Bowden firing is already starting to affect their recruiting class. Holloman is gone as well as Loston. Tajh Boyd also decommitted from WVU, so I guess it tis the season.

Kyle Koehne to Florida

Yeah word was if they offered him, Koehne would commit to Florida. I never thought we had a shot with him.

Jerrod Askew committed to Tennessee a few days ago.

It's great to hear recruits talk so positively about our coaching staff. They are really building a good atmosphere here.
10/14/2008 10:02:03 AM
^ and ^^ you have to read the whole article. Dude talks about 10 schools, and if you read the other nine we sound like an afterthought. Not a big deal, but this dude is not going to be wearing red and white any time soon. Its a funny article though, he gives shoutouts, talks about miami being his team on madden, and a bunch of other funny shit. he is definitely a talker!!!

Yeah Montgomery makes it sound like we're only included because we were the first to offer. We probably won't survive his first cut. But this isn't a TOB type of kid, he seems to be enjoying the spotlight and media way too much.

Sam Jones is now a member of the Wolfpack once again, he's fully qualified and will be enrolling in January.
10/16/2008 10:41:04 AM
Hot damn. Give us a few years, and we could have the best Oline in the league with Mattes, Wallace, Jones, Good, Allen, and (gulp) Nixon.[Edited on October 16, 2008 at 10:59 AM. Reason : ]

He's gained around 40 pounds over the last year. He's at a good size to play now

Video interview with Jheranie Boyd. He will be making his decision on Nov. 7th. He mentions that he got to hang out with Glennon and some others and that those are the type of guys that he likes to hang out with. It also shows two of our coaches (I think McCollum and Reed) watching his games, along with some other coaches from Clemson and another school.http://www.rivals.com/video.asp?section=fbrecruit&pkey=&vidtype=amp&vidid=3622

Appears Clemson is out for Boyd. My guess is either OU or UNC.
10/22/2008 8:13:38 PM
I don't understand why all the top wrs just don't go to texas tech?
10/22/2008 9:13:11 PM
maybe because Leach will bolt after this year or next
10/22/2008 9:17:04 PM
Also you have to factor in that Texas Tech doesn't run an offense that NFL teams run. A lot of elite level WRs want to go to schools that have offenses that will prepare them for what they will see in the NFL.
10/22/2008 9:19:49 PM
^^^ youve never been to West Texas ...its not for everyone. Lubbock is ok but its an aquired taste

A new prospect to the list Antwon Higgs has an official visit for State set for 11/28/08. Higgs is Scout's #38 SLB nationally and Rivals' #35 weakside DE. Both have him as a 3* prospect. He has South Carolina listed as "High Interest" and will be visiting Columbia on 11/7/08. 3* ATH/S Jairus Jones from Tampa, FL has popped up on the prospect list and it looks like we are one of the schools on his list that receives a visit. His father James Jones was a running back at Florida and later in the NFL with the Detroit Lions. Surprisingly though the Gators have not offered and now lists them as "Low Interest" even though one recent article from earlier in the month said he was hoping for an offer from them. Currently he has 4 visits in mind and only has LSU, Michigan State, Nebraska, and NC State listed as "Medium Interest". Scout ranks him as the #80 safety nationally while Rivals lists him as the #64 athlete nationally. ESPN ranks him as the #39 safety nationally.AthleteTampa (FL) WhartonHt: 6-foot-2Wt: 210 lbs40: 4.6 sec.Schools Interested (known offers in italics)LSUMichigan StateNebraskaN.C. 10/29/2008 1:47:34 PM
^^ Man I hope he does not chose UNC. I doubt we land him either, but please God don't let the Tarholes land him.
10/29/2008 2:26:57 PM
Sorry, but he even sounds like a UNC player.
10/29/2008 2:48:54 PM
i think oklahoma and mizzou are his one and two
10/29/2008 3:02:26 PM
^^I've noticed that too. UNC players just seem to have UNC names for the most part. Sure we have a few (Shea McKeen, Audi Augustin), but it's weird how you can usually read a guys name and know whether he plays for state or carolina. Examples include:Hakeem Nicks, Brooks Foster, Quan Sturdivant, Cooter Arnold, Richie Rich, Shaun Draughn, Ray Ray Davis, AJ Blue, etc etc etc
10/29/2008 4:52:42 PM
^I'm pretty sure I'd never let anyone call me Cooter, horrible name.
