Why must the Navy make everything as complicated as possible?
4/26/2011 9:13:36 PM
as with any govt agency, it's folks making things overly complicated in order to justify their job
4/26/2011 9:18:16 PM
the long wait is over.since august, it's been inspection preps, inspections, certs, etc. inport day was 0600 to 1900/2000. finally back from deployment cert exercise. check out on the last day of pre-deployment leave.then it's West Coast Navy for this sailor!

Are all Navy wives insane or is it a regional thing?
7/3/2011 4:54:12 PM
yeah, when the husband gets deployed they go to the bars to get a replacement in bed....
7/3/2011 4:55:49 PM
^^the insane ones tend to be the local girls who sink their claws into a serviceman (at least that's the impression I've gotten from my observations)
7/3/2011 4:59:12 PM
Holy shit, how the Hell have you been, man?
7/3/2011 5:07:54 PM
My Sailor left Norfolk on his days off for just that reason. He said the Naviho's and local girls were skanky! He's always said you knew when squadrons got depoloyed, because all the bars filled up with women, all with tan lines on their ring fingers.
7/3/2011 5:21:01 PM
ahahahahahaha
7/3/2011 5:43:40 PM
^^Yea, I hear Pensecola, FL and Jacksonville, NC are the worst for local girls. Mayport, FL was worse when the carriers where stationed there, I've heard.^That first tour was rough, man. But I'm glad I've got it behind me. Learned a lot, made some mistakes, saw leadership good and bad. I'm going from one of the oldest ships in the Navy to the newest. In school right now for my next tour.
7/3/2011 6:15:00 PM
Which ships are those? What do they do? Do you remember when you locked yourself in your dorm room your first semester?
7/3/2011 6:16:46 PM
^It was my roommate I locked out while he was in the shower [Edited on July 3, 2011 at 6:18 PM. Reason : Was on USS Samuel B Roberts (FFG 58). Going to a pre-commission.]
7/3/2011 6:17:23 PM
Why does the Navy use terms such as "aquaflage"?!!?
7/19/2011 3:21:36 PM
7/19/2011 3:24:47 PM
haha oh man how did i miss this? haET1(SW) FairclothNRMD/IMF BangorNuclear Maintenance TechPreviously aboard USS Harry S Truman (2006-2011) RC Div

OH God I bet you're going to an LPD precom aren't you
7/19/2011 5:08:27 PM

7/19/2011 7:19:48 PM
me? no...shoreduty working on SSBNs, SSGNs, and the SSN21, 22, *23*its a pretty chill shore duty...i dont miss the boat at all.[Edited on July 19, 2011 at 7:21 PM. Reason : yea]
7/19/2011 7:20:36 PM
whats a poopdeck?
7/19/2011 7:24:05 PM
On sailing ships, the poop deck was the deck over the stern deckhouse (where the captain's cabin was). Usually where the helm (and thus the officer of the deck) were stationed. As being on top of a superstructure, it gave a height advantage over the rest of the main deck. As it was the officer of the deck's watchstation, it would need to look good all the time (swab the poop deck...)Poop deck comes from the Latin word for it, puppis.
7/19/2011 7:33:58 PM
For the Force Protection types.]
7/20/2011 7:12:40 PM
So, are sailors allowed to post things like "XX days left of this deployment"? It seems rather...awkward to be so explicit with times for ship movement.
9/18/2011 10:33:27 AM
is it true that being on a ship for a long time turns you gay
9/18/2011 11:06:22 AM
my instructors have told me "it ain't gay if it's underway"
9/18/2011 1:39:49 PM
^^^Loose lips sink ships and all thatpoor OPSEC but there are a lot of dumb people on facebook
9/18/2011 1:55:03 PM
Are you going for 20?
9/18/2011 2:00:43 PM
Why do CA bases require smog testing for vehicles to be registered on base when they are not registered in CA? Also, if they are going to require this, why don't they list it on the website/signs at pass and decal!?!?
10/23/2011 11:23:30 AM
if given a choice, is there any reason i should not go fast attack?
10/23/2011 6:22:23 PM
don't be a wuss. it ain't called fast attack tough for nothing.
10/23/2011 8:07:03 PM
^^well, you've already decided on subs; i would have gone fast attack if I had been selected for Nuke
10/24/2011 6:49:40 PM
do you want to hit ports? thats enough to decide.
10/25/2011 9:53:54 PM
^
10/25/2011 10:08:30 PM
11/3/2011 8:38:21 PM
I was told that GN's get the port hitting of fast attacks but the rotation schedule of BN's. i'd probably end up on an 88, so is there anything not to like about them?
11/4/2011 12:03:53 AM
Besides the fact that many of them are approaching 25+ years of service (and all the problems therein), no, if it's what you want.
11/6/2011 5:39:05 PM
Do you think NAVY will beat ARMY again this year?? Thoughts??
11/6/2011 7:14:50 PM
Of course. I wish I could have seen earlier, better slugged out Games like back in the day (30s and 40s)
11/6/2011 9:08:58 PM
After ECU put a hurt on NAVY it got me worried, but ARMY isn't doing so hot either. It should be a fun game to watch just for the tradition if nothing else
11/6/2011 9:39:36 PM
11/7/2011 11:39:25 AM
you could just go CVN and enjoy life.
11/7/2011 8:04:54 PM
yea, get to host basketball games and shit
11/12/2011 11:14:17 AM
11/12/2011 11:26:48 AM
lol.
11/29/2011 8:19:04 PM
Is a fusion of two lumbar vertebrae submarine disqualifying?Stay tuned for the answer.Surgery is tomorrow.
11/30/2011 12:11:23 AM
11/30/2011 4:57:36 AM
^^My gut says yes. How did the surgery go, though?
12/3/2011 10:05:15 PM
Would you believe I got pink eye two days before surgery and the Doc said he won't do it with any infection?FMLThey gave me a week to get it cleared up. It's now the 8th.
