Yeah I wouldn't mind SilasI always felt he got a raw deal in Charlotte then in Cleveland
4/26/2008 1:50:00 PM
Silas should get the nod, just because he called Carlos Boozer a cunt. Yes he did.
4/26/2008 5:10:52 PM
i think its almost certain it will be Brown
4/26/2008 5:14:56 PM
Larry Brown FTW.
4/26/2008 5:29:53 PM
they'd be retarded to hire Brown
4/26/2008 5:47:25 PM
He took the Clippers to the playoffs. Enough said.

Rick fucking Carlisle is also the one I want....they should have hired him last year.I know he wants to coach and not announce games....call him Jordan.
4/28/2008 1:22:10 AM
Looks like Brown will be the next Bobcats coach.. big surprisehttp://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3373007
4/29/2008 1:03:23 AM
Ohh boy after 2 more years of 32-50 we get to find another coach!Hopefully by that time Jordan will be out....
4/29/2008 1:24:31 AM
Considering that in 27 years of coaching Larry Brown has NEVER had back-to-back losing seasons with any team he coached, somehow I doubt we're looking at 30-win seasons over the next 2 years.

Press Conference now on News 14 and ESPNews[Edited on April 29, 2008 at 1:03 PM. Reason : .]

Old content, but from Bill Simmons' links column:http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/links/080429
4/29/2008 4:32:31 PM
yeah that shit johnson was asking for a couple weeks ago did not sit well with me and many other charlotteans...its probably my last straw in not renewing my season tix (that and the enormous price tag)]
4/29/2008 4:39:30 PM
^^damn sorenson tore that article up .hate to say it but i agree with every word
4/29/2008 4:58:04 PM
Should've waitedI'd much rather have Avery Johnson or D'antoni than fucking Larry Brown
4/30/2008 4:09:24 PM
I dunno...SUPPOSEDLY since Brown is 67 years old, he envisions himself retiring here...that the last 2 years of being out of the game made him miss it...also his 102 year old mom lives in CharlotteI'm not keeping my fingers crossed but it might work out
4/30/2008 4:10:33 PM
the good thing about brown is he brings instant credibility...there's little doubt he'll turn the team around in either 1 or 2 years. even if he retires or bolts for greener pasture, we'll be a better team afterward. it may not be the long term solution, but its a definite improvement from where we've been since inception.
4/30/2008 5:13:52 PM
This hire is exactly what this franchise needed: a dose of legitimacy. Now all we need is a SUPERSTAR.
4/30/2008 5:20:17 PM
i wish i could stop playing the "what if bickerstaff had coached one more year" game...its utterly depressing
4/30/2008 5:21:51 PM
what are our odds of winning the Draft Lottery? I want ROSE.
4/30/2008 5:24:14 PM
Larry Brown is so old he actually coached his new assistant Mike Sanders at UCLA- ~30 years ago.
4/30/2008 5:34:07 PM
^^Beasley would help this team out more than Rose. I swear, I'm not completely sold on that guy. I think his lack of a consistent jump shot is really going to hurt him in the pros. That being said, I don't think the Bobcats have much of a chance at landing one of the top two picks. Hopefully Lopez will be there when they pick. This team needs some depth down low.
4/30/2008 6:04:17 PM
While I agree that the 'Cats need a solid 4/5 guy, Beasley is not that guy, imo. Hopefully we can get someone in free agency. As far as Rose's jumper...that can be tweaked/overhauled. Look at guys like Tony Parker. TP is a pretty badass player even w/o a consistent jumper.
4/30/2008 7:48:22 PM
i want the them to get beasley if the opportunity is therejust once i want a team i follow to get a superstar in the draft (and keep them...:KOBE:, though i know that trade was probably forced)
4/30/2008 8:12:31 PM
uh, we have Emeka Okafor, genius
4/30/2008 8:17:45 PM
Okafor is definitely starter material, but not someone you build your team around. if you can't see that, then it's time to take off the blinders old Bobby J. sent you.
4/30/2008 8:23:33 PM
yea, he's a superstar..... havent heard his name since devlin left
4/30/2008 8:27:02 PM
Okafor is probably the best big man in the East in the last 10 years
4/30/2008 11:53:36 PM
they're running some ladycats photo tournament on bobcats.com over the next week or so$1,000,000 says this picture wins
5/5/2008 1:21:55 PM
Bickerstaff is reportedly leaving the organizationgood for him
5/8/2008 12:25:56 PM
pick #9lame
5/20/2008 8:22:50 PM
this scks
5/20/2008 8:55:15 PM
Any guesses? I'm calling Kevin Love. Yeah, he's got some flaws, but the bobcats need a big man who can rebound and shoot.
5/20/2008 10:09:09 PM
thats who i kinda thought of before they even announced we had #9
5/20/2008 10:13:42 PM
come on, do they really need another out of shape tweener with bad knees?
5/20/2008 10:37:08 PM
im not sayin who i wantbut who i think they'll get
5/20/2008 10:39:46 PM
We do not need Kevin Love.
5/20/2008 10:44:11 PM
Well they don't need anymore shooters/slashers or any more PGs (although I wouldn't mind Augustine). They need a big man, and unless they trade up for Lopez, Love is the best one left. Hopefully it'll force them to part ways with May.Some will be yelling for Jordan from Texas A&M, but having seen him play, he's got a LONG way to go. Love absolutely abused him in the tournament as well.
5/20/2008 10:55:27 PM
i'm still hoping may can come back and be productive. he's pretty good when healthy, but bone on bone in his knees doesn't sounds too promising
5/20/2008 11:00:23 PM
True center or PG please.[Edited on May 21, 2008 at 12:44 AM. Reason : .]
5/21/2008 12:39:44 AM
Dammit another year when we COULD have gotten a Derrick Rose or O.J. Mayo but instead we will have to settle for gasp Ty Lawson or a Russell Westbrook knowing our team.[Edited on May 21, 2008 at 1:20 AM. Reason : NBAdraft.net has us taking Darrell Arthur at 9 and Courtney Lee at 38]
5/21/2008 1:19:27 AM
No way they pick Lawson at #9 -- possibly Westbrook, but we don't really need another wing. Those wanting a true center, who would you recommend at the 9 spot? Unless we trade up, Lopez won't be an option (the good one at least). Jordan is as raw as they come. I don't see what's wrong with leaving Okafor at C and bringing in a skilled PF.Also, I like Felton, but the chance to get Augustin might be too great to pass up.
5/21/2008 11:05:47 AM
the Bobcats really need to make some moves and trade up, but what/who would make that puzzle work?
5/21/2008 4:59:56 PM
When they picked May, he had just been named the MVP of the NCAA tournament by absolutely dominating anyone he matched up with. Believe it or not, most experts had him pegged in the middle of the first round, some in the top 10 picks. While I didn't like the pick, I wouldn't call it a reach.Calling it a mistake now is easy. Hindsight 20/20.
5/21/2008 6:53:30 PM
he's looked really good when he's been able to play. definitely worthy of the pick. unfortunately, he's the dan morgan of the charlotte bobcats.
