let me help you out...the new wireless guitar and new drumset could be available on saturday but i spoke to a few stores and if they are receiving any, it wasn't much
9/11/2008 9:52:59 AM
Oh nice. For some reason I thought I heard the full package release was later. Thanks.
9/11/2008 10:59:58 AM
full package is later...but drums and guitars by themselves are SUPPOSED to be out sunday, but we'll see
9/11/2008 11:12:01 AM
Ooooh OK. I understand now. Thanks.

9/13/2008 9:37:28 PM
is the rb2 package going to be cheaper than game+drum+guitar, you think?watching ibiteprettyhard's rockband2 livestream: http://www.socialgamer.net/sp/ibiteprettyhard/yeah, i have nothing better to do at the moment.
9/14/2008 12:52:19 AM
let the good times roll
9/14/2008 1:20:48 AM
livestream frozenlooks like $190 package in a month, $60 game, $70 guitar, $90 drums, $30 cymbal packhttp://www.gamestop.com/browse/search.aspx?N=0&Ntk=TitleKeyword&PerPage=50&Ntt=rock+band&Ntx=mode+matchallpartialim prbly getting the cymbal pack, but not the double bass pedal if it comes. unless they add slayer
9/14/2008 1:57:20 AM
the full package for $189 does not have the cymbal pack...those are optional from madcatz i believeit is cheaper buying it in the bundle but the mic is the same as rb1, guitar is supposedly a little better but we still just use gh3 guitars...best ones...so i might get the new drum set btw, we're having problems calibrating it correctly, rb1 was spot on, we cant get it right yet
9/14/2008 9:15:46 AM
saw the new bass at Best Buy in South Point today. It looks pretty sick, and was heavier than I expected.
9/14/2008 5:19:10 PM
Just got finished playing my first go around and a few things I've noticed:1) Hammer ons and pull offs are easier to perform. I never really got the hang of them on the first one (although I was always able to on Guitar Hero), but now I have it down.2) They really skipped out on new content in terms of clothes/instruments/etc. Lots of the stuff is the exact same as in RB1. The main reason I got the game was for additional songs though, so I'm not complaining.3) It would be nice if I could differentiate between the RB1 and RB2 songs when I select a mystery set list. It sucks when you get the new game and you select the mystery set and end up getting a bunch of songs you've already played a thousand times.[Edited on September 14, 2008 at 8:46 PM. Reason : ]

Things I love:-They finally fixed character profiles. Being able to switch instruments is great.-The song list is amazing. They also made the list easier to navigate/organize.-The music video backgrounds look awesome.-No fail mode and playlists sound great for parties.

waiting til october for the bundlehavent ventured out to best buy yet, is there a demo drumset? i want to see if i like the rebound any better. if not, i might pick up the silencer pads and see if that helps.
9/14/2008 10:55:51 PM
I'm just happy you can finally play all of Dolittle in the right order back to back. That in itself is easily worth the $5 transfer fee.Did anyone else pay the money to transfer the songs from RB1? I guess should I ask did anyone else NOT do that?
9/14/2008 11:14:53 PM
Yeah, I transferred the songs. I like the fact that it throws them into the random events in WT, I think it will add to the replay value (instead of just playing Quickplay all the time.)My songlist is HUGE now, and it's only going to get bigger when the Foo Fighters and the Chili Peppers albums come out. Also, for those that don't know yet, when you buy the game the instruction manual has a code on the back that will let you download a 20 song pack in the future (no details yet on when it will come out, but still a nice perk.)
9/14/2008 11:40:46 PM
^I didn't see that bonus tracks thing on the back, thanks for the heads up.
9/15/2008 12:16:42 AM
I just got all the songs in RB2 unlocked. That pushed my total songlist to over 300 songs now.
9/15/2008 5:47:43 PM
is all the old DLC free?
9/15/2008 6:03:49 PM
^ nah
9/15/2008 6:17:45 PM
I still would like to know if the bleeding DLC will finally be available for rock band 2 Wii, Harmonix is a huge homer for gimping the wii version of 1 so badly. The only info i can find is a poor assumption made by some editor at wired magazine or something, no official statements from Harmonix. With GH4 offering DLC and compatibility with RB instruments, if RB2 doesn't get there shit together I'm jumping ship, as much as I don't want to...[Edited on September 15, 2008 at 6:35 PM. 9/15/2008 6:35:18 PM
^^^ It never will be either
9/15/2008 7:20:48 PM
^^The wii version will have DLC. http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/06/rock-band-2-for-wii-wont-skimp-on-features/[Edited on September 15, 2008 at 8:50 PM. Reason : I guess that article references the wired article you talked about. eh. if Guitar Hero can do it...]
9/15/2008 8:46:28 PM
is painkiller on guitar the GGAHT of rb2? it's the last one i have to do in the impossible tier on expert.
9/15/2008 11:13:32 PM
Hahaha so I was browsing through the clothes/accessories, and one of the shirts in the thrift store section is called "Brokeback Jacket" because it obviously looks like the jacket that Heath Ledger wears in Brokeback Mountain. Under the description, it says "This jacket wishes that it could quit you"[Edited on September 15, 2008 at 11:38 PM. Reason : ]

got all the songs available to play, just gotta beat them in bwt so that they are in the quickplay list...so far favorites...drums - everlongguitar - batterysinging - livin on a prayerbtw, i got the new drumset from gamestop; its definitely better than the original for those of you that can't decide if you should upgrade or not...[Edited on September 16, 2008 at 9:58 AM. 9/16/2008 9:58:01 AM
damn yall are making me want this game...but the instruments in GH just look like theyre better...plus GH:WT has "And The Wind Cries Mary"ahd me at hello**Dumb question prolly but not reading the past 20 odd pages....but the GH instruments work with Rock Band 1/2 wont they? Gonna have to rent RB1 and buy RB2.....I miss me music games
9/16/2008 10:44:58 AM
both the games instruments are all compatible as far as rb2 goes...drums are atleastthere's a chart out there comparing everything, google it
9/16/2008 12:14:31 PM
Wait, so is the Wii version of RB2 gonna have DLC? I couldn't really tell if that linked article is BS. I've got RB1 on the PS2 and really miss the DLC, so if I can get it on the Wii I'll buy it for that version, instruments and all.
9/16/2008 1:01:59 PM
^nobody really knows, that's the problem
9/16/2008 2:00:43 PM
FYI, Blockbuster is offering $32 trade in on Rock Band 1. I just picked up the 360 version of RB2 for half off
9/16/2008 2:26:43 PM
i HATE the guitar hero guitar controllers after using the rock band ones...the flush buttons are sooooo much better for not runsi do wish the solo buttons were a little further up the neck thou
9/16/2008 3:53:05 PM
^I'm the opposite. I hate Rock Band guitars and love Guitar Hero ones.
9/16/2008 4:28:02 PM
yeah, I can never tell what buttons my fingers are on with the strat.at least the new ones apparently are quieter and actually let you know when you're strumming
9/16/2008 4:45:14 PM
9/16/2008 6:06:33 PM
I'm pissed that this game came out first on the 360, although I think I'd rather buy another bundled set and get the new drum set and the wireless microphone with controls already on it.
9/16/2008 8:12:33 PM
Anybody else like Shackler's Revenge? At first I thought it was just ok, but it is so much fun to sing that it grew on me immensely.
9/16/2008 9:55:36 PM
9/16/2008 10:09:55 PM
pretty sure the mic is the exact same basically, still wired.i dont like the gnr song, its not rock n roll like real gnr, its weak new age metal type attempt
9/17/2008 9:28:08 AM
hmm, I thought I saw posters for a wireless microphone with the buttons already on the microphone itself this week at Gamestop. It was for a 360, but I assumed they would do the same for the PS3.
9/17/2008 3:54:44 PM
you thought wrong, dude
9/17/2008 4:19:41 PM
RUN SQUIRREL
9/17/2008 4:27:54 PM
'neekay'... what is that? some sort of injun talk or somethin?
9/17/2008 4:56:39 PM
Mad Catz, but it doesn't look wireless.
9/17/2008 7:18:56 PM
Glad to see a button-lock switch at the bottom to prevent accidental pausing.
