It’s much different being Speaker when the Senate and Executive is in the other party’s hands (see granny-killing Paul Ryan for most of Obama’s Presidency). Of course Dems will be more serious than the GOP ever was, but this does give them the opportunity to possibly pass some VERY ideological bills, get them into the political ecosystem for debate, and possibly even score some with the CBO. I’m very interested to see where she ends up falling on what to pass and what to deep six.

It's a House rule, it has no statutory force, and is easily waivable. I'm also old enough to remember a much more conservative Democratic majority led by Speaker Pelosi passed a bunch of bills that added to the federal budget deficit in 09/10. Then there's the pesky fact of the WH and Senate still being controlled by Republicans, so none of that^ legislation is passing in the next 2 years anyway.
