Watch him be the only recruit that stays committed to us. He could be our new Dennis Horner FLAMING BASKETBALL TAT HERE WE COME!

Sounds like a backup plan if Uchebo never makes it here
2/12/2011 4:27:50 PM
not really, since it said his future is playing facing the basket. i don't want to replace a guy recruited to play good interior defense and get rebounds with dennis horner 2.0[Edited on February 12, 2011 at 7:51 PM. Reason : also he is still skinnier than julius hodge. i bet the dude is 6'10 120 lbs]

Found this on Mikulic's ESPN profileStrengths:Mikulic is a long and very skilled power forward that does a great job of knocking down open shots with range to the arc. He is also a good ball handler, passer and decent rebounder for his size as well. Mikulic runs the pretty well and is perfect for stretching the defense on the side of dribble penetration and in pick and pop situations. Mikulic also is a pretty good shot blocker on and away from the ball.Weaknesses:Mikulic must add strength and work to develop his back to the basket moves. He also must be more physical and compete for rebounds on a consistent basis. He is a good not great athlete so working to improve his explosiveness would also help him become a better finisher.Bottom Line:Mikulic is a skilled power forward with great size. He can knock down open shots with three point range and can handle, pass and block shots. He is a good rebounder that could improve with a more consistent battle attitude. He must add strength and build his back to the basket moves but has great upside. They also rate him an 88 overall and the #26 center in the 2012 class.

^I was thinking the same thing. There must be a lot of centers for him to be the #88 overall but only the #26 Center
2/22/2011 8:27:06 AM
^ i think 88 is his grade out of 100
2/22/2011 8:48:41 AM
ah, gotcha. thats worded weird I guess
2/22/2011 9:06:53 AM
yeah i read it that way at first too but then i remembered that espn does the grading scale for their recruiting[Edited on February 22, 2011 at 9:12 AM. Reason : d]
2/22/2011 9:12:14 AM
88 out of 90 isnt bad...

FWIW, text message from tyler lewis's dad to PackPrie. We'll see if it holds true:
2/25/2011 4:37:36 PM
good to hear
2/25/2011 5:10:13 PM
That's a hell of a text message.
2/25/2011 5:12:02 PM
I just hope are other players / recruits stay loyal, too. Tyler is going to be special.
2/25/2011 5:26:17 PM
2/25/2011 5:51:41 PM
^ Chris Wright and Dan Werner beg to differ.
2/25/2011 6:33:16 PM
Larry Davis, too. Also all the Memphis players who followed Cal to Kentucky.
2/25/2011 7:06:01 PM
im excited about the croatian, i love guys who sprout late. THey have much better skillsets because they grow up playing real basketball as opposed to a guy who is 6'1 in middle school and gets stuck under the basket their whole lives. There's so many Penny Hardaway type success stories and a million guys who were 8th grade big man standouts who did nothing in college

2011 PF Nemanja Djurisic is supposed to be visiting as well as 2012 combo guard JaQawn Raymond.Djurisic, besides us, has offers from Arizona State and Utah.

You honestly think CJL played well enough this year to warrant someone drafting him? He won't even make the ACC's all freshmen team.
3/4/2011 4:48:30 PM
He's averaging 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks, not bad at all for a freshman. But I agree, he's got a lot to learn before going pro, particularly on defense.[Edited on March 4, 2011 at 5:05 PM. Reason : V Ha, I hear you. I think it's obviously in his best interest to come back.]
3/4/2011 4:55:35 PM
Can't leave out the .547 ft% and 1.8 turnovers/gm. Also his conduct (or misconduct) that got him suspended. I'm trying to paint a less than positive picture with the hopes that he returns next season.[Edited on March 4, 2011 at 5:05 PM. Reason : df]
3/4/2011 4:59:42 PM
JaQawn Raymond plays for the Georgia Stars AAU team, which is the same team that Richmond bound Alonzo Nelson-Ododa plays for. You may remember that we were recruiting Nelson-Ododa, so I'm guessing that the staff saw something in Raymond while evaluating Nelson-Ododa.
3/5/2011 4:47:02 PM
Leslie will definitely make the ACC All freshman team...And, IMO, he'll go pro, just not in the early rounds.
3/6/2011 12:01:18 AM
I really hope Leslie stays. I think one more year will do him good.
3/6/2011 12:02:52 AM
3/6/2011 1:55:35 AM
He'll stay this year. He's not a first round pick at this point, and people are stupid to leave if they aren't a first rounder.
3/6/2011 1:59:04 AM
someone gotta be second rounder!
3/6/2011 3:18:52 AM
someone would have to want him for him to go pro. hes got some work to do before he is draftable.
3/6/2011 3:34:53 AM
What are you guys basing all these opinions on? I haven't seen any mock drafts or rankings that project him later than the 1st round. He is easily one of the top 5 most athletic guys available this year. Some team will be glad to take him for late first round money and let him develop a few years.
3/6/2011 9:32:24 AM
He isn't in any mock draft I can see....http://www.nbadraft.net/2011mock_draft
3/6/2011 9:39:53 AM
^ could have sworn he was still listed on that site a few weeks ago, but I could be wrongEspn still has him ranked 26. Although then they say they project him as a top 10 guy. Maybe they haven't updated it in a while...http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft/results/top100/_/year/2011/set/1
3/6/2011 9:44:50 AM
^^ Why don't they have Henson listed anywhere on that mock?nbadraft.net credibility watch[Edited on March 6, 2011 at 10:03 AM. Reason : .]
3/6/2011 10:03:10 AM
Leslie is 11th in the 2012 mock. They try and decide when guys are going pro so just because he isn't listed on the 2011 mock doesn't mean he would definitely not be a first rounder.

We got a verbal from Jaqawn Raymond before tonight's game, 6'4" Georgia combo guard Jaqawn Raymond. According to PI.
