we need another Linebacker. not next season, now.

No, it's not broken with Smitty playing Wideout, but it wasn't broken when he played the slot. He will get better matchups and be able to use his quickness and deceptiveness to make more plays. Hell, they can mix it up and let him play all over. Just looking to help Cam have more options. It has been said, we need a LB now, I so agree, just not sure who is out there we could afford to bring in without losing more. III

LB's are by far the least important third of good 4-3 defenses. It all starts up front, and then the secondary. In the passing league this has become, your nickel corner is more important than than your starting Sam linebacker. We need studs up front, and the rest will take care of itself. This season, since we don't have good DL or DBs, the losses of Beason and Davis are magnified. We're pretty much stuck until April and March when we can get some reinforcements.

i just feel a serviceable LB is much easier to find at this point than a lineman. Right now we are weak at all three levels, but I feel like the backfield is in the best shape. But unless we can get someone else in the middle to stop the run or break up plays behind the line they are going to be over exposed. I fully agree we are pretty much out of options until March, but there has to be a small move to make to get another body in there.

Jimmy Clausen to Broncos for Brandon Lloyd?
10/13/2011 4:03:57 PM
just did a twitter search for "clausen" here are the "top" results...must be by proximity because they're both the David Glenn Show's account:
10/13/2011 4:11:35 PM
Cecil Newton added to practice squad
10/13/2011 4:14:12 PM

Brandon Lloyd would be an awesome addition, but that trade is so lopsided it would never happen
10/13/2011 4:37:42 PM
Is that a three way trade or just two two way trades?
10/13/2011 4:42:42 PM
looks like it was just some dude saying what trades "should" happenhttp://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8230fc44/article/trading-winds-deals-that-should-get-done-before-deadline?module=HP11_cp

I read about that on a panthers forum yesterday and couldn't believe it was even being talked about. The Broncos making that trade would be the worst decision since the Bears traded Orton and 30 first day draft picks for Jay SulkfaceThey would lose their best receiver and a currently benched but still pretty decent QB and all they would get is JIMMY CLAUSEN?!

would anyone rather give up a 4th round pick over a 5th or 6th for anyone?
10/14/2011 8:55:55 AM
How bout trading Goodson for him? He's Fox's boy and he's not getting used here.

If we still had Sutton in the cellar somewhere I wouldn't be opposed to it, but heaven forbid an injury occur and we be a step away from a Jerome Felton backfield.
10/14/2011 10:07:10 AM
the "was it a good idea to re-sign Deangelo to a big contract" vibe is like the stock market
10/14/2011 10:12:25 AM
Even if he rushes for 1500 and 20 scores, it was still a bad decision.
10/14/2011 10:16:18 AM
thats quite the statement
10/14/2011 10:20:25 AM
dang Rebus
10/14/2011 10:52:53 AM
I'd love this if lloyd wasn't in the last yr of his contract, I don't think you can give up a high pick unless him signing a new contract is part of the tradeedit: just saw they mentioned a 4th or 5th round pick, I was expecting something higher, that might be worth it[Edited on October 14, 2011 at 12:24 PM. Conditional trade based on signing a new contract. 2 4th round picks if he does, 1 5th round pick if he doesn't.
