Not many 5'10" white dudes or dudes of any color can dunk. Pretty good feat. I wish I could.

no chance he's dunking in a game with how hard he had to try just to barely get it in that vid

but then again, I dont think ryan could dunk when he committed to us either and now he's a human highlight reel

great pickup, Sid

I live in Winston. Looking forward to making it out to a couple of Lewis' high school games this winter.

Lets go after the Bhullar kids ... 7-4 and 7-2 ... freaking beasts ...

Remind me of the unc-asheville guy that was rejecting fools in the NCAAs a few years back.

Hes a 1 man inside game, and then we can let our guards do their thing on the outside. At 7foot4, I would LOVE to pick up that kind of a project.

They are measured in Canadian inches. If you convert it to US inches they are about 6'10" and 6'8".
In all seriousness they either were playing with a bunch of big dudes or they really weren't that tall. Also their conditioning looked pretty terrible. They would be cool as projects but that is about it.

Just watch an interview with those tall brothers, and you'll see why Sid would never pick them up, even as projects. I thought that it would be awesome to have the 7'4'' one too...until I realized that the kid is practically brain dead.

"GUARD PICKS PACK

BY KEN TYSIAC - Staff Writer

Forsyth Country Day junior point guard Tyler Lewis, whose small stature did not prevent him from getting major scholarship offers before he even entered high school, committed to N.C. State on Thursday night.

The 5-foot-10 athlete, who weighs 160 pounds, committed to coach Sidney Lowe during an unofficial visit for the Wolfpack's football game against No. 16 Florida State. Lewis averaged 20.0 points and 8.6 assists per game last season.

Scout.com rates Lewis the No. 74 player overall in the class of 2012. Forsyth Country Day coach Craig Dawson said Lewis is gifted in his understanding of the game and in his ability to distribute the ball with passes that can sometimes be quite flashy.
Quantcast

"He's a floor general, and he's pretty much an orchestrator," Dawson said Friday. "He loves to play with guys that enjoy running and dunking and shooting the basketball."

Lewis also strongly considered scholarship offers from Wake Forest, Miami, Charlotte and Davidson, Dawson said. Virginia Tech offered him a scholarship in the summer before his ninth-grade year.

Longtime All-Star Sports recruiting analyst Bob Gibbons said Lewis is a good catch for N.C. State and Lowe.

"He sees the floor as well as any point guard that I've seen, maybe ever," Gibbons said. "He just has great peripheral vision and is an excellent decision-maker.

"The only question that anyone can have about him is his size, his ability to defend against quicker, stronger, more athletic point guards, but he finds a way. He competes hard, and he's made progress.""

Awesome news for State to pick-up Lewis on several levels:

- adds quality depth at PG down the road
- Lowe can sell elite-level scorers on State having an excellent "pass-first" PG already committed
- always nice to land a quality local player given the competition on Tobacco Road for recruits

why the hell is meeting a celebrity fan a violation? Because they're celebrities? big fucking deal

if Ashton and Demi gave them gifts of some sort, then thats obviously a violation. But God forbid one of our recruits runs into John fucking Tesh at Food Lion and they have a conversation about NCSU

"That means the Blue Devils are the most prohibitive preseason favorite in any of the six major conferences.
In fact, Duke earned 61 of the 62 first-place votes in the ACC media's preseason poll. The one media member who prevented the vote from being unanimous reportedly said afterward that he inadvertently voted North Carolina ahead of Duke and didn't notice his mistake until after the poll results were announced."

The vision on that kid is pretty ridiculous. I hope he can continue to dish like that with defenders that average 6" taller than him at least. Pack basketball continues to look like it will be more and more fun to watch.

^Assuming you're talking about Lewis, at 5'11 he's about 3 inches shorter than the average ACC PG (IIRC something like 8 projected ACC starters are going to be about 6'2)

he as like 2 years before he gets to state, and another 1 or 2 after that before he might be starting (depending on whether or not Harrow can get to the league in <4), and his brother is 6'2 so I'd guess he gets a little bit bigger.

I hate when they talk about lists like that and then don't put the information in list format. It's a very tl;dr situation that's done a lot in top 25 polls.

ehh, I thought it was. Most discussed player at the TOC was Lewis over other big names. Author couldn't wait to see the ball in his hands every possession but other times his moves weren't enough and he'd get the ball swatted away.

Yes, it's a simple take on watching him in one tournament but it'll be fun watching him mature over the next two years. The latest interview on Pack Insider has him saying he'll be a pure point guard, making sure to get the ball in the scorers hands. I really like this kid and he'll have a lot more opportunities to showcase his game before he sets foot on campus.

FYI, I just heard on the radio that the investigation into the University of Iowa and the recruits meeting Ashton and Demi is a complete non-issue, and no violations were commited.

And a lot shorter than the average forward/center, who he will also have to pass around in order to move the ball. I am not saying I think the kid is a bust, I am just saying it will be interesting to see if he can keep up the awesome flash he has against larger opponents.

If he can keep improving his shot then I think he'll be fine. If he's athletic enough now to hold his own against top PGs, then he'll be fine after two years in the weight room and maybe an inch or two on this height (hopefully).

I just hope he can shoot. I don't want a Dough Gottleib running the point.

i'm just going to throw this out there: you guys get too worked up about recruits.

he's coming here, he's a small guy. maybe he'll grow, maybe not. you don't need to speculate about whether or not you think he'll be worthy to play for us.

i realize that's more or less what this thread is for, but you're taking too far.

He's pretty much the same size as Javi and Ryan. I think he'll be fine. He'll have a year or two under Ryan, and after that he should have enough bulk on him to be a starter in the ACC.

Yeah another Gottlieb would be a terrible thing. Dude is #10 in career assists in the NCAA and during averaged over 8 apg during his junior and senior seasons. I understand what you're saying, but still a PG that can deliver the ball to the scorers effectively doesn't have to be a great shooter.

Except that it allows the defense to basically play 5 on 4 which puts a ton of pressure on the rest of the team offensively.
