^Ah, I knew it. You are the Ron Paul blimp!
12/24/2007 4:12:33 PM
And you are the Original Jackass. At least it answers my question of "Who in the world would actually support jackass pols like Romney?" The answer is, apparently, internet crypto-fascists like you.Quickly, now - Little Green Footballs needs you!
12/24/2007 4:16:51 PM
12/24/2007 5:14:06 PM
^^Crypto-fascist? What, did you just discover the Gore v. Buckley debates last night and you picked up a cute new term? You're so obviously transparent.HUR: I don't care what you think.
12/24/2007 6:48:52 PM
Nobody cares what you think either, you fascist piece of shit.Go spew crazy somewhere - we're all stocked up here.
12/24/2007 6:57:10 PM
^No, I've been posting here for six years. Actually I'll keep on, thanks. Have a merry fucking Christmas, you solipsistic nut.
12/24/2007 7:02:15 PM
Six years of wasted effort - no one gives a goddamn what you think.Do us all a favor and ring in the new year with a bullet to the head already.
12/24/2007 7:03:56 PM
12/24/2007 7:16:26 PM
It takes you two tries to even call me a jackass?Jesus, you're pathetic.(And someone who is a fascist under the pretentions of other beliefs is the definition of "crypto-fascist." Christ you're an idiot.)
12/24/2007 7:22:54 PM
Bush please take my freedoms and invade my privacy whenever you want. Just don't let the terrorists get me !!!!! ahhhhh
12/24/2007 8:14:06 PM
Moderators? Are death threats acceptable behavior on TWW these days?
12/24/2007 8:30:18 PM
Oh this is rich. You start up with personal attacks left and right, then when it gets too hot for you, you whine at the top of your lungs. You really are a treat to watch.
12/24/2007 8:31:37 PM
Communicating threats is against the law, calling someone an asshole isn't. This isn't some random internet message board, it's a local community forum. You need to think very carefully about what you say and post here, or you will find the police at your door. Just FYI. Moderators?
12/24/2007 8:43:10 PM
c'mon guys we are hurting Smoker4's feeling
12/24/2007 8:44:19 PM
Oh? I didn't know your reading comprehension deficit was so severe - or your inherent paranoia. Because I certainly don't read any "threats" around here - encouraging you to do us all a favor and off yourself is a prescription, not a threat. But it figures that a bedwetter like you would see terrorist threats everywhere. Shouldn't you be changing your sheets right around now?And yes. Do bitch and moan to the moderators some more. Why don't we show them what an asshole you've been lately? How you start in with personal attacks? I'm sure that is the kind of behavior worth complaining to the moderators over, right? I mean, you're in such a good position to bitch about personal attacks after starting up with them unprovoked. ...or do the rules just not apply to little paranoid bedwetting fascists like you now?
12/24/2007 8:47:34 PM
*shrug* OK. Well, it's good for your clarify your wholly unambiguous statement about bullets to heads. Although I have a pretty good reason to question the sanity/motives of anyone who spends Christmas Eve telling people to off themselves on the internet (speaking of paranoid). But you're right -- I've surely been meaner and nastier than anyone else on TSB. Nobody ever attacks each other personally here. But you know, I wasn't bitching and moaning -- if they want to ban me too, that's fine. Although I feel I should get at least one free racist tirade thread first to match my inherent fascism (just kidding! ).
12/24/2007 9:04:54 PM
I'm fairly sure the same people who make a habit of repeated unprovoked attacks on other posters (on Christmas Eve, apparently!) also don't make it a point to publicly bitch about others returning fire. That is the mark of a well-adjusted person.Look, here's an idea. In the spirit of Christmas, if you'd care to actually act like a civil human being, perhaps other people on here can as well. Just a thought.
12/24/2007 9:13:44 PM
^Yes, but I'm Jewish (ok, well, technically). It's either Chinese food or unprovoked attacks on the internet for me. Sigh. But burying the hatchet is fine. TSB grudges don't last anyway, there's always a meaner asshole here (we have the top ranks pegged with salisburyboy and his ilk ).We probably have more in common politically than you think, but I am very stubborn about the War in Iraq (for intellectual and personal reasons). I am politically libertarian (for the most part) and have volunteered for a "constitutional Republican" campaign before. Personally I don't think Ron Paul represents the "civil libertarian right" well, especially after the Huckabee comments about (ironically) fascism. But I was impressed with his performance debating McCain (further proof that McCain is old as the hills and needs to do something else). We'll see. I used to be more ideological about politics and I can see how a candidate like Paul is appealing to you. He would've been to me five years ago, but not now -- we'll be lucky just to have a solid Republican majority in this election. If the Democrats win we're heading down a long and dark road, so for me this primary maybe isn't the best start for new political directions (that includes Huckabee).
12/24/2007 9:35:12 PM
I am glad that we can resolve this peacefully, then. I look forward to engaging you in the future on other topics...
12/24/2007 9:46:11 PM
he didnt call huckabee a fascist. and way to give up on the system there smoker
12/25/2007 2:00:43 AM
I know he didn't call Huckabee a fascist. I didn't say that he did.

Doc... smoker... take a breath. It's the holiday season, so let's at least try to be civil here. This is one of my favorite threads and I'd rather not see it, like so many others, degrade into name-calling.Now, smoker, to your original assertions:

Funny stories from today:My father, a lifelong republican, a NC republican party rep (went to the national convention last year), is now an unofficial Ron Paul supporter. I NEVER thought I'd see the day we would support the same candidate. Been a straight ticket, majority supporter. My mother, a lifelong democrate, is a pretty vocal Ron Paul supporter. Has NEVER voted for a Republican in any office, ever.My sister, another democrat, though newly registered, also loves the guy.I introduced both of them to him back in the fall, and they refused to even let me talk about him around the house, because they thought he must be some nutjob. I get home for christmas and here they are handing me newspaper articles and supporter cards. All college educated, both my parents are accountants, previously worked FOR the IRS, and have never supported the same candidate for president. It's really suprised me how many people I've spoken to about Ron Paul, who I never imagined would ACTUALLY support him, but do and do vocally now. Whether because of the hatred for Hillary Clinton, or the disgust of the status quo in Washington, he really is a unifying candidate.[Edited on December 26, 2007 at 1:55 AM. Reason : .]

my cousin was in germany for a whole year. she was telling me today that a lot of her german friends over there were all ron paul fans. not sure why, didn't get into why, but thought that was interesting.
12/26/2007 2:00:14 AM
do you think it's worth it for me to register republican in florida so i can vote for ron paul? I'm feeling lazy as balls right now. and i'm definitely not a republican...
12/26/2007 5:21:20 AM
Ron Paul at 10% in Iowa now, in a poll that has consistently held him below what other polls state. It will be interesting to see the latest numbers from the ones that are usually higher.http://www.americanresearchgroup.com
12/26/2007 8:35:19 AM
^^ i think its worth it man.
12/26/2007 10:21:53 AM
Ditto. Florida's primary actually matters, and primary votes have far more influence than general election votes. Totally worth it.
12/26/2007 11:00:46 AM
yes its definitely worth it.If you want your vote to really count, voting in the primaries is as good as it gets
12/26/2007 12:16:51 PM
yeah i was really surprised at dinner XMas dinner yesterday. My cousin barette from FL is a major Ron Paul supporter. His wife was even telling me that her uncle goes around putting up banners and stickers everywhere.
12/26/2007 12:21:17 PM
I think many are starting to see the Revolution that is not being televised. All of those people are not just supporters, but voters, and are NOT ever going to be polled.
12/26/2007 12:54:43 PM
"The Revolution?"ahahahahhahahahaha are you serious?that's kind of cute if you are.
12/26/2007 1:24:40 PM
gotta say bobby, ive been suprised just within my social circles how many people have really been swayed by Dr. Paul.
12/26/2007 1:33:05 PM
Keep laughin, I know it's still early to make pronouncements like that. But I do honestly believe that RP's success will surprise the hell out of a whole lot of people.Worst case, top 2 or 3 in NH, IA, SC and NV, and staying in until the end.For an honest-to-god libertarian, that's unbelievable, and yes, if it happened, it could at least be described as a mini-revolution.
12/26/2007 1:34:06 PM
at worst, a good showing for Paul will make it clear to the man that a sizeable portion of US citizens are very pissed off with the way things are being run in general, and that they're passionate about trying to change things.
12/26/2007 1:48:24 PM
12/26/2007 2:17:53 PM
Haha, my dad takes every chance he can at home to jab at me for supporting Ron. He always brings up the "head in the sand" arguments and shit, saying that Germany would have taken us over in WWII if RP were in power then. I just shake my head and tell him to stop listening to Hannity.
12/26/2007 8:03:37 PM
did you tell him there wouldnt have BEEN a world war II if RP had been president in WWI? That there never would have been a hitler in power or the millions of deaths?
12/26/2007 8:08:26 PM
If RP had been president in the WWI era, I would predict that we'd never have become a world power. The states would diverge eventually leading to a rebellion to faction off in to their own countries.

^^agreed[Edited on December 26, 2007 at 8:44 PM. Reason : and these ron paul die hards are only kidding themselves]
12/26/2007 8:43:48 PM
Just drove from NC to NY and back this week and we saw numerous RP signs along the way. Neither my wife nor I remember seeing any other presidential candidate advertising in any fashion.
12/27/2007 1:07:00 AM
^ Yeah i see them about too. I think I mentioned this earlier, but there was some guy in Clayton waving a sign around the other ay.That's pretty much the nature/definition of a grass roots campaign, which is what RP mostly is. It's just individuals, likely with absolutely no ties to RP, putting up signs and stuff.

12/27/2007 1:29:34 AM
Do you guyslikereadI mean actually readThe stuff Ron Paul wants to implement?I mean he's by far the worst candidate, including the Jesus humpers.Ok, not including Edwards.

Europe is a terrible example because all those nation's have been independent of each other since....forever.The example you could use is the UK, where Scotland is slowly drifting out of the Union.
12/27/2007 1:45:42 AM
^ I was using Europe to demonstrate that you'd think would have a strong cultural connection would be more unified but are not.Scotland works well too.
12/27/2007 1:47:32 AM
Yea but they're kind of doing the opposite of what you're arguing by striving to become a stronger union.I also don't quite agree that the south would drift further away from the north per se. I think this country, with a weak central government, would see bloc's forming around the most economically powerful states:CANYFLTX<random heartland state...honestly who cares about them>Money always speaks louder the faith. Especially when the mentally challenged who would actually vote a man like RP into office realize that all the free goodies provided to them by Federal funding would cease. As well as their economic protections from being completely bulldozed by wealthier citizens.[Edited on December 27, 2007 at 1:52 AM. Reason : >.<]
