wow, he's in jail still? i can't believe his bail is still at $2M. that seems awfully high. and he can't come up with $300K with house and assets for a bondsman?damn[Edited on February 20, 2009 at 4:27 PM. Reason : ]
2/20/2009 4:25:20 PM
$2M
2/20/2009 4:26:08 PM
ah, yeah, i went back and looked. i'd have thought he'd get that reduced.is that a standard amount?
2/20/2009 4:28:01 PM
Usually there is no bond in murder cases.
2/20/2009 4:28:46 PM
that's not true. non-capital murder cases, bond can be quite low.
2/20/2009 4:33:42 PM
OK, find some FDM cases where you have a bond, and compare them to those that don't have bonds. There is an overwhelming difference. I am speaking for NC, also, but I am pretty sure its goes for most places. No bond for murder of the degree is pretty standard.
2/20/2009 4:35:18 PM
2/20/2009 4:46:03 PM
i believe he is in jail awaiting trial with no bond
2/20/2009 4:46:43 PM
dude is seriously getting railroaded.
2/23/2009 3:11:43 PM
Joe no matter what the standard says on paper, murder cases almost always have no bond.
2/23/2009 3:13:42 PM
im shocked that no lawyer can get that reduced

this guy's life is over. even if he's acquitted, he'll never get his life back together. makes me
2/23/2009 6:09:49 PM
Not if he's a fighter. It'll be hard but he can bounce back enough, if acquitted, to live a respectable life.
2/23/2009 6:11:43 PM
i'm just saying if he's acquitted, they likely won't arrest anyone else, so everyone will always wonder if he was really innocent or if he got away with murder. it'll ruin his life and follow him wherever he goes. not to mention the brainwashing that's likely been going on with his daughters. if he ever got them back, they're liable to hate him.
2/23/2009 6:15:32 PM
i agree, even acquitted his life will never be the same. good luck even trying to get a comparable job. everyone will remember his as "that guy"however... i think he done did it.
2/23/2009 6:28:32 PM
oh yea, he guilty
2/23/2009 6:29:32 PM
^You don't know that yet. I still say its possible he didn't do it, although I am not going to be naive about it, the finger points dead at him.
2/23/2009 6:30:28 PM
but three fingers point back at you
2/23/2009 6:36:25 PM
That's the old saying. I was going to say that, but I didn't think to many of these young'ins would get it.

wonder what's in the BlackBerry? perhaps proof she was a cheater?http://www.wral.com/news/news_briefs/story/5284656/

probably just proof that she did call him that morning like he said. i still don't think he did it
6/5/2009 9:08:35 AM
i was all about some Brad Cooper Guilt in the beginning, and now i'm not so sure.
6/5/2009 9:09:22 AM
anything more on this?
9/1/2009 3:16:40 PM
what's the latest?
5/7/2010 3:45:07 PM
http://www.wral.com/news/local/page/3226575/?navkeyword=brad+cooperThe only real update I see is that October 25th is his court date, set back in December. Why's it take so long to get this shit going?
5/7/2010 3:54:52 PM
i still think there's no chance he didn't do it

It's taking so long because the discovery process is so overwhelming. There are still hundreds of pages of missing documents that the defense deserves to have before trial.

Opening statements started today, with the state (prosecutor) doing their opening statement before court ended for the day.http://www.wral.com/specialreports/nancycooper/story/9244241/

if the glove dont fit, must acquit!
3/10/2011 12:43:19 PM
so apparently, so far there's no real evidence linking Brad Cooper to the death of his wife. Just hearsay and theories by detectives with no evidence backing up their claims.
3/24/2011 12:46:32 PM
Doesn't surprise me. Cary police might as well patrol Mayberry.
3/24/2011 12:52:59 PM
lol. that story about the Hispanic men turning around to follow her sounds like such bullshit.I still think he's guilty as shit but wouldn't be surprised if he gets off for lack of evidence
3/24/2011 12:54:55 PM
There's no way he should be convicted. Cary Police have really fucked up this case-- it's completely riddled with reasonable doubt. Everything the prosecution has brought to the table has been hearsay, not one shred of real evidence.
3/24/2011 1:07:01 PM
The jury pool aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the world. if the prosecution is persuasive enough, they might convict. it's happened all over America for as long as we've had a jury system.

I think you should really reevaluate your conclusion. Any runner has more than one pair of shoes and will wear separate pairs based on factors ranging from matching to preventing overuse to weather. A shopaholic-housewife-runner definitely has more than one pairs of shoes.Secondly, she was in a sports bra. Who wears a sports bra to a dinner party? To me, that sounds like she was running, to me.As for the conclusion from the neighbor that Brad was intentionally trying to undermine her memory, that is highly unlikely. I rarely could tell you what color shirt my girlfriend wore the day/night before, especially if I had drinks. Hell, I couldn't tell you if she wore a blouse or a dress. The fact that he got even one color and the type right its pretty amazing to me.Honestly, I don't know if he did it or not, but, as a citizen, I could in no way convict this guy based on the inadequate evidence presented by the prosecuting attorneys. I find the overwhelming nature of those in this thread to convict the man, without any real evidence, to be a fine representation of what is wrong with our legal system.
3/24/2011 4:47:27 PM
maybe she got a new pair of running shoes and was using them, who knows? maybe she had more than one pair of those same shoes?
