Beta release to be worse? Makes total sense.
6/25/2013 10:39:30 PM
Clearly you have zero idea what the purpose of the beta is.At this point they may or not be concerned with fixing bugs. They're still in the process of ironing out which features, APIs, and system calls will be used. I know they added a lot of features in this beta that weren't in the first one. More features with untested, new software is going to mean more bugs. That's just how it works. Fixing the bugs is still to come (and most of the bugs will be found by legitimate users of the beta) You sitting here complaining about bugs in software that you were never meant to use and clearly have no clue about the ramifications of using is getting pretty annoying.[Edited on June 25, 2013 at 10:49 PM. Reason : P.S. I hope you don't need to call 911, because if you do on iOS7 they can't find you.]
6/25/2013 10:48:21 PM
oh sorry, I misread "This iOS7 contains bug fixes and improvements", my fault.and I missed where I typed "beta releases have no errors or bugs ever, the are perfect!!" but I guess I did. I thought I just typed that there are MORE bugs than expected if beta 2 is supposed to fix some of the bugs in the first beta release. Also like how 2 posts out of 243 pages is "getting annoying"My fault bro[Edited on June 25, 2013 at 10:54 PM. 6/25/2013 10:54:11 PM
I'm not misinterpreting anything. It's clear that you don't understand the purpose of the beta, and instead of allowing yourself to be educated you're just gonna keep coming in here and bitching about things you don't understand. Of course they fixed SOME bugs, but they also probably introduced 2 new ones for every one they fixed. There is a reason that Apple doesn't want the general public to be using beta firmware and you complaining about every little detail you find wrong on something that you aren't even supposed to have only serves as the perfect example of why. If you're going to be doing something stupid that you aren't supposed to be doing, at least have the decency to not bitch and moan when it turns out poorly.
6/25/2013 11:04:48 PM
sigh.so you are saying that a newer release, which is supposed to fix bugs from the first (and yes, it may add some more) usually has more bugs than the original? I know its POSSIBLE. But its not the usual. And for it to have a LOT more bugs, so more than if they had just done nothing at all, while possible, is very unusual, therefore it is "weird"[Edited on June 25, 2013 at 11:11 PM. Reason : d]
6/25/2013 11:10:13 PM
sigh indeed. herp a derp good buddy.
6/25/2013 11:11:00 PM
^^not at all unusual. It's not release software, no point in bitching about it.
6/25/2013 11:14:32 PM
oh sorry great ones, I didnt realize I couldnt talk about it. Sacred ground... ohhhhhhhhh shhhh
6/25/2013 11:15:56 PM
Well actually the NDA you agreed to when you signed up for the developer's program does restrict you from discussing any part of the firmware in public so yeah, you're not allowed to talk abou...ohh...crap, I forgot, you stole it. So I guess that pesky little NDA doesn't apply to you after all. Lucky us.
6/25/2013 11:19:42 PM
More interested in hearing about the new features and shit, not how the font colors are messed up on the home screen.
6/25/2013 11:20:39 PM
^^ how exactly did I steal it?Well? Waiting... how did I steal it?and every single article written about it has broken that too? [Edited on June 25, 2013 at 11:27 PM. Reason : d]
6/25/2013 11:21:33 PM
Are you...are you asking me to define the word steal for you? The only way you can legally acquire the beta is to sign up for the developers program and download the ipsw directly from the Apple Dev portal. If you did that, then I sincerely apologize. I did assume that because on the previous page you were begging someone to give you a copy for $50, that you weren't a developer with legal access to the file. And yes, all those articles are breaking the NDA. Obviously, it's not something that Apple cares too much about putting a stop to, but it is technically a breach of a developers contract with Apple.[Edited on June 25, 2013 at 11:41 PM. Reason : themoreyouknow.jpg all up in here.]
6/25/2013 11:41:17 PM
A developer can obviously have more than one device loaded with the Beta. And no, I didnt pay someone, that was a joke.
6/25/2013 11:44:14 PM
so...you paid Apple $99 and legally acquired the beta?
6/25/2013 11:49:34 PM
so if three people worked at the same development company, they would each have to pay $99? sure about that?[Edited on June 26, 2013 at 12:00 AM. Reason : d]
