Oh I don't want some guy out there that can't shoot, I'm just saying that as long as he can make an open shot then he'll be fine. As long as he can get around 8-10 ppg while dishing out 5+ apg I'd be pretty happy.

Hopefully he can make it down to the GSK this year so we can watch him play.I guess not because the teams look like they have already been decided. The Bhullar twins will be there, so get excited whomever was excited about them on the last page.[Edited on November 2, 2010 at 11:51 PM. Reason : ....]

You guys are right. You can't win with an undersized, pass-first PG. It's just too much of a defensive liability.Signed,Monte Towe1974 ACC Champion, NCAA Champion, has his jersey hanging in the rafters

he may very well be a dud, but that writeup is pretty pathetic. a LOT of guards get their shit rejected and Lewis, like a lot of other guards, also get their fair share of shots off and And-1's against bigger guys too. Wonder how many times spud web got rejected while he was in High school, i'd imagine quite a few times. Dude played in the NBA though
11/3/2010 11:50:35 AM
^^Damn, when you just read the one post it's almost as if I'm just making random common sense statements....I was backing up my argument that a mobile, through traffic, yet small point guard can have a difficult time adjusting to basketball against a lot of near 7 foot guys around the basket with long arms. He moves the ball well, no doubt. He has flash, no doubt. But before we go suckin this kids nuts for being the next great guard we have coming through, I think we should be critical about his ability to game against bigger guys. I haven't seen a video of this kid at the travel team game. I don't know how many swats he experienced, but from the article it was more than once, and how many is really acceptable? It's a problem a taller guard wouldn't have, just sayin.I'm glad he's with the pack, though. I hope he doe well.
11/3/2010 12:49:31 PM
Let's shift focus back to Tyler Harris, who is announcing on Friday. I have no idea what the pack pride premium guys are saying, but the other boards I've read seem to think he is Providence bound. What have others read? FWIW I don't think he's all that, but I've been wrong a painful amount of times.
11/3/2010 12:53:59 PM
i'd be willing to bet that every point guard that shoots the ball in high school gets shots swatted occasionaly. the kid's a rising junior. i don't think anybody (who's rational) is sucking his nuts. i take back my semi-snide comment to simonn earlier. some of you do get way too worked up about recruits.[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 12:56 PM. AstralEngine thinks we need a 7ft point guard apparentlyIn all seriousness though, give it up. You said something stupid and got called on it, big deal. Just admit you were wrong and move on. It happens to everyone.
11/3/2010 12:55:47 PM
if Sidney and Monte were able to transform Javi Gonzalez into a serviceable PG in the ACC, I am confident that they will be able to maximize Tyler Lewis' potential

Pass-first smallish white point guards can't be successful in the ACC.Signed,Chris Corchiani

7 foot? Of course not, but not 5 foot either. I personally feel like 5'10 is too short[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 1:19 PM. Reason : 5, not 6, 6'10 would be a little ridiculous]

Tyler Lewis' 20 per isnt bad. We should just stick to recruiting the Monsters from Space Jam and Professor Farnsworth's Mutant Atomic Supermen.
11/3/2010 1:24:35 PM
Even though he may the most negative and miserable sports talk poster, I'm starting to see simonn's point about some of you people in this thread.^^And I agree, Corchiani could have easily been a 20 pts per game scorer his last two seasons if his role called for it. ]

i don't get all the hate for lewis.
11/3/2010 1:40:38 PM
^He's short and white, playing a position dominated by African Americans with a recent trend towards taller, stronger guards (John Wall, Derrick Rose)
11/3/2010 1:54:09 PM
^^ seconded. Seriously save the hate for when he starts playing like Farnold Degand on a fastbreak, stop critizing him when he hasn't even been committed to State for more than two weeks. Hopefully we'll land Harris too so we can come up with some lame nickname for the two Tylers.[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 1:54 PM. Reason : k]

I really wanted him, I think he'll be surprisingly good, at worst a solid back up. He'll be better than the Javi part deux we are looking at.

JUST to clarify, I harbor no hate for Tyler. If he manages two more inches before college, he'll still be between 2 and 3 inches smaller than the average ACC guard. It's just something to think about while we watch him grow up. Tyler Harris - What's special about this kid? I don't know much about him
11/3/2010 2:26:35 PM
mother fucking ty lawson was only 5'10", 5'11" depending where you look, probably more like 5'8".being 5'10" DOES NOT prohibit you from playing pg in the acc.
11/3/2010 2:28:26 PM
Tyler Lewis a fucking 4 star recruit, as in ****. When the powers that be decided to give him his rating they didn't look at white people only, and decide he was a *****(white) recruit. They consider the athletic ability of his peers, yes even the black ones, when labeling his talent/potential level. Everyone complaining is fucking ridiculous.[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 2:33 PM. 11/3/2010 2:32:58 PM
^Yeah...you were pretty dumb on that one.Even though the last few stuperstar point guards in college basketball (Rose and Wall), were bigger, stronger point guards...point guards in college are still relatively short. There are a very small percentage of the Deron Williams/Rose/Wall/Jarret Jack types out there. They just usually stand out because they're so friggin good.

Hey, I was under the obviously wrong impression that guards were generally in the 6'2"-6'3" range. How about next time you show me the information I found myself right off the bat? Then I'll give your opinion more credence. And before you continue raging, I never said the kid was gonna be horrible because he's small, I just thought it would make a difference.I don't wanna get in a copy and paste argument with you and derail this thread (again) for the next several pages.
