So at least Daniels and Garret will be OVing Saturday (I guess that means they may attend the Bowl Practice too?). Pack Insider is also saying that Nemanja Djurisic (6'8", 235 lb Montenegrin) and Tyler Lewis may visit. And Daniels is going to enroll somewhere for the spring semester, so I'd imagine he'll be announcing very soon.

Double-PostCan somebody with a PP account please login and tell that moron Bryanth1a that is a complete and total douche? I hate that guy more than anyone on PP I think. Thanks!http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=178&f=2515&t=6887945
12/14/2010 12:40:01 PM
I don't really read most of the posts on PP but I hate his avatar and don't like how frequently it comes up in every thread.
12/14/2010 12:55:38 PM
Nothing particularly egregious in that thread that I can see, but in general he struck me as a pretty level headed and realistic guy from what I remember. I can see how having opinions might bother some people though.
12/14/2010 1:42:40 PM
nah, it's not that he has opinions, he's just a totally irritating trolling douche that tries to stir shit with every single post he eve makes. he really, really likes attention. i guess i'm giving him more by calling him out here. (and he made a thread a while back about he's actually not alumni, but he made it to his first game last year and cried) sorry, just ranting.
12/14/2010 1:59:38 PM
That guy was obviously trying to start some shit in that thread...or it was just a dumb post. He was basically saying Tyler Lewis was getting recruited over. He pointed to one sentence where the recruit said "I like to distribute the ball" and made it sound like Lewis would never play because he's primarily a point guard. Yet he would ignore the fact that the other recruit is a 6'5" athletic guard who says he likes to "get to the rim and finish" and it in a completely different class. Why even bring that up other than to start shit?

12/14/2010 3:21:31 PM
Shockingly I have the same name as on here. And have like 800 posts in 10 years. I dont know the user base all that well so maybe I read him wrong. OTF is much, much worse.
12/14/2010 3:43:18 PM
^well, that's true. and i take it back that "every single post" he makes is an attempt to start shit. actually, every now and then he'll make some pretty good analyses. But most of the time, he's just trying to get something going and get some attention. Like in that thread.Anyways, sorry, i derailed this. Back to recruiting.Anybody heard much about the Nemanja Djurisic? I seem to think I've seen his name around before. Sounds like a big boy for a high school senior.
12/14/2010 3:51:43 PM
^^OTF is usually very funny and Bryanth is usually fairly realistic with a decent sense of humor.
12/14/2010 4:59:05 PM
you should know OTF in person hes "as is"dude is fucking just as hilarious in person and he plays dirty basketball lol

The two most impressive players at the NHSS will play each other in the GSK tourney Monday at 9pm.Torian Graham with WOG play Dorian Finney-Smith with Norcom. DF-S has already signed with VPI.http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/108008/dorian-finney-smith

Tyler Lewis was averaging 28.3 ppg and 6.2 assists. Last night he had 40 points and 7 assists. He broke a 3-game scoring record that was held by Chris Paul (according to PI).

I know espn recruiting isn't the best source of information but they took us off of DeAndre Daniels' list of schools. Are we out of the running?
12/30/2010 1:20:41 PM
They have Dave Telep now so it will soon become the best place to go.

Scout says the Harris wants to reclassify as a 2012 recruit. Is that correct? And if so, will we only have 1 recruit coming in next year?

Update on Tyler Lewis:Final Stats from Friday night's gameCalvary Baptist: 53Forsyth Country Day: 82(Tyler Lewis): 26 points, 8 assists, 4 steals, 4 reboundsI attended the first half of this game. I was pretty excited to get see Tyler in live action. He was dominant once again. Granted, the competition wasn't nearly to the level athletically of Forsyth Country Day who, in addition to Lewis, has a 6'8" center who is committed to UNC for football (Tyler Alberts). But Lewis looked like a typical college-recruit still stuck in high school that just makes it look easy. He didn't look as small as I thought he would, but I think it will show once he reaches college. Lewis was a super-confident, floor general that displayed the body language of "I'm going to do whatever I want, and I know that no one will stop me." I only saw 2 turnovers by him the whole time. His demeanor was all-business and focused. He played unselfish and consistently found open teammates on the other side of the court. The scoring attack was pretty balanced – all 12 Forsyth players scored at least two points. Tyler scored so many points because 1) Forsyth ran a full-court press the whole half and forced several turnovers, and 2) he's just gifted with speed, athleticism and basketball skills and just had a quicker step to the basket. One of the highlights of the first half was when Forsyth was running their offense, Lewis was standing still dribbling at the top of the key waiting for an opening, and suddenly fired a bullet into the lane and the ball smacked his teammate in the forehead! The whole gym went "Ooohh!" and then laughed. At one point he got hit in the face and had to go out of the game and be seen by a trainer. But he showed toughness and came back out on the court with a bandage near his eye.

^thanks, appreciated!
1/31/2011 1:09:17 PM
Too bad we'll probably never see these guys
1/31/2011 2:22:54 PM
I wouldn't bet on that at all. If our AD is competent there is no reason to believe we will loose out on these recruits.
1/31/2011 2:30:23 PM
Players don't commit to schools, they commit to coaching staffs and play styles and they tend to appreciate consistency. I can't help but think Lowe's days are numbered and that always tends to cause recruits to veer to other places
1/31/2011 3:44:45 PM
It all depends on how this situation is handled. If it is done carefully (and the fans just let the AD do her fucking job) we might be fine. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Lowe is retained and the assistant coaches undergo some massive changes.

tyler lewis looks like the handicap kid on Glee
1/31/2011 4:09:27 PM
^^ It doesn't happen very often but I wouldn't be surprised if she holds on to Lowe one more year while she gets her ducks in a row. You do a shake up of the coaching staff to appease some of the fans and continue lining everything up. A major coaching change is probably a tough thing to do your first year on the job.
1/31/2011 5:03:49 PM
She did it to the soccer coach only after a few months
1/31/2011 5:54:41 PM
1/31/2011 5:55:22 PM
ducks in a row??? i mean she was an AD at maryland... she knows what the job entails
1/31/2011 5:58:09 PM
1/31/2011 5:59:04 PM
No, we never realized that.
1/31/2011 6:19:09 PM
If we finish the season with a sub-.500 ACC record then Lowe is gone. Yow will check with a couple big-names, and if there is interest then she'll hire one. If none of our target big-names want the job then she'll find a solid mid-major coach (Marshall, etc.) and triple his salary. We'll be on an upswing then.Hiring Lowe was a mistake from the start. People thought it was a great thing for State basketball and that it would reunite the fanbase, but in reality it was a huge gamble that did not pay off. Julius Hodge, Chris Corchiani, and any other former players won't be the next coach. I wanted Lowe to succeed, purchased LTRs, and have cheered on the Pack for each of his 5 years. I've watched enough shit basketball and it's time that State gave me something to cheer for. This is NC STATE, not UNC-Asheville. If you miss the tournament 3 years in a row here then you should be fired. Lowe missed it four times and got a 5th chance. He has had his opportunity and he has squandered it.

If we can't get Barnes, Stevens or another big name, then I won't be excited if a change is made. We are going up year in and year out against two of the giants of college basketball, and we need a coach that can go toe-to-toe with them, keep the current players here and also keep the 4 and 5 star recruits coming in. If we can compete against K and Roy year in and year out, then we'll have a team that is capable of winning the ACC and winning a National Championship.
1/31/2011 7:25:28 PM
Yeah, if we can't get a big name, we might as well keep a bad name.
1/31/2011 7:31:41 PM
I didn't say that. I just said I wouldn't be excited. I wouldn't have any hope that things will get better, well at least to where we all want them to be, and that's winning championships and becoming one of the elites of college basketball again.[Edited on January 31, 2011 at 7:34 PM. Reason : ]

I don't want stevens unless he's going to run a completely different offense that he is at Butler.
