Trailing late in games, Paige's free throws will come in handy.

Just noticed that Virginia won the ACC regular season without a player in the Top 20 of the ACC in scoring. lol. Georgia Tech is the only other team without a player in the Top 20.
3/4/2014 12:01:27 PM
Virginia winning the ACC this year with teams like Duke, UNC, and Syracuse just goes to show that well coached teams can win regardless of the talent gap against the bigger guys.
3/4/2014 12:15:18 PM
Also that the unbalanced schedule sucks.UVa is, at best, third favorite to win ACC tourney to me. Slightly ahead of UNC.
3/4/2014 12:17:36 PM
yeah, Joe Giglio posted this on twitter a couple days ago. This is pretty telling:RPI of ACC schedules:19. WF31. State37. BC38. Mia39. FSU44. VT45. Md52. Pitt59. GT65. UNC70. Clem74. Duke77. ND99. Cuse116. UVa
3/4/2014 12:34:10 PM
well part of that is that you can't play yourself so the better teams are going to have a worse schedule simply because they can't play themselvesfor the most part it doesnt look that out of whack besides us and ND
3/4/2014 1:36:22 PM
3/4/2014 3:37:41 PM
Syracuse is one of the greatest teams we have ever seen in this conference, guys.
3/4/2014 7:52:09 PM
Am I the only one who thinks VT will be pretty damned good next year?11 of their 19 losses were by 7 points or fewer. I know a LOT of teams can say the same, but if a few bounces went their way or a little better FT shooting, they could be middle of the pack in conference[Edited on March 4, 2014 at 8:06 PM. 3/4/2014 7:59:53 PM
Didn't someone on here say that this Syracuse team was the best college basketball team in our lifetime?
3/4/2014 8:14:32 PM
To be fair, Grant hurt is huge... but elite teams don't do this. They are ripe for an early pickoff in March. Really hope we progress to face them and not any of the other top four teams.
3/4/2014 8:20:32 PM
Georgetown beating the shit out of Creighton
3/4/2014 8:31:12 PM
lol, i never noticed that south carolina's center court logo had metal spurs
3/4/2014 8:34:38 PM
at that point in the season syracuse was dominating. losing keita then big losing grant have been a lot for a shallow team. crazy to say we are criticizing a team that has lost 3 games all year.
3/4/2014 8:44:45 PM
Jesus Tech is awful. Bad shot after bad shot.
3/4/2014 8:48:29 PM
Glad Beilien was too much like Herb... no use for that here.
3/4/2014 9:02:34 PM
Syracuse peaked WAYYYY too early this year. They were great pre-ACC play and early ACC play but shit man.... home losses to BC and GT?
3/4/2014 9:09:45 PM
Carolina lost to Belmont
3/4/2014 9:12:14 PM
but that was well before their peak. hopefully their last minute comeback against ND was the beginning of their fall from their peak... but i'd probably bet that they'll be in the ACC semi-finals, at least.
3/4/2014 9:21:20 PM
3/4/2014 9:48:08 PM
i'd be shocked if the acc got less than 4 teams in the sweet 16.
3/5/2014 12:37:09 AM
considering that we're only getting 5 teams in, and UVA is wildly overrated...
3/5/2014 1:35:10 AM
a conference like the acc deserves to get more than a 3rd of its teams in. thats ridiculous (and possible)
3/5/2014 1:42:58 AM
the acc has been plagued by being top heavy for the last 10 years or so. the middle tier can't beat the top teams and loses too many games against the bottom tier to get in. and our nonconference record hasn't been great either. it seems the acc should get more in, but i can't really argue with what's being projected.
3/5/2014 2:08:10 AM
DukeUNCSyracuseUVaAre all locks. Honestly, if no one else from the ACC got in I wouldn't be shocked or upset. The other teams in the discussion are borderline at best. Pitt is probably the next one in and maybe, maybe Clemson if they win a couple in the tournament you can't even argue for anyone else. It's a pretty crap year for the ACC all in all.
3/5/2014 2:18:03 AM
3/5/2014 4:48:08 AM
^^ Pitt is def in.
3/5/2014 5:39:22 AM
Definitely? I'm not so sure. What have they done that makes them such a lock? Up until the last 2 weeks I think they probably were solidly in, but finishing the season 4-6 with a couple of not good losses (to us and to FSU) and ending up 1-6 vs. RPI top 50 (5-8 vs top 100) and having zero signature wins this year and an RPI of 53 doesn't help.I think they're probably in that last four in first four out range. It's certainly debatable, but they damn sure can't afford to lose to Clemson on Saturday.
3/5/2014 6:25:18 AM
No way Clemson gets in. Their rip is in the 70s. If we have no shot, they definitely have no shot
3/5/2014 7:38:54 AM
Clemson has a better shot then us as they've beaten us twice this year.
3/5/2014 7:51:28 AM
How does the tiebreaker work for ACCT seeding? If Duke and 'Cuse win this weekend, who gets the 2 seed? They split the season series, so does it move to the best ACC win (i.e. Duke beating UVA) or is it highest poll ranking (still Duke) or is it something else?[Edited on March 5, 2014 at 7:57 AM. 3/5/2014 7:56:42 AM
Pitt will probably get in but in one of those Team A vs B vs C comparison a they will have the worst blind resume. And will lose in the first round. It's what Dixon does.Earl may be right. I could see the top four make the Sweet 16. Though Cuse, on current form is ripe for a 3-14 upset.[Edited on March 5, 2014 at 7:59 AM. Reason : X]
3/5/2014 7:58:37 AM
Clemson should get in for beating state twice despite only playing us once. That's next level ballin'.
3/5/2014 8:41:58 AM
3/5/2014 8:49:27 AM
Thank you.I can't understand why earl is having so much trouble understanding that. No one was shitting on them saying they are terrible. Pomeroy numbers were never that of a truly dominating team. Now they are not even that of a real Final Four contender (O 33 / D 23). They don't dominate any one phase. It's actually a weird year. Florida is the only team that really excels at both phases. Duke has made strides defensively since early but still is no where close to great.[Edited on March 5, 2014 at 9:36 AM. Reason : Iphone typo]
3/5/2014 9:35:50 AM
We lost to this Wake team? Anyone lost to this Wake team?
3/5/2014 7:46:07 PM

3/5/2014 8:00:14 PM
Not sure why I bother but I'll rephrase.Florida is the only team in the top ten in both offensive and defensive efficiency.
3/5/2014 8:06:56 PM
Thats the problem with relying solely on stats like that and doing no qualitative analysis of the data. High offensive efficiency is misleading when you are not getting offensive rebounds. Without rebounds you have to be efficient or you don't score.
3/5/2014 8:30:01 PM
Bzzz going down fighting
3/5/2014 8:48:05 PM
florida is 25th in offense rebounding percentage[Edited on March 5, 2014 at 8:52 PM. Reason : why cant jabari parker lead his team to winzzzz?]

What the fuck was that? Did he kick Cavanaugh?
3/5/2014 8:58:57 PM
Someone make a gif out of that ridiculously obvious Sulaimon flop
3/5/2014 8:59:32 PM
duke obviously looking ahead to the superbowl. k never called a timeout on that crucial run. i don't think he minds playing unc after a loss. anything to avoid the sweep.
3/5/2014 9:00:49 PM
Well, with Wake winning and fucking things up, who do we face once we win our 1st game in the ACCT?
3/5/2014 9:01:53 PM
glad the refs didnt reward Suilamon the 2nd time he did that kick to the knee
3/5/2014 9:05:05 PM
So are we the only ACC team that hasn't beat Syracuse, Duke, or UNC?
3/5/2014 9:05:09 PM
Sulaimon being a dick...Duke now 7-7 away from Cameron.[Edited on March 5, 2014 at 9:07 PM. Reason : x]
