is packboozie really mad about us dropping TOB like a bad habit? Is it his contention that TOB would have done something with this squad this year (which is basically all TOB recruits) that Doeren didn't? Right, he probably would have lost more and run it straight up the middle every down more.
11/23/2013 10:36:15 PM
TOB would have lost to Richmond

Apparently aaronburro is not seeing the plays that Matt Canada is calling. We run up the middle until we are down 30 and then throw the ball and score.[Edited on November 23, 2013 at 10:47 PM. Reason : ^The schedule this year is one of the easiest in school history]
11/23/2013 10:44:02 PM
Seems like Doeren has given up on the season like most fans at this point. Hopefully a new QB helps next year. I hope he calls a little more throwing and not so many sweeps and gimmick running plays.
11/23/2013 11:39:48 PM
^^ and that was different from TOB's offensive game how? If anything, TOB did that MORE, which, if you'll read my previous post, is astonishingly exactly what I said. So, I ask you, again, what, exactly, do you think TOB would have done different that would have resulted in more wins? Punt the ball more often to a team's best kick returned in a tie game with a minute left in the game? Run the ball straight up the middle every play more often? Give 15 yard cushions on every single play?
11/24/2013 12:08:55 AM
^You're in a idiot, a fucking idiot.TOB didn't run up to the punter and say - "kick it to gio."
11/24/2013 12:10:48 AM
11/24/2013 12:13:05 AM
his failing was not running up to the punter and saying "for the love of cake, DO NOT kick it to gio"
11/24/2013 12:13:32 AM
TOB wasn't the answer and I don't believe Doeren is either. He doesn't have the "it" factor, he doesn't excite me. We need someone flashy, someone who can bring some energy to the program, someone who has inroads to the hotbed of Florida and can bring a pipeline of players......CTC[Edited on November 24, 2013 at 1:58 AM. chuck was herb. they were both the most successful of our lifetime and both had great defense.gott is tob with no defense but enough inherited talent to look ok for a little while. both sucked at the schools they were at before and surprise they both sucked here.we hoped sidney lowe was chuck but he wasn't
11/24/2013 3:17:15 AM
just cause Herb's teams didn't allow many points it doesn't mean they played good defense. It just means they wasted a lot of time on offense.
11/24/2013 9:49:04 AM
That's not really how teams lead the conference or nation in scoring defense, but whatever. If it wasn't good defense, then teams would have controlled the tempo and scored a lot more points. We weren't so good that our offensive rhythm determined the rhythm of every game.
11/24/2013 3:13:44 PM
When did a Herb team ever lead the nation in scoring defense? And when a team like UVA uses up 30 seconds on the shot clock every offensive possession before taking a shot, yes, it is a huge factor in how many points they allow per gameok apparently he did at ASU one year...i'll defer to ncstatetke on that one[Edited on November 24, 2013 at 3:19 PM. 11/24/2013 3:17:14 PM
lets just all agree that it was better defense than either coach after him.
11/24/2013 3:22:55 PM
11/24/2013 3:23:52 PM
that was because we had an nfl qb
11/24/2013 3:49:24 PM
Glennon/Wilson/Ryan didn't just magically become NFL QBs on their own while playing for TOB, discounting his hand in their development is myopic.
11/24/2013 3:59:04 PM
you're right. Wilson became one at Wisconsin, which is why he acted like a little bitch but then tried to blame it on TOB, cause he knew he would never get any airtime at NCSU.
11/24/2013 5:10:05 PM
Amato made rivers a great qb
11/24/2013 5:12:07 PM
Wilson's 300+ int-less streak was as a freshman. Glennon was the fifth ranked qb as a 17-18 year old behind ej manuel, terrelle pryor, andrew luck, and dayne crist, 3 of whom are nfl starters.. I don't know how much credit I'd give TOB, he certainly didn't make them worse

Dont know how anyone can discount TOB/Bible's QB development. Along with Wilson and Glennon he also had like 5 NFL QBs at BC.The problem is even with NFL QBs he could never win 10 games
11/25/2013 10:11:46 AM
11/25/2013 10:44:15 AM
they clearly didn't develop... anything else.i have the same criticism of DD, except so far i haven't seen -any- development.
11/25/2013 11:00:23 AM
were you expecting "development" in the first season of a first year coach? usually player development takes longer than a season
11/25/2013 11:03:48 AM
doeren got shadrach to stop fumblingthats pretty much it thoughthen again the best qb on our roster is a former cb playing wr
11/25/2013 11:09:17 AM
Lol we have had one 10-win season ever and it took 14 games to get there. Some of you act like we are a SEC school. Dick Sheridan, Lou Holtz, and Earle Edwards combined for 0 ten win seasons.[Edited on November 25, 2013 at 11:13 AM. Reason : ^,^^ We have not improved any as the year went on]

We're 6th in the acc in penalties unless I missed one of the new schools.. It's not that bad
11/25/2013 12:40:11 PM
I'll admit. They DID fix the issue where we couldn't even line up correctly. It took half the season, but I haven't heard that one in a while.
11/25/2013 12:43:08 PM
ok, so, up to now, the players have finally been coached up to where they are not doing something they shouldn't be doing to begin with. ok cool
11/25/2013 12:57:11 PM
hire rod carey
11/25/2013 1:09:59 PM
I know we're all looking back at the TOB era with rose-tinted glass now, but let's not forget this,
11/25/2013 1:25:06 PM
Two of these dudes wanna know which NFL team is starting them.
11/25/2013 1:48:35 PM
Who was TOB's strength and conditioning coach?I forgot about Beck's gut. That thing was epic.

DD gave a pretty good discussion today on the radio during his presser.Said we have no depth basically and because the offense is so inept, it made the defense look that much worse because they had to play so much after 3 and outs.He was really exciting about the redshirts and freshmen for next year coupled with the young guys this year.

I know I speak for the rest of us when I say that I think one ACC conference win would signify that we're ready to run the table in the SEC.

Mitchell and Thomas are honestly the worse quarterbacks I've seen this year in all college football, i challenge someone to prove me otherwise. With that being said i don't like the fact that DD is blaming the offense for his defensive struggles. In the first series of the ECU game they were moving the ball at will and scored early on the first drive I don't think their QB had a single incompletion. We do have a lack of depth but some of that rests on the coach not properly preparing the players.
11/26/2013 5:10:49 PM
Dave is gonna say whatever bullshit he has to pull out of his ass, because he knows he is on the hot seat after only one pathetic year.
11/26/2013 6:14:46 PM
Blaming the former coach in the first year is a solid move. Has he mentioned the wind being a factor too?
11/26/2013 6:45:14 PM
Nothing DD said from ^^^ is WRONG AT ALL.
11/26/2013 8:08:33 PM
^^^^I think the defense has taken a toll from the year and being on the field so much throughout the year
