it's actually not the end of the thread, b/c this is a 235 page thread about all state basketball recruiting.it's like you didn't have enough time to write a book but still wanted to make an asinine post.

So think we'll get Tyler Harris Friday?
11/4/2010 12:27:08 AM
yea, i think so, but what do i know
11/4/2010 1:12:31 AM
11/4/2010 8:19:17 AM
c'mon Harris! Anyone know what time his press conference is?
11/4/2010 9:37:45 AM
I, too, would like to know the PC time. Also, those of you with PP premium did Gravis put up a smiley or any indication of where he might be going?
11/4/2010 10:05:08 AM
Everything I've seen said he's leaning towards Providence.
11/4/2010 10:13:27 AM
I've seen or reading nothing that indicates Harris will be anymore than a role player at this level. In the past it's not been a great sign when we are the best program recruiting a kid. That being said I guess we need the depth. ]
11/4/2010 11:16:02 AM
He had a UConn offer. I know Wake Forest was recruiting him as well, I don't remember if they offered or not.
11/4/2010 12:47:36 PM
^^^like what/where? I've seen nothing bet speculation
11/4/2010 5:46:22 PM
oh, just speculation, a "credible insider" said so. nothing definitive. we'll see tomorrow.
11/4/2010 6:35:45 PM
Quinn Cook to Duke, not that much of a surprise though.

only 2 hours to announcing time! Seems like there are mixed opinions on where he'll end up. But I guess that's often the case.
11/5/2010 10:33:10 AM
Harris to NCSU
11/5/2010 11:27:40 AM
cool beans.
11/5/2010 11:33:17 AM
sweet! I thought it was a 12:30 presser? Guess not.http://scouthoops.scout.com/2/1018813.html
11/5/2010 11:40:42 AM
cue the 3 pages of bitching about Harris not being ACC caliber.nice pickup Sid.
11/5/2010 11:59:20 AM
Awesome pickup! Now it looks like we could use a combo pg/sg for next year when Javi leaves, and could go to sg, if Lorenzo leaves before the 2012/2013 year.
11/5/2010 12:19:49 PM
WE DID IT
11/5/2010 12:38:45 PM
This is swell news

lol if he gets to 6'10 and gets a little strength, and stays out on the wing...
11/5/2010 2:48:14 PM
starting to sound like a lightweight Brandon Costner^ that Tayshaun Prince comparison is really good. He hasn't done bad for himself.
11/5/2010 2:54:18 PM
Might have to watch out for these then:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pituitary_diseaseWhen I saw his pictures, I was hoping he would be a tayshawn prince clone. Prince had freakishly long arms that gave him an advantage but they still have similar builds. I'm glad Sid an Co. got their man. I wonder how many more we'll take this year or hold over to the '12 class.
11/5/2010 3:58:16 PM
I've already forgotten, how many scholarships do we have in '11?I know Tracy and Javi are graduating, and we had two carry over from Mays and Davis transferring... for some reason I was thinking we'd have 5, or maybe one of those was taken by Leslie?[Edited on November 5, 2010 at 4:24 PM. Reason : V oops, that right, already forgot about Thomas. Sorry Johnny. So we do have 5 total.]
11/5/2010 4:04:49 PM
Johnny Thomas left the program and graduated as well.[Edited on November 5, 2010 at 4:21 PM. Reason : just to clarify, we have 3 remaining scholarships for 2011]

It'll be interesting to see how the draft unfolds if a lockout is imminent.Just looking for articles about possibilitieshttp://www.nbadraft.net/nba-lockouts-potential-impact-nba-drafthttp://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/22/winderman-draftees-wait-until-2011-no-checks-until-2012/Basically, there definitely will be a draft but in the case of a lockout, they won't earn any money until a new CBA is in place.
11/5/2010 9:13:36 PM
^i didn't read the articles, and i'll admit ignorance on the rules...but hypothetically, if there was a draft and lockout, could draftees still play college ball? I'd have to guess no.and what's this about Tyler Harris? I've read he's 6'8" (and skinny), still growing, has a nice 3 catch&shoot, and sometimes plays the 2 in hs?
11/5/2010 10:25:42 PM
I don't know if this has been posted but here's an interview Tyler Lewis' HS coach and former Wake Forest player Craig Dawson and Tyler Lewis himself. One thing I heard that made me happy was when the Dawson said that the NC State coaches never negatively recruited against the other schools. They mainly focused on NC State and if they even talked about any other schools then it was complimentary. The host though unfortunately is a long winded New Yorker.http://www.blogtalkradio.com/offtheboards/2010/11/05/return-of-otb--thursday-november-4th[Edited on November 5, 2010 at 11:17 PM. Reason : ]
11/5/2010 10:57:03 PM
So I read that Angel Rodriguez had an official visit this weekend? We really need a a pg in '11 to back up harrow while we wait for lewis, or at least another combo guard.
11/7/2010 5:29:09 PM
11/7/2010 5:32:40 PM
Tyler has always sort of rode Tobias' coattails but he will be a nice program player... The kind every program needs..
11/8/2010 9:21:34 AM
I don't like getting AR in this class. We need a guard, but it'd be better to get a combo guard with Harrow already on roster and Lewis coming in the next year. 2 true PGs so instead of using a scholarship on a 3rd who isn't as touted as the other two and might not get a ton of PT at the 1 after Lewis gets here, why not get a guy who could provide depth at multiple positions?
11/8/2010 1:26:30 PM
^^^Sounds like a good reason to convince Leslie to at least stay one more year. Worst case, he joins the draft and has to sit out a season with no pay. He could just stay at NCSU for a year, still get drafted after the second, and make money with no lull.Plus, don't you think 6'10" is a little short for a 3? Who's the next recruit on the radar?[Edited on November 8, 2010 at 1:28 PM. Reason : ^'s]
11/8/2010 1:28:24 PM
Right now if I had to guess it's more likely that we see Leslie at State for 2-3 years than only one. I'd say 2 is most likely, but 3 if shit happens or maybe he stays if he thinks we have a good shot at a deep tourney run (which IMO could happen just based on the caliber of talent we should have on that team)
11/8/2010 1:39:02 PM
One and done with no work stoppage..
11/8/2010 1:47:18 PM
if CJ Leslie stays for 3 years that means he didnt live up to his expectations and likely means our team didnt either. Which probably means that Sidney Lowe gets fired. Which probably means CJ would leave the team for the draftso, in other words, barring a serious injury, there is no way CJL is here in 3 years
