^^^ How the fuck did Bowens NOT get flagged for that?
9/2/2007 10:59:39 PM
hah. I wonder what that was about.

some pervert in the front row has pretty good aim...

Some of you are getting retarded with how you are reacting. Jumping off the bus and what not. You either haven't been following the Pack long enough, or are just terrible fans. It was the first game of a new coaching staff. You've got to spot them a mulligan. A lot of new coaching staffs and their players need to adjust to each other in their first game together. Same goes for this group. I'm just as disappointed as the rest of you that we lost, especially to a non-BCS team. But there is hope. Beck looked pretty sharp and should help open up the running game for Andre and Jamelle. The coaching staff actually made adjustments and it nearly resulted in us coming back and winning it. Tom O'Brien is a very good coach. The things said by other coaches and the media about him taking mediocre talent and being able to consistently beat teams with greater talent isn't something that was a myth. It's a fact. Once he gets his players in here, and has also gotten the current players used to his way of doing things, then we should get some great results. The best part is that those results will most likely be consistent ones, and we will have very few down years if any during his tenure. I'm excited for the future, and believe that this year will show improvement over last year. We still have a chance to have a great season and go bowling.Remember most teams show the most improvement between the first and second games. So who knows, we may actually beat BC. We've beaten teams when we were the underdogs plenty of times before, in fact we beat them just last year when they were ranked in the Top 25. Who's to say that we can't do it again, especially with a coaching staff that knows their former players' tendencies and abilities. I'll be in Boston this upcoming weekend. I hope to see some other hardcore Pack fans on the Green Line on Saturday. Now where's ncsuftw1 with the BC game thread? I want to move on past this weekend.

I am not sure where I stand on the game....but let's not do like Michigan and not give the other team any credit. UCF is a decent football team and I said in predictions that we would win closely because they are a well-coached team. O'Leary was a very good coach at Georgia Tech and that team is not nearly as bad as some of you make them out to be. They will compete in the CUSA, same conference as Southern Miss, ECU, others. They are not a nobody.

that 80 yard td run was worse than hester taking back the opening kickoff 3 years agobut other than that, i'll start to make judgements after the BC game
9/3/2007 12:27:58 AM
Devin Hester also just ran back the opening kick in the super bowl so I don't really fee so bad about that one.
9/3/2007 12:30:54 AM
Hmmm just read in the September Wolfpacker that Mike Greco is at UCF now and was probably going to be the backup and competing for playing time. Guy had talent no doubt. [Edited on September 3, 2007 at 12:41 AM. Reason : No but he was fun to run the option with on NCAA because he was like 82 speed ]

please, there is absolutely no need to bring up that namehe was never going to be anything here, period.
9/3/2007 12:34:55 AM
Darin Baldwin committed to NC State in 06 and never made it to school because of grades. He now plays for UCF. He was the one that didnt get the pass interference called on him in the endzone against dunlap right before Bowens pwned that dude. Not to bring up the non-qualifier argument, but its worth considering since UCF actually has some talent on their team. Its the same type of shit that ECU pulls.

I am not jumping off the bus but having prime view seats in North Section to see FCU score a TD on the first play from scrimmage, get a field goal, have Daniel Evans get a safety, followed by another field goal from FCUand a TD was about all i could take. I bounced at halftime[Edited on September 4, 2007 at 12:19 PM. Reason : l]

^ Agreed. I'm sure he left early from the BC game last year too I remember turning to my brother in the 2nd quarter and saying "I don't leave early. Ever." Real fans ride out bad games when bandwagon fans are packing up to beat the traffic. That and calling a game "over" when down only three score at the half is fucking lame...
9/4/2007 1:31:26 PM
What is worse . . . someone leaving real early in the game because we are losing big (halftime for example) or someone who always leaves with 3-5 minutes on the clock (doesn't matter if we are winning or losing, or the game is close or a blow out) to "beat the traffic"
9/4/2007 1:51:47 PM
both are equally gay
9/4/2007 1:56:19 PM
I don't think I've left a game early. That clemson game 2 years ago where we got molested made me want to bang my head against the wall though. And they should make freshmen take a cheering class. First lesson would be how to not clap offbeat during the damn fight song.[Edited on September 4, 2007 at 2:03 PM. Reason : ]

Anyone else noticed that CB #14 Neal was getting burned like crazy the entire game? He was god awful.
9/4/2007 2:21:20 PM
haha, i left at halftime so i could drink with my lady friend in the Vaughn Towers lot.we watched the rest of the game on the scoreboard and listened to it the radio.we got free tix to this game and i didnt know section 6 was considered "visitors"we were right there with the students and boy were you guys rowdy.
9/4/2007 2:34:58 PM
Jimmie Sutton got torched quite a few times also. Good thing their QB either overthrew them or the receivers developed butterfingers. Section 6 is the SWPC isn't it?
9/4/2007 2:39:55 PM
hahaha, gunzz - i hear ya, i left at the half too to go drinkin, was much better than the game!

From the little I remember of Neal in the past, he was a pretty damn good player. I think he was the top recruit coming out of SC a couple years ago. The coaching staff seems to be on his side too. This is from an interview gopack did with Mike Archer (d coordinator). He's talking about the position battles heading into the first game of the year.

9/4/2007 3:57:49 PM
^ yes and has been since the creation of timeand it still wasn't "full" throughout.
9/4/2007 4:02:06 PM
Not sure which Neal this guy is, but #14 was getting BURNED TO SHIT the entire game. Sutton was too later in the 2nd half, but instead he was mangling receivers and getting pass int. calls.I just was awfully dissapointed in our backfield as a whole. We were chasing receivers all night and if it wasnt for the fact that their QB sucked, we woulda been down at least 2 more touchdowns.
9/4/2007 4:02:24 PM
Oh, and I thought CF Section 15 was faculty? Thats' why it's always empty?....
9/4/2007 4:03:50 PM
no. 14 = JC Neal. I think he's a sophomore, and I think this is his first year at CB (he's still listed as a safety). I'm just going to pray that his shitty performance was a aberration -- opposed to Jimmy Sutton, who's never really lived up to his hype.[Edited on September 4, 2007 at 4:07 PM. Reason : ]
